Panchkula police destroys drugs worth Rs 1.53 crore
The Panchkula police has destroyed narcotics worth approximately Rs 1.53 crore in accordance with the NDPS Act. The destruction process took place at a modern incinerator facility located in the hygienic factory area of Bagwala, Panchkula, ensuring full transparency and adherence to legal protocols. The drug disposal was carried out by a dedicated Drug Disposal Committee headed by Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj following the requisite judicial approvals. The entire process was conducted under strict supervision to ensure it was lawful and secure. DCP Srishti Gupta, ACP Vikram Nehra and Inspector Sukhbir Singh from Raipur Rani police station, among other officers, were present during the disposal. The substances were seized in 48 separate cases over time and had an estimated market value of Rs 1,53,29,570. During the event, DCP Srishti Gupta too interacted with local residents of Bagwala and sought feedback on the drug situation in their area. She urged citizens to report any information related to drug trafficking or illegal narcotics activities directly to the police. She also assured the public that those struggling with addiction would be provided access to treatment, rehabilitation, and counselling services. 'This is not just the police's battle — it's a collective fight in which every citizen's participation is crucial,' she said. Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj called the initiative a significant step in the fight against drug abuse. He reaffirmed that the Panchkula police remains fully committed to continuing strict, transparent, and sensitive action against narcotics. 'Drugs are eating away at the fabric of society. Eliminating them requires a united front involving the administration, community, and each citizen,' he stated.

Haryana: Fake HSSC website busted, 6 held
Six persons involved in a fraudulent scheme centered around a fake website mimicking the official portal of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) have been arrested, Haryana Police said on Friday. The scam involved deceiving candidates who were attempting to register for the upcoming Common Eligibility Test (CET) 2025. According to police, the mastermind behind the fake website was arrested from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The accused, who created and operated the fraudulent portal, was part of a larger gang that included four other suspects from Gorakhpur, along with one individual each from Kurukshetra and Fatehabad. The fake website — — was designed to look like the legitimate HSSC registration portal — The fraudulent site was hosted on a third-party domain and used QR codes to collect registration fees from unsuspecting candidates. Upon detecting the scam, the HSSC filed a formal complaint at Sector-5 police station in Panchkula. The police took immediate action under the supervision of police commissioner Sibash Kabiraj. The fake website was swiftly removed from Google and the associated QR code was deactivated to prevent further exploitation. Panchkula deputy commissioner of police Srishti Gupta, who is overseeing the investigation, confirmed that around 77 candidates were duped out of approximately ₹22,530. She urged candidates to only use official government websites with a '. domain and to avoid making payments through QR codes or UPI IDs. In an effort to intensify the investigation, the cyber police station has formed three special teams to examine mobile phones, bank accounts, and other digital evidence. DCP Gupta also warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone exploiting the aspirations of young candidates.

Panchkula: To make city safer for women, police deploy female cops at 58 hotspots and 9 bus routes
In a bid to prioritise women's safety, Panchkula Police Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj has ordered the deployment of female police personnel at all 58 identified hotspots and on nine major bus routes across the district. The directive came during a high-level crime control and law enforcement review meeting held on Friday at the Commissioner's office in Mansa Devi Complex. The meeting was attended by DCP Panchkula Himadri Kaushik, DCP Crime and Traffic Amit Dahiya, all ACPs, Crime Branch in-charges, traffic officers, and officials from various police departments. The agenda focused on improving crime prevention strategies, strengthening law and order, boosting women's security, and intensifying anti-drug efforts. Kabiraj stressed that complaints must be acted upon within 15 days, and complainant feedback will be used to evaluate officers' performance. SHOs were instructed to take personal responsibility for every case under their jurisdiction. In addition to bolstering women's safety, the Commissioner ordered the four law and order companies — Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta — to stay fully alert with anti-riot gear and receive regular training. Special deployment of tear gas-trained units and SWAT teams will be ensured. To support victims of crimes against women, especially under the POCSO Act, female officers at the inspector level will provide counseling from the initial stage of the investigation. Feedback from the victim will be actively monitored. Emphasising modern policing, Kabiraj highlighted that smart work, alongside dedicated effort, is essential to effective crime control. He also issued orders for increased patrolling, strict vigilance on extortionists, monitoring of bail jumpers, and a crackdown on repeat offenders. Meanwhile, under the campaign 'Drug-Free and Violence-Free – My Village, My Pride', the Commissioner directed police to identify drug addicts, provide counseling and medical help, and intensify operations against drug peddlers in all marked hotspots. Further, police have been tasked with reducing incidents of vehicle theft and snatching through focused strategies and timely action. Officers and personnel have been warned of strict consequences for any lapses in implementing these directive
