Rail passengers between Weymouth and London told 'not to travel until further notice'
Rail passengers travelling from Weymouth to London Waterloo have been urged 'not to travel until further notice.'
Due to a signalling problem at London Waterloo some lines are blocked.
As a result, train services running across the whole South Western Railway network will be cancelled, delayed or revised.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Due to the level of disruption any unused tickets valid for today will be valid for travel tomorrow.
Passengers are advised that to assist with journeys tickets will be accepted, at no extra cost, on the following services until further notice:
- Great Western Railway services between Weymouth and Westbury (change for Southampton/Salisbury and services to London Paddington)
Morevbus services including:
- Morebus 30 between Wareham - Wool - Dorchester - Weymouth
- Morebus M1 and M2 between Bournemouth - Branksome - Parkstone - Poole
- Morebus 8 and 9 between Poole and Hamworthy
- Morebus 16 and 17 between Bournemouth - Branksome - Parkstone - Poole
- Morebus 20 between Bournemouth - Branksome - Parkstone - Poole
- Morebus 40 between Poole and Wareham.
Those travelling by train are urged to check before they travel.
A spokesperson for South Western Railway said: "We have been informed of a signalling problem at London Waterloo. This means that trains are currently unable to use platforms 1 to 14.
"We are advising passengers not to travel to and from this station until further notice.
"Services in and out of London Waterloo will be subject to cancellations, platform changes and major service alteration. Please check before boarding your service for a platform change."
