Mamelodi Sundowns starlet set for exit? Twist in future revealed
Mamelodi Sundowns have shown no signs of slowing down as they trim their squad following their historic eighth consecutive league title. The club made headlines by releasing several players, including Sipho Mbule, Rivaldo Coetzee, Lebohang Maboe, Sifiso Ngobeni, Thabang Sibanyoni, Sanele Tshabalala, and Lucas Suarez. Now, a source suggests that young talent Ntando Nkosi could be the next name cut from the Tshwane side's large squad. A source revealed that 21-year-old Nkosi, who joined the senior team in the 2022/2023 season, may soon leave either on loan or via a permanent transfer. The technical team sees potential in the attacking midfielder. But the depth of quality at Chloorkop has left him struggling for game time. 'The club believes that the youngster has a great future. But the competition at the club is tough and they are believed to be looking at giving him more game time away from the club. At the moment, they are looking at either loaning him or selling him outright. But it's believed he is not in the coach's plans as things stand,' a source said. Nkosi hasn't gone unnoticed. Clubs from both the Betway Premiership and the Motsepe Foundation Championship have reportedly shown interest in securing his services. 'It is believed that he is not short of suitors whether on a permanent deal or even on loan. But there have been enquiries for Ntando (Nkosi). It's just unfortunate that he can't play more regularly at Sundowns. And it's believed that a move away from Sundowns could be beneficial for the player's growth,' the source concluded. Despite his talent and promotion to the first team, Nkosi has struggled to break into Sundowns' dominant starting XI. A move away, whether temporary or permanent, now looks like a crucial step in his development. Should Mamelodi Sundowns keep, release, loan or permanently sell Nkosi? PSL star sends a serious message to Orlando Pirates midfielder
Sipho Mbule, one of the most beloved players in the local game, has joined Orlando Pirates ahead of next season's Betway Premiership term. As a measure to manage Mbule's reported ill-discipline towards alcohol, Sundowns loaned the 27-year-old to Sekhukhune United before the start of last season. Three months before the end of his loan spell, Sekhukhune released the Bethlehem-born star for continued unprofessional behaviour. In came Orlando Pirates with a surprising announcement of the player known as 'Master Chef.' 'Orlando Pirates didn't sign players to compete with Sundowns' Orlando Pirates players Sipho Mbule and Evidence Makgopa training at the Rand Stadium. Kaizer Chiefs news: Bafana winger and new number 10 'Hopefully he gets there and takes care of himself, does well and just pay back to the people who love to see him play, the people who are supporting him, like myself, I want to see him winning,' Mntambo. Orlando Pirates news: Squad depth, new signings, Saudia Arabia
Orlando Pirates have wasted no time bolstering their squad during this transfer window. With nine new players confirmed, including Sipho Mbule and Oswin Appollis, the club is focused on building squad depth and versatility. These signings are being put through their paces during the pre-season camp in Spain, where the team is working on fitness and tactical cohesion ahead of the 2025/26 season. The Buccaneers are keen to integrate fresh talent alongside established players to maintain their stature in the PSL and on the continental stage. The coaching staff has emphasized adaptability and teamwork as key themes going forward. However, this recruitment drive follows the confirmed departure of one of their brightest attacking talents, Mohau Nkota, who recently completed his move to Ettifaq Club in Saudi Arabia. Nkota's 12 goal contributions last season made him a vital part of Pirates' attack, and his exit leaves a gap the club is eager to fill. On the defensive side, Olisa Ndah is on the comeback trail from injury and expected to rejoin the squad following the pre-season camp, providing much-needed stability at the back. In attack, Pirates are reportedly pursuing Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro, who impressed during his loan spell at AmaZulu last season. Adding Ighodaro would help fill the void left by Nkota and boost the Buccaneers' firepower. As Pirates look to blend youth and experience, the coming weeks will be crucial to finalizing the squad and ensuring a strong start to the season.
