LAPD officers in pursuit of reckless driver in Mid-City

They were dispatched to Stoney Point Park, which is located east of Topanga Canyon Boulevard and south of the 118 Freeway, at around 7:10 p.m. after learning of the incident, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department. The hiker, only identified as an adult male, fell in a "rugged and remote section" of the climbing area, which led them to also send a rescue helicopter to the scene. SkyCal was overhead as the hiker was strapped into a sling and airlifted into the helicopter. Firefighters said they would be treated in flight and taken to a nearby hospital. The hiker's condition was not immediately known.

They were first called to the area after learning that a car had caught fire and was showing flames from underneath. The driver of that car exited and was struck by another car. The force of the impact threw the victim into westbound lanes, where they died from their injuries. They have not yet been identified. Police pursuit ends in violent San Pedro multi-car collision

A Los Angeles Police Department pursuit ended in San Pedro with a multi-vehicle crash and two of six people involved were taken to hospitals. Four people were treated at the scene, and released, according to the LAPD. The collision happened at Pacific Avenue and 19th Street on Friday afternoon. As SkyCal flew over, at least three vehicles were damaged, and strewn around the intersection. An SUV had crashed on top of a parked car and appeared to be nearly teetering on its side. Circumstances involving the pursuit suspect and the suspect vehicle are not known yet. This is a developing story.
