The 13th edition of the 50-over tournament will take place from September 30 to November 2, with matches set to be played across five venues in India and Sri Lanka. The host stadiums include the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), ACA Stadium (Guwahati), Holkar Stadium (Indore), ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam), and R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo). The tournament will kick off with a high-voltage opening match featuring India in Bengaluru on September 30, marking the return of the Women's World Cup to Indian soil after 12 years. The first semi-final will be held on October 29 in either Guwahati or Colombo, followed by the second semi-final on October 30 in Bengaluru. The grand finale is scheduled for Sunday, November 2, and will take place in either Bengaluru or Colombo, giving both finalists at least two days to prepare. Ratnagiri Jets, the two-time champions of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL), have announced the appointment of Devieka Palshikaar as the Lead Performance Coach for both the men's and women's teams ahead of the eagerly awaited season. Ranjit Pande will continue in his role as Head Coach for both squads. Season 3 of the Maharashtra Premier League kicks off on June 4, 2025, with the men's team beginning their title defence against Eagle Nashik Titans. The inaugural edition of the Women's Maharashtra Premier League (WMPL) will run from June 5 to 14, where Ratnagiri Jets will open their campaign against Raigad Royals. A former India international, Devieka Palshikaar, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the franchise. Her coaching career includes impactful stints as Batting Coach of the Mumbai Indians in the Women's Premier League and Head Coach of the Kerala Senior Women's Team, where she played a pivotal role in grooming some of India's emerging women cricketers. In her new role, Devieka will work closely with Head Coach Ranjit Pande on strategic planning, performance development, and match preparation. Mumbai, May 15 (UNI) Explosive opener Shafali Verma on Thursday made a much-anticipated comeback to the Indian women's cricket team with her inclusion in both the T20I and ODI squads for the upcoming England tour, starting June 28. After being dropped from the ODI side amid personal challenges, including a family health crisis, Shafali has returned to form with impressive performances in domestic cricket and the Women's Premier League (WPL), cementing her place once again at the top of India's batting order. Shafali was the highest run-scorer for India during the 2021 England tour, amassing 159 runs across two innings in the one-off Test match. She scored 96 runs in the first innings and 63 in the second, becoming the youngest woman and fourth overall to score twin half-centuries in her debut Test. Her aggressive style and consistent scoring make her a key player as India prepare for a white-ball series comprising five T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals in England from June 28 to July 22. The T20I leg will begin at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, followed by fixtures at Bristol, London's Kennington Oval, Old Trafford in Manchester, and Edgbaston in Birmingham.
