'He is in his Dev D arc", wrote an user, referring to his look. 'I find him so so hot", commented another fan. 'Likely place for him to be. He's so hot," said another. However, another section of fans wondered whether dearth of work has led to Abhay try out DJing. 'Itne bure din aa gaye hain?", a fourth user questioned. Abhay has worked in critically and commercially successful projects such as Socha Na Tha, Ahista-Ahista, Shanghai, Netflix show Trial By Fire, and others. However, the actor isn't working on a lot of projects of late. In 2019, Abhay Deol revealed why he has been working on fewer projects. He told Mid-Day, 'No one is giving me any work. The kind of content I want to be part of, is hardly made. At the same time, I have not closed myself to anything. As long as it excites me, I am game for it." 'It is a choice I have made. The kind of stories I like often comes from debutant directors. So, to ensure that the film sees the light of day is a long process in itself," Abhay added. He further told the newspaper, 'I haven't bagged awards or made any landmark project, so there won't be much to celebrate. If you go against the mainstream narrative, you do not get the [desired] visibility." First Published:

When Bobby Deol lost ‘Jab We Met': Imtiaz Ali revealed waiting two years before casting Shahid Kapoor

Jab We Met may be remembered as one of Bollywood's most beloved romantic dramas, but behind the film's charm lies a story of casting changes, misunderstandings, and creative decisions that shaped its destiny. Imtiaz Ali waited two years for Bobby Deol In a 2023 interview with Lallantop, Imtiaz Ali shared that Bobby Deol was initially set to star in Jab We Met. Being close friends, Imtiaz had planned the project with Bobby and even waited for two years to accommodate the actor's prior commitments. 'I didn't make the film for two years because I wanted Bobby to start it,' Imtiaz revealed. However, after already spending five years working on his debut film Socha Na Tha, and then waiting an additional two years for Bobby, Imtiaz found himself in a financial crunch. Eventually, the delay became untenable. 'He kept postponing my film… a time came when I didn't find it correct. I told Bobby, 'Let's not make this film. Let's shake hands and part ways,'' he explained. According to Bobby, the actress, after some initial hesitation, agreed to do the film—but only after six months. Soon after, Bobby found himself out of the project and read in the news that Shahid Kapoor had been cast instead, reportedly due to Kareena's influence at the time. No Hard Feelings, Just Unfinished Business Despite the setback, Bobby has maintained a friendly relationship with Imtiaz. He jokingly remarked, 'Imtiaz, I won't watch any of your films until you make one with me. That'll be your best film.' Meanwhile, Imtiaz continues to praise Bobby and insists the decision was based purely on logistics—not favoritism. On the other hand, Bobby Deol's previous outing was in the Balayya (Nandamuri Balakrishna) starrer action thriller Telugu movie 'Daaku Maharaaj' where he played the role of an antagonist. Imtiaz Ali Reveals REAL Reason Why Bobby Deol Was Removed From Jab We Met: 'Voh Wait Kar Raha Tha'

Imtiaz Ali said Bobby Deol was considering offers from other directors and making him wait. Bobby Deol recently revealed he was 'really upset" after being abruptly removed from Jab We Met, despite initiating its early development with Kareena Kapoor Khan and director Imtiaz Ali. Amid this, an old interview of Imtiaz Ali is doing the rounds on social media. While speaking to The Lallantop, Imtiaz recalled why Bobby was left out of the film. Imtiaz Ali said, 'Jab We Met ko Bobby Deol ke saath banane ka plan kar raha tha. Start kari picture but usko kuch aur offers mil rahe the, kuch bade directors ke saath. Toh voh wait kar raha tha. Keh raha tha ki iske baad kar lenge, uske baad kar lenge. Toh, karte karte ek aisa waqt aagaya jo mujhe laga ki ab yeh theek nahi lag raha. " Imtiaz added, 'Bohot waqt beet chuka hai kyuki vaise bhi, 5 saal tak maine ek hi film ki hai. Uske baad bhi ek do saal tak main kuch nahi kar raha tha. Toh matlab financially and even in life, you want to do things. Toh maine bola Bobby yeh film nahi banate hain. Let us decide this today. Let us shake our hands ki film nahi banate kyuki humara ek doosre ke saath sahi nahi rahega." Imtiaz's interview has resurfaced amid Bobby Deol's recent revelation of feeling hurt. Speaking to Instant Bollywood, Bobby shared how he first discovered the script while watching a rush print of Socha Na Tha, which Imtiaz was directing with Bobby's cousin Abhay Deol. Impressed, Bobby urged Imtiaz to write a film for him, which eventually evolved into Jab We Met. 'I tried really hard to make that film (Jab We Met) happen; I reached out to a lot of people," he said. Bobby claimed that he played a major role in bringing the production house Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision on board. The producers, he said, were interested in working with him but hesitant about backing Imtiaz, who was still relatively new at the time. Bobby pushed for the collaboration and successfully convinced them to give the director a shot. He also reached out to Kareena Kapoor Khan through a contact to offer her the lead role, but she initially declined. Preity Zinta was also approached, but turned it down, saying she would consider it at a later time. However, despite his involvement in setting the wheels in motion, Bobby was ultimately dropped from the project. Kareena changed her mind, and the role eventually went to Shahid Kapoor, forming a duo that would go on to create one of Bollywood's most cherished romantic films.
