Cameron Boyce remembered by his Descendants co-stars on the sixth anniversary of his tragic death
Late actor Cameron Boyce was remembered by three of his Descendants co-stars on the sixth anniversary of his tragic passing. Boyce was just 20 years of age when he suffered a fatal epileptic seizure in his sleep on July 6, 2019. While his epilepsy diagnosis was not previously made public, his family confirmed he was previously diagnosed just days after his death. Boyce was best known for playing Carlos - son of 101 Dalmatians villain Cruella de Vil in the Descendants movies and TV shorts that all aired on Disney Channel. Three of his co-stars - Sofia Carson (Evie), Booboo Stewart (Jay) and Sarah Jeffery (Audrey) - all took to Instagram on Sunday to pay tribute to their beloved co-star. Carson shared an undated black and white throwback snap of her, Boyce and fellow Descendants co-star Dove Cameron (Mal). She added the poignant caption, 'Our Angel. Forever,' which received over 1.1 million likes in nine hours from her 20.3 million followers. Her co-star Stewart shared that same post on his Instagram story for his 2.3 million followers as well. Jeffrey also took to her Instagram story sharing a throwback pic from 2014 of her and Boyce, along with a poignant tribute. A young Boyce was seen in a black hoodie with a black stocking cap while Jeffrey was in a black stocking cap and a brown coat as they embraced. '2014. On a BC ferry heading back to Victoria to shoot more of Descendants. Life is good. Miss you Cam,' Jeffrey said with a red heart emoji. Kenny Ortega, who directed all of the Descendants films, also shared a throwback snap of Boyce and a touching tribute on Instagram. 'Impossible to forget you Cameron. You own a piece of my heart. The memories of our times working together are some of my greatest treasures,' Ortega began. 'When you entered a room the light grew brighter because of your presence. Your laugh, imagination, talent, generosity, and loving heart were second to none,' he added. Jeffrey also took to her Instagram story sharing a throwback pic from 2014 of her and Boyce, along with a poignant tribute. Please join me in remembering our #foreverboy with a donation of any amount to the Cameron Boyce Foundation. Let's make the world a better and healthier place in his name. . .,' he concluded, while linking to the Cameron Boyce Foundation page. Boyce was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home on July 6, 2019, and authorities pronounced him dead on the scene. Descendants followed a group of kids - the offspring of iconic Disney characters - who try to free their parents from captivity. Carson's Evie was the son of the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Stewart's Jay was the son of Jafar from Aladdin and Jeffrey was the daughter of Aurora and Prince Philip from Sleeping Beauty. Boyce also starred in Mirrors, Eagle Eye, Grown Ups, Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and Runts, along with playing Luke Ross on Jessie from 2011 to 2015.

Streaming Ratings: 'Squid Game' Final Season Sets Three-Day Record on Netflix Charts
It's no surprise that the final season of Squid Game attracted a huge worldwide audience — it's the biggest show Netflix has ever hosted, after all — but the scale of the Korean hit continues to impress. The third and final season of the series amassed 60.1 million views worldwide from June 27-29, the largest three-day tally Netflix has ever recorded in its internal rankings. Season two, which premiered Dec. 26, 2024, had a higher opening-week total of 68 million views, but those came over four days. Both seasons made Netflix's all-time top 10 for non-English-language shows in their first week, the only times that has happened on either the English or non-English series charts. At a little more than six hours, it's the shortest of the three Squid Game seasons, which will allow it to rack up view numbers (total viewing time divided by run time) a little faster than the previous two installments. Squid Game ranked No. 1 for the week of June 23-29 in every country that Netflix tracks, also a first for one of the streamer's shows. The final season sees Player 456/Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) make a final attempt to bring down the deadly game from within — while also hinting in its last scene that the games are global in scope. Another title with roots in Korean culture, KPop Demon Hunters, also had a big week for Netflix. The animated film moved up to No. 1 on the English-language movie chart in its second week with 24.2 million views (or the equivalent of that many complete runs of the movie). The first season of Squid Game remains Netflix's most watched series to date with 265.2 million views over its first 13 weeks of release (the cutoff time for the streamer's all-time top 10 lists). Season two is currently second among non-English-language series with 192.6 million views, and season three sits ninth — with the potential to move into the top five in another week. Netflix to Add NASA+ as It Launches Into Live Streaming Feeds
Can rocket launches and astronaut spacewalks help Netflix boost its live streaming ambitions? The streaming giant is linking up with the U.S. space agency NASA, with live programming from NASA+ set to be available on Netflix beginning later this summer. The agreement will see NASA+ available as a feed within Netflix, a first for the streaming giant in the U.S. from an outside programmer. More from The Hollywood Reporter 'Squid Game' Creator Weighs in on American Spinoff Reports and Explains That Surprise Cameo Sofia Carson and Corey Mylchreest Fall in Love Abroad in 'My Oxford Year' Trailer Netflix Takes Victory Lap Through Seoul With Massive 'Squid Game' Parade Netflix inked a landmark deal with France's TF1 broadcast network earlier this month that will add live feeds from its channels. NASA+ is no TF1, but it is nonetheless a sign that Netflix is open to licensing deals with partners that can provide live video streams. Netflix's live programming up to this point has either been produced in-house or hosted as an exclusive live event, with a heavy emphasis on sports and sports-adjacent fare. It is also worth noting that NASA+ is available for free on NASA's website, and also recently inked a distribution deal with Amazon Prime Video, so the agency is seeking as wide a distribution path as possible for its programming. NASA also has an active presence on YouTube, including live streams. 'The National Aeronautics and our Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story of space exploration with the broadest possible audience,' said Rebecca Sirmons, GM of NASA+, in a statement. 'Together, we're committed to a Golden Age of Innovation and Exploration – inspiring new generations – right from the comfort of their couch or in the palm of their hand from their phone.' NASA+ launched in 2023 as an expansion of the space agency's mission to bring more understanding of science and exploration to the public. It streams rocket launches, spacewalks, mission coverage and live footage of Earth from the International Space Station, among other programming. Netflix and NASA plans to release more programming details closer to launch.
