GMA Gala 2025 teaser video featured in LED billboard along EDSA Guadalupe

GMA Gala 2025 is just around the corner! On social media, Sparkle GMA Artist Center shared a clip of a teaser video for the upcoming GMA Gala featured in an LED billboard along EDSA-Guadalupe. "WE'RE OUT HERE LIGHTIN' UP EDSA LIKE IT'S OUR OWN RED CARPET!" Sparkle wrote in the caption. The teaser showcased the glamorous attendees of GMA Gala 2024, including Kapuso Royal Couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, Alden Richards, Heart Evangelista, Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Bianca Umali, Ruru Madrid, and many more. The GMA Gala is returning for its fourth year and it will be held on August 2. The star-studded event is a fundraising affair in support of the GMA Kapuso Foundation, gathering celebrities and showbiz personalities for an evening of charity, camaraderie, and celebration. At the pre-GMA Gala 2025 dinner on July 24, GMA Network donated a total of P2.5 million to the Kapuso Foundation. The funds raised at the pre-gala dinner and the gala night itself will be utilized for the foundation's relief operations to help those who have been affected by the recent typhoons and Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). In Aubrey Carampel's report in "24 Oras" Wednesday, Alden Richards expressed his excitement for the gala. "Ready na yung suit natin for that. This is one for the books and medyo inaabangan na talaga. Talagang most of it, 'yung bonding talaga with my co-actors in GMA," said the Asia's Multimedia Star. Jillian Ward, for her part, will be going for classic and timeless for her gown this year, which also marks her 15th anniversary in the showbiz industry. "Gusto ko na 'pag ipapa-frame ko 'yung picture ko eh 10 to 20 years makikita ko na parang, 'Uy, pwede ko pa rin isuot 'yung gown na 'yan," she said. Raheel Bhyria is also done with his gala preparations and shared that he can't wait to reunite with his "Mga Batang Riles" co-stars. "Syempre I can't wait dun sa mga taga-MBR rin na kasama ko, sina Miguel [Tanfelix] sana magkita-kita kami ulit dun, si Jillian magkikita kami dun," said Raheel. —CDC, GMA Integrated News

AZ Martinez joins relief ops in Rizal for families affected by typhoons

AZ Martinez took time to lend a helping hand to those affected by the recent typhoons. On Instagram Monday, Sparkle GMA Artist Center uploaded photos of AZ taken at a relief donation drive in Montalban, Rizal. 'Beauty with a purpose,' Sparkle GMA Artist Center wrote in the caption. In the photos, AZ could be seen handing out relief bags to some residents. AZ was part of the Big Four of 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.' She and her duo River Joseph (AZVer) were named the fourth big placers. Following the onslaught of Tropical Cyclones Crising, Dante, Emong, and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, a state of calamity was declared in 192 cities and municipalities, including the entire provinces of Cavite, Bataan, Pampanga, Rizal, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, and Negros Occidental. On Monday morning, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that the death toll has increased to 31, with most of the fatalities coming from Metro Manila. According to PAGASA on Monday, the Southwest Monsoon is expected to continue bringing rains over the Philippines. The Ilocos Region, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan will have occasional rains. —Carby Rose Basina/CDC, GMA Integrated News

Mika Salamanca, Will Ashley volunteer in soup kitchens for families affected by inclement weather

Mika Salamanca and Will Ashley braved the weather to extend help to those affected by Typhoon Crising and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). On Instagram Wednesday, Sparkle GMA Artist Center shared photos showing the 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition' housemates taking part in food preparations. 'From the PBB kitchen to kitchens for-a-cause. Despite the heavy rains and in the spirit of bayanihan, Mika Salamanca and Will Ashley stepped up to serve — volunteering in two soup kitchens in Quezon City and Marikina for families affected by Typhoon Crising and the Southwest Monsoon,' Sparkle wrote in the caption. Aside from preparing hot meals, Mika and Will also helped in raising funds online to support more communities in need. Their efforts were made in partnership with the Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network of the Angat Buhay Foundation. The triple threat of Crising, Habagat-induced rains, and low-pressure areas contributed to heavy rains — and heavy flooding — in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. On Wednesday, PAGASA said three dams in Luzon continued to release water amid heavy rains due to the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat and a low-pressure area. For those looking to donate to the victims of the heavy rains, here is a list of organizations with relief operations. —Carby Rose Basina/CDC, GMA Integrated News
