Katie Price shares new 'babies' sparking fresh backlash from fans

The former glamour model, 47, is set to come under fire yet again following an online petition previously as she took to Instagram with the new update. Katie Price has stirred up controversy among fans once more, as she showed off her new 'babies' on social media. The mum of five took to Instagram on Monday, June 2, to share the new family additions. The former glamour model, 47, showcased pictures of her new pets in an excited post, revealing her latest Sphynx cats, who she affectionately names as her 'babies'. Katie posted a snapshot of the four felines, simply captioning it: "My bald babies". ‌ It comes as the 47 year old has received backlash from owning pets in the past. In 2020, an online petition was launched demanding a ban to prevent the reality star from owning any more animals. ‌ Gaining upwards of 37,000 supporters on the petition followed devastating details after Katie's previous pet deaths came to light. Her cherished German Shepherd died near her family home, a similar end which another of her dogs tragically saw seven months prior. Elsewhere, one of her horses was also a casualty on the same stretch of road after escaping from its enclosure, reports the Mirror. Her French Bulldog puppy named Rolo tragically suffocated after getting stuck beneath a piece of furniture. Reflecting on the incident, a spokesperson for JRC Bullies, who generously presented the pup to the TV personality, expressed their despair to the publication: "We are heartbroken that this has happened as we told Katie not to leave a small puppy on its own. We can't believe that the puppy was left unattended as we had left strict instructions." The creator of the petition claims: "A puppy has died in the last 24 hours in Katie Price's care she bought this puppy for her 13 year old child 3 weeks ago. Which was killed in a accident no one witnessed." ‌ They continued: "In the last 5 years more animals have died from lack of care. Horses. lizards hedgehogs. This isn't a single family tragedy. It's a common thing in Katie Price's home. "2 dogs have been ran over. Puppies were found dead drowning in a neglected swimming pool. A horse was run over on a motorway. Animals just go missing in her home never to been seen again." ‌ While the petition urges PETA to intervene, the animal rights organisation previously addressed concerns about Katie's treatment of her pets, even offering her £5,000 if she signs a contract vowing not to purchase any more animals. Reports suggest that upwards of eight pets belonging to Katie have sadly died while in her care, with the casualties allegedly including five canines, one horse, and a chameleon. However, it seems Katie is so far ignoring the outside noise as she posted a selfie sporting a hairband as she posed in the car. "New week new month let's go," she captioned the photo to her 2.7 million Instagram followers.

Feline fanatics take over Perth for first-ever cat fair

West Aussies have driven far and wide to be part of Perth's first-ever Oz Feline Fair hosted by social media sensation Steven Meserve who said cats are riding the popularity train closer to dogs than ever. Feline fanatics lined up outside the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday morning eager for the festivities, cat-themed experiences and cosplay competition to begin. The Watkin family woke up at 5am and drove from Northam to Perth for 5-year-old Fifi and 3-year-old Willo to look at cats despite mum, Antonia, not being a fan of the animal herself. 'Fifi has been obsessed with cats ever since she had a rainbow kitty dance party for her birthday... I'm not really a cat person but you gotta do what you gotta do for the kids,' Ms Watkin said. Boom Court and her daughter Leona were cat shopping at the fair despite her husband having a strict no-cat rule at home. 'We are not going to get a cat today but we will surprise him with one once our home renovations are will learn to love it,' Ms Court said. About 130 felines competed, with the titles of Best in Breed and Best in Show available to both domestic and pedigree entrants. The winners will be announced on Sunday. Mr Meserve, 52, has been a cat judge for 25 years despite studying marketing and public relations in university. He started Loving Cats Worldwide, the host of the CATstravaganza show, three years ago with a dream to convert people into 'cat people'. 'I think cats are having their moment finally and I will say thanks to me,' he said. 'The first cat show happened only 12 years after the first dog show... I think why it's never been celebrated is because it's never been cool and now it's becoming cool, 'I think finally, they're getting their moment and at Loving Cats Worldwide we convert a lot of non-cat people into cat people and it is bringing cats to the same level as dogs.' Social media personality Steven Meserve. Credit: Justin Benson-Cooper / The Sunday Times Mr Meserve has 15 cats and two dogs living inside his 10-bedroom Portugal home with him despite growing up in a dog-only household. Sphynx cat breeder Angela Irvine and the social media star said cat ownership is on the rise because they are low maintenance. 'People can't afford big houses anymore and they are opting for apartment living and it's so much more convenient to have a cat in an apartment than a dog,' Ms Irvine said. The event has already graced Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide and Melbourne, with Sydney to follow Perth in June. Cat show manager Judy Coish said there were thousands more attendees in Perth compared to the previous fairs over-east. 'Perth VIP tickets sold out first, and the ticket sales were more than any other state, even big states like New South Wales and Victoria,' Ms Coish said. Perth's epic turnout has secured the city will be on the CATstravaganza show list next year. 'We'll definitely be back in Perth because I think the turnout here has been the best ... our last stop is Sydney, so even for the biggest city in Australia, I don't think it is even going to touch the capacity that came to Perth.'

Pregnant Sphynx Cat Goes Viral as Viewers Left Shocked by Appearance

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A sphynx cat owner has left the internet in stitches after discovering their hairless feline hadn't just been gaining weight—she was pregnant. The unexpected twist was shared by Xena, known as @famoussphynx on TikTok, in a video that has since gone viral, amassing 1.6 million likes and 9.3 million views. The clip begins with the sphynx cat licking her visibly swollen belly before cutting to two newborn kittens snuggled up beside her. "Wondering why my cat is getting so fat," reads the text overlay on the video. "Thought I was feeding her too much," the owner captioned the post. "Yes, we are keeping parents and babies," they added in a follow-up caption. Sphynx cats, known for their distinct lack of fur and wrinkled skin, are a unique and affectionate breed. They are highly social, intelligent, and known for their energetic and playful nature, according to Purina. Despite their lack of a coat, sphynx cats require regular grooming to manage oils that would normally be absorbed by fur. Cat pregnancies typically last around 63 to 65 days. As Cats Protection explains, signs of pregnancy include a swollen belly, increased appetite, and affectionate behavior. Owners are advised to provide extra care and a safe space for the expectant mother as she prepares to give birth. Sphynx cats typically enjoy a lifespan of 13 to 15 years, with some living even longer with proper care, according to Animal Elysium. Their longevity is influenced by factors such as genetics, diet, and regular veterinary check-ups. While they may require specific care due to their hairlessness, many owners find their engaging personalities and loving demeanor well worth the extra attention. The comments section of the viral video quickly filled with amused and adoring reactions from TikTok users. A stock image showing a pregnant Sphynx cat. A stock image showing a pregnant Sphynx cat. "I love how there's zero wrinkles on her belly, full capacity," a third commented. "They are actually the cutest things ever," one viewer added. "Why do people find hairless cats ugly? to me they're adorable," another user said. "I will never understand how people hate on hairless cats," echoed another. Katie Price defiant as she shares snap of her pets hours after PETA warning

Katie Price snuggled up close with five of her favourite pets over the weekend and shared a cute snap of her cats and dogs - hours after leaving fans concerned by a pet video Katie Price has proudly shown off five of her pets after sparking alarm over the way she cares for some of her wildlife. The 46-year-old mum-of-five has attracted unwanted attention over the years over the fact animals have died in her care. But over the weekend, the glamour model was celebrating some of her favourite furry friends as she took to social media to show off the pets that she loves and cares for. Taking to Instagram Stories, she shared a photo of her three hairless Sphynx cats and two dogs all snuggled together. ‌ She added a simple caption to the image, writing: "My babies." The new image came just hours after she sparked outrage by sharing a video clip of a dog hanging out the window of a car. ‌ She captioned the video clip, shared via Snapchat, to write: "Anyone else have a pet like this?" The simple post attracted a wall of anger from followers who expressed concern for the pooch, however. Among complainers is the animal charity People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) - who slammed the star for sharing her video on social media. A spokesperson told The Sun: "While it's wonderful for dogs to enjoy the great outdoors and lovely when guardians include them on suitable outings, it can be damned dangerous to have the car window lowered enough for them to jump or fall out." Highlighting the risks to the dog, the spokesperson said: "A sudden stop, sharp turn, or tempting distraction can quickly turn a fun trip into a tragedy." The latest intervention from Peta comes after they previously offered to pay her thousands of pounds to stop buying pets. Offering the glamour model £5,000, they said in a past statement: "things have gone horribly wrong with many of the animals under her supervision." In June 2023, Katie's German Shepherd Blade was struck on the busy A24, close to her home in East Sussex. Sharing her grief at the time, she wrote in an online post: "Words can't express the lost of my best friend my protector my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today. I have no words to say how I'm feeling but numb and shocked rip Blade." ‌ Six months earlier, her pet Pomeranian Sharon was killed, reportedly in a horror crash on the same road. And the year before that, Katie's Alsatian Queenie, a present from her ex Kieran Hayler, was allegedly hit by a pizza delivery driver. She wrote on social media at the time: "I'm absolutely devastated... she was killed by a heartless delivery driver who ran into our dog seeing her struggle and drove off without telling and left her to die." Another Alsatian belonging to the star was killed on the A24 in 2020 - but it's not just dogs that have died in tragic circumstances. A horse was also killed on the busy road in 2017 when it escaped from a field. In July 2020, French bulldog Rolo died after getting stuck under an electric armchair. The pet had been a present for Katie's daughter, Princess Andrei's 13th birthday and the mum called what happened a 'freak accident'. The glamour model attempted to revive the pet before rushing him to the vet, where she learned it was sadly too late. "There was nothing they could do, but they did say he wouldn't have died in pain, it was quick," she explained on YouTube at the time.
