Nebraska football making strong impression on rising running back
Nebraska football is in the mix for class of 2027 running back Isaiah Rogers. Rogers mentioned Nebraska is in contention alongside several programs in the country. The recruit is the No.12 overall running back in the 2027 class, and the second overall player in his class from the state of Massachusetts per Rivals industry rankings. He is currently a four-star back. He had 15 carries for 51 yards and a touchdown last season for Springfield Central, playing in games. He also played in two games during his freshman season of 2023. He had nine carries for 67 yards and three touchdowns that year, according to statistics from He specifically liked running backs coach EJ Barthel, as noted in a report from Chad Simmons on Tuesday Rogers would add additional depth to the Huskers' running back room, and give the offense of playmaker. The statistical sample size is small, but his offer sheet is filling up. Boston College, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Maryland are all among the teams that have offered him. It will undoubtedly be interesting to see how this recruitment progresses. The Huskers appear to be in a good spot here, but recruiting is always a fluid process. ‘I had to be out there.' Teagan Swint finishes off Newton North's trip to Division 1 basketball final
The Tigers (24-1) will face top-seeded Franklin in the title game, their first trip since 2022, at the Tsongas Center this weekend (TBD). Advertisement The 6-foot-4-inch Swint finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds, with the Bay State Carey MVP once again in a starring role. While the Golden Eagles' Jabari Sifrin (10 points, 9 rebounds) and Tahir Bay (6 points, 6 rebounds) clogged up the paint, Swint was content to find his shots on the outside, connecting on six 3-pointers. He hit two in a row to start the fourth quarter before needing to take a seat due to foul trouble. Sophomores Julian Zakak (8 points) and Jake Lyons (6) came up with big shots at the end of the third quarter to cushion a Springfield Central run, and senior Nick Spinelli connected on a pair of clutch free throws in the closing minutes. Swint and his classmates were freshmen on the squad that ran to the 2022 title game, which they lost to BC High. Now, with another chance at it, they're ready for a date with Franklin and Swint's former AAU teammate in Caden Sullivan. 'I just remember watching from the bench my freshman year, imagining being out there playing,' Swint said. 'And now, it's kind of surreal, I'm out there, they're supporting us.
