Call for social awareness to eradicate superstitions: SP Ratna
Madakasira: Social transformation can only be achieved through awareness, education, and the protection of civil rights, said Sri Sathya Sai district SP V Ratna during the Civil Rights Day celebrations held at Suryavidyaniketan School in Bullasamudram village, Madakasira constituency on Saturday. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, SP Ratna emphasized the need to eliminate social discrimination and superstitions that still persist in some areas despite being in the modern era. The SP stated that social reforms must begin at the grassroots level, and Madakasira could serve as a model for change. She condemned the continuation of practices like the two-glass system and stressed the importance of equality and freedom as fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution. She credited Dr BR Ambedkar's efforts for establishing the civil rights enshrined in the Constitution. She also warned that any crimes against vulnerable groups would be dealt with strictly according to the law. The SP added that Madakasira has great potential for development and encouraged collective action with social responsibility to move the region forward. She announced strong measures to curb child marriages, road accidents, and anti-social activities in the area. During the event, cultural teams including police folk artists performed awareness songs. Several local issues were brought to the SP's attention, and she promised swift resolution. On this occasion, information posters detailing compensation for SC/ST victims were also released. The event was attended by Sarpanch Rangamma, Tehsildar Karunakar, CDPO Malleswari, CIs Nagesh and Rajkumar, SB SI Muni Pratap, women leaders, villagers, and other notable participants.

Collector calls for creating conducive atmosphere for entrepreneurs in Sri Sathya Sai district
Sri Sathya Sai district Collector T.S. Chetan on Thursday called on the District Industries Centre (DIC) and bankers to provide encouragement to active and aspiring entrepreneurs, as 'industrial development is crucial for the district's economic growth.' During the District Industries Promotion and Export Committee meeting at the Collectorate here, the Collector reviewed the status of industrial approvals to the entrepreneurs, issued through the Single Desk Portal. He informed the officials of the allied departments to work in coordination to strengthen the presence of industries in the district. 'We need to have more and more employment opportunities. For this, industrial growth is essential. There should be a conducive environment for setting up of industries and encouragement to the entrepreneurs. Then, we can expect a positive response for new industrial investments,' the Collector said. Mr. Chetan urged the bankers and the District Industries Centre (DIC) to adopt a liberal and friendly approach towards the entrepreneurs and devise proper methodologies to extend financial incentives and support to new investors. The Collector directed the officials to ensure the timely approval of new applications from the entrepreneurs and accord permissions for 21 new industrial units within the stipulated deadlines. He also reviewed the subjects related to concessions, investment subsidies, electricity tariffs, and interest rates for the entrepreneurs. The officials informed the Collector that as many as 37 applications were cleared. Deputy Director of Industries Mohammad Shafi, Extension wing officials, and senior officials of the Agriculture, Horticulture, and Social Welfare departments were present.

MLA urges corporate support for Puttaparthi tourism development
Puttaparthi (Sri Sathya Sai district): Aspart of the centenary celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy appealed to corporate companies to contribute towards tourism development in Puttaparthi under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The MLA, along with former Minister Dr Palle Raghunatha Reddy, Municipal Commissioner Prahlad, tourism officer Narsaiah, representatives from Joy Alukkas Jewellery and TDP leaders inspected several key tourism spots here on Wednesday. The team visited areas including Shilparamam under Puttaparthi Municipality limits, PUDA park site, Chitravathi riverbanks, and the Anjaneya Swamy statue. MLA Sindhura Reddy urged Joy Alukkas representatives to fund for the beautification and development of Chitravathi area and to extend support for the improvement of 14 parks under the PUDA limits. She emphasised the need for proper infrastructure and beautification at Shilparamam to enhance tourist experience. Later, the delegation held discussions with district Collector TS Chetan regarding the proposed development plans. Representatives Joy Alukkas and Robin assured their support and promised to provide adequate financial aid for the upliftment of Puttaparthi's tourism sector through their CSR contributions. They expressed their reverence towards Sri Sathya Sai Baba and hoped his blessings continue to guide and protect the people.

IAF announces recruitment rally for Agniveervayu

As per the scheme, 25% of the selected candidates may be granted permanent induction after the successful completion of their service term.
