Sachin Tendulkar Snubbed As South Africa Great Picks 'Top 3 Greatest Batters'. One Indian Named

Legendary South Africa batter Hashim Amla picked Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers and Vivian Richards as the 'Top 3 greatest batters'. During an interview on Star Sports, Amla revealed that his favourites used to be Steve Waugh, Jacques Kallis and Brian Lara. However, when asked to give his current list, he excluded both Lara and India legend Sachin Tendulkar to include Virat Kohli instead. "There are so many great players over the years. Growing up, my three favourite players were Brian Lara, Steve Waugh, and Jacques Kallis, being from South Africa. But now, I'd pick three other names-Virat Kohli in recent times, AB de Villiers, and one more from the old days, Sir Vivian Richards." Earlier, former England quick Steve Harmison believes that if India had its batting maestro Virat Kohli in its final XI against his former side at Lord's, the visitors would have gunned down the target and soared to a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. After the end of the three days of pulsating contest, India and England remained inseparable, with both posting 387 each in the first innings. India's spirited bowling forced England to be bundled out for 192, which raised hopes of the touring party taking a lead for the first time in the series. However, England's speedsters left India gobsmacked with their blistering pace and flattened those ambitions in a whisker. At the end of the penultimate day, India were reeling at 58/4. In the opening hour of the final day, tearaway Jofra Archer and captain Ben Stokes rubbed salt on India's wounds and left them threadbare at 82/7. Nitish Kumar Reddy resisted for a bit but gave away a faint edge to wicketkeeper Jamie Smith off Chris Woakes. Ravindra Jadeja batted his heart out with tail-enders Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah, but the battle they waged ended in vain as England scripted a 22-run triumph. Harmison felt that if India had its 'chase master' and former Test batter Virat, the result would have completely turned around. "India has scored more hundreds, more top-order runs, and more new ball wickets, but England has got a knack of finding a way to win. Finding a way of creating an event throughout a session to change the course of the game. For me, India has to start believing. This is where the likes of Virat Kohli were unbelievable. In a fourth innings chase, he goes and wins the game comfortably. He would have won that game comfortably at Lord's," Harmison said in ESPNcricinfo Match Day.

Not Yashasvi Jaiswal, star India cricketer picks THIS 27-year-old batter that England fears the most..., his name is...

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pnat Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjhrekar believes Rishabh Pant should have the freedom to play his natural, attacking game in Tests, showcasing his wide range of shots. He added that Pant is one of the few batters who genuinely intimidate the England team. Pant is known for batting fearlessly and aggressively but such aggressiveness hasn't always paid off, and he has occasionally allowed the opposition to take his wicket. However, his aggressive strategy has paid off as Pant has emerged as a threat to the opposition and one of the most significant hitters in the Indian lineup. Sanjay Manjhrekar on Rishabh Pant's aggresive batting approach 'Rishabh Pant will play in his way no matter what the situation is. He should get that license because he deserves it. The batting unit has to function well. Jaiswal must think a bit about how he got out,' Manjrekar said while speaking on Star Sports. 'He (Jaiswal) should make use of his form. Pant, I feel, is a big player at No.5. He is a batter who England fear,' Manjrekar added. Rishabh Pant's injury update Pant has scored 425 runs in three Test match so far at an impressive average of 70.83. India's captain Shubman Gill, said on Monday that he is confident Pant will be able to play in the fourth Test match at Manchester after X-rays dispelled concerns about a serious injury to his finger. On the first day of the recently finished third Test match against England at Lord's, Pant was hit in the left index finger and had to leave the field during the second session of play. 'Rishabh went for scans. There is no major injury, so he should be fine for the fourth Test in Manchester,' Gill said at the post-match press conference. Pant appeared in visible discomfort after diving to his left to stop a delivery from ace Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who had strayed down the leg side in the 34th over of England's innings. Following the incident, Dhruv Jurel replaced Pant, who did not retain wickets.

Growing up, my three favourite players were Brian Lara, Steve Waugh, and Jacques Kallis, being from South Africa. But now, I'd pick three other names-Virat Kohli in recent times, AB de Villiers, and one more from the old days, Sir Vivian Richards." Instead of Tendulkar, Amla's selections reflect a mix of modern brilliance and old-school dominance. Kohli and de Villiers symbolise contemporary excellence and innovation, while Richards epitomised fearless, explosive batting that could dismantle any bowling 42, is currently playing in England for the South Africa Champions team in the World Championship of Legends. Haryana seamer Kamboj added to India squad as injury cover ahead of crucial Manchester Test

Haryana fast bowler Anshul Kamboj has been added to India's Test squad for the ongoing tour of England after left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh sustained a deep cut on his bowling hand during a training session. The 24-year-old Kamboj, who has 79 wickets in 24 first class games, was part of the India A side, which played two three-day games last month. He took five wickets in the two games. 'India A seamer, #AnushulKamboj has been added to the Indian squad as a cover ahead of the fourth Test against England at Manchester!' the official broadcasters of the tour, Star Sports, posted on X. Kamboj's family members and his coach are proud of the youngster's addition to India's Test squad in England. It was a moment of celebration for Anshul's family and his relatives to hear the news of his addition to the Indian side in England. Anshul's brother, Sanyam Kamboj, described the emotion that swept through their home upon hearing the news. 'We are very happy, and the entire family is happy for him. I don't have words to express my happiness for his selection in the Indian team. He used to practice a lot in the academy and only used to go home to sleep,' he told IANS on Sunday. The sacrifices made by Anshul and his family stand as a testament to the single-minded focus that has fueled his ascent through the ranks of Indian cricket. Practising for countless hours at the local academy and dedicating himself completely to the game, Anshul has inspired those around him with his discipline and commitment. His coach, Satish Rana, who has been a guiding force in Anshul's formative years, was equally elated and proud. 'It is a proud moment for us. I still remember his childhood days when we pledged to make him a good player and a better human. Anshul is following that and focusing on cricket. Our target is achieved today,' Rana reflected, looking back on the years of hard work, mentorship, and responsible nurturing that have come to fruition with this selection. The 24-year-old Anshul is a stocky right-arm fast bowler known for his ability to generate both skiddy pace and sharp bounce when needed. He was part of the India A squad that featured in two unofficial Tests ahead of the England Test series. Kamboj rose to prominence after delivering a historic performance in the Ranji Trophy last year, claiming all 10 wickets in a single innings against Kerala at Lahli. With that remarkable feat, he became only the third bowler in Ranji Trophy history to achieve the rare milestone, joining the elite company of Bengal's Premangsu Chatterjee (1956-57) and Rajasthan's Pradeep Somasundaram (1985-86). In total, Kamboj finished the previous Ranji season with 34 wickets from six matches, underlining his impact in India's premier red-ball competition. England to host next three WTC finals: England will stage the next three World Test Championship (WTC) finals after the successful hosting of the first three showpiece matches, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Sunday. The most recent final took place last month, when South Africa were crowned champions for the first time after defeating holders Australia at Lord's. Nearly 110,000 people went through the gates of the London ground over the course of a Test lasting four days. India were reportedly keen to host the next final in two years' time but England have been awarded the finals of the 2027, 2029 and 2031 editions. At its annual conference in Singapore, the ICC noted England's 'successful track record in hosting recent finals', even though Ben Stokes's side are yet to reach the one-off showpiece. 'We are absolutely delighted that England and Wales has been chosen to host the next three ICC World Test Championship finals,' said England and Wales Cricket Board chief executive Richard Gould. 'It's a testament to the passion that fans in this country have for this treasured format of the game and the willingness of supporters from around the world to travel here for these games.' No Sachin Tendulkar! Hashim Amla Picks 3 Best Batters Of All Time

Tendulkar is arguably the greatest batter of all time. The former India opener and captain holds the record for scoring the most runs in the Test and ODI formats of the game. Legendary South African top-order batter and former captain Hashim Amla is in England these days, where he is playing for AB de Villiers-led South Africa Champions in the World Championship of Legends. The 42-year-old right-handed batter scored 15 runs from 18 balls against West Indies Legends on Saturday (July 19) and will next take the field against India Legends at County Ground in Northampton on Tuesday, July 22. Amla, who amassed a total of 2527 runs against India in 52 matches played across formats, ahead of the big match against the Yuvraj Singh-led side, during an interview with Star Sports, was asked to pick his three best batters of all time, and he included one Indian in his list, but surprisingly that name was not Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar, who played for India from November 1989 to November 2013, is arguably the greatest batter of all time. The 51-year-old right-handed batter holds the record of playing the most Tests and ODIs and scoring the most runs in the five-day and 50-over formats of the game. But according to Amla, who finished his career with 18,672 runs in 349 matches for South Africa across formats, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Viv Richards are the three best batters according to him. 'There are so many over the years. Growing up my three favourite players were Brian Lara, Steve Waugh, and Jacques Kallis, also being from South Africa. But also maybe three other names: you've got Virat (Kohli) in recent times, AB de Villiers, and I'd say one more old one—Sir Vivian Richards."
