Vijayawada: BJP state official spokesperson Sadineni Yamini Sarma said India became the fourth largest economy in the world by surpassing Japan. In a press release on Sunday, Yamini Sarma said India achieved a big milestone due to the economic reforms being implemented by the Central government since 2014. She conveyed greetings to the people of India on behalf of Andhra Pradesh. She said economic initiatives like Make in India, Gati Sakthi, Start-up India, trade agreements made with other countries, Atma Nirbhar Bharat, Jan Dhan etc are giving good results. She said Andhra Pradesh too will become Viksit AP. She responded to the NITI Ayog Report which claimed India became the fourth largest economy in the world after the US, China and Germany.

ITI drive to boost skill devpt, make UP youth job ready

1 2 Lucknow: The UP govt has rolled out the 'ITI Chalo Abhiyan' in a bid to enhance skill development and expand employment opportunities for the youth. Aligned with national flagship initiatives such as 'Make in India', 'Start-up India', 'Stand-Up India' and 'Digital India', the campaign aims to encourage admissions for the academic session 2025 in govt and private ITIs across the state. Emphasising vocational and technical education as the foundation of inclusive growth, the initiative focuses on equipping both rural and urban youth with industry-relevant skills to prepare them for gainful employment, officials said. Calling upon all district magistrates to support the campaign, principal secretary, department of vocational education , skill development and entrepreneurship, Hariom said, "The campaign will aid in a secure future for the youth and will position UP as a frontrunner in skill development." He added, "It's a golden opportunity for the state's youth to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the nation's progress." To make the campaign a success, an extensive publicity drive is being carried out in all districts. Promotional materials, including posters and brochures, have been distributed to all ITIs. District inspector of schools and basic education officers have been directed to promote the campaign in schools to raise awareness among students and parents. Similarly, district panchayat raj officers have been instructed to publicise the initiative during gram sabha meetings. Block development officers will also hold sessions with gram pradhans and school authorities to mobilise participation at the grassroots level. Weekly review meetings, chaired by the chief development officers at the district level, will monitor the campaign's progress and ensure timely interventions, said a govt spokesperson. In collaboration with Tata Technologies Ltd, 149 govt ITIs in the state are offering 11 long-term training courses tailored to the demands of modern technologies and industries. These courses are designed to bridge the gap between education and employment, enhancing job readiness among students. Further, the department of vocational education recently signed MoUs with 22 industrial partners, paving the way for employment opportunities for 27,000 youth.

The road is paved with sleepless nights, tough decisions and relentless hustle, said Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandrasekhar. Speaking after inaugurating ADITRI (Advancing Development and Transformation in Rural India), a rural entrepreneurship initiative launched by the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at SRM University-AP, on Saturday, Mr. Chandrasekhar addressed the women entrepreneurs there. 'Preparing to persevere through every obstacle with unwavering determination is the key to success,' he said. The event was marked by the launch of 100 women-led startups. The Union Minister handed over machinery and certificates to women entrepreneurs and lauded the SRM University for extending support to them. Referring to the government schemes and initiatives such as MUDRA, Lakhpati Didi, Start-up India and Stand-up India and digital platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp, he said women entrepreneurs should learn the nuances and grow in their respective areas. 'Today, women can access knowledge on packaging, selling and pricing on their mobile phones,' he said, adding that self-help groups (SHGs) offered both community support and a path to income. Hiring in India's white-collar job market stable in March 2025: Report

Hiring trends in the Indian white-collar job market remained stable in March 2025, according to a report on Wednesday. Most major sectors remained up and ended close to last year's base, with artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI-ML) making a significant mark, with hiring growing at 25 per cent year on year (YoY). However, a few sectors ended up in the red as compared to March 2024: retail (-13 per cent), oil and gas (-10 per cent), and education (-14 per cent), reported IANS. "We were expecting some transient dips owing to the extended holiday weekends in March. However, the overall Index and most major sectors staying stable vs. last year is a promising takeaway for us. Robust growth in pockets like AI-ML, emerging technologies, and senior professionals' cohort added a silver lining to the March trends,' said Goyal, chief business officer, Naukri. Interestingly, the emerging-tech sub-sector under IT that comprises companies working in technologies like crypto and blockchain witnessed a +36 per cent growth. In addition, IT startups also witnessed a +11 per cent growth in March 2025. Sarkar also emphasized the importance of India's burgeoning start-up ecosystem, now the third-largest in the world. "With continued support from initiatives like Start-up India, start-ups in health tech, ed-tech, and green tech are set to generate significant employment, especially for youth and first-time job seekers," he said. The job market revealed a clear preference for specialised technological roles. Machine learning engineers topped the chart with an extraordinary +88 per cent growth, followed by search engineers at +39 per cent and investment banking analysts at +35 per cent, the report said. Similarly, the design sector posted a +30 per cent YoY growth overall, with architecture and interior design sub-sectors seeing a +27 per cent growth in entry-level hiring, the report said.
