Serious crash closes State Highway 1 in Tirau

A serious crash in Tirau has closed State Highway One.
Police were alerted to the two-vehicle crash shortly before 8am on Friday mornings between State Highway 5 and Webster Rd.
A spokesperson said initial indications were that there were serious injuries.
The road was expected to be closed for some time.
Diversions were in place and drivers were warned they should expect delays in the area.
