'Stellar Blade' Developer Has Plans For Sequel And New 'Project Witches' RPG
Korean gaming studio Shift Up has bold plans for the future, unveiling its roadmap over the coming years with plans for a Stellar Blade sequel and a yet-to-be-revealed new action RPG, Project Witches . As revealed during a presentation by the company on 16 May, Shift Up detailed its recent financials, awards, and its plans for the years ahead. Within the presentation slides, a chart showed how the company plans to expand its current franchises going forward, listing out a Stellar Blade sequel among others set to be released before 2027. News of a sequel to its hit 2024 Souls-like Stellar Blade should come as no surprise, considering the game's impressive debut, which saw it sell more than one million copies within a month, with Shift Up already expressing interest in a sequel at the time. According to the chart, a 'platform expansion' is also set to arrive before the game's sequel, which no doubt refers to its upcoming PC version, which is set to launch on 11 June this year, or possibly even a port of the game on the Nintendo Switch 2. Apart from laying out its future plans for both Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke , Shift Up's massively popular mobile title, the company also has another title in the works, codenamed Project Witches . No further information about this mysterious title has been revealed yet, but according to a previous report by the Korean publication Yonhap News Agency (translated by X\Twitter user Genki), the game is described as a 'AAA urban sci-fi action RPG', with further information on Shift Up's hiring page for the title detailing that it will also be a multi-platform game. Of course, plans can still change over the coming years, and it's unclear if any of these revealed projects would be able to hit their intended release windows, but for now, it looks like Stellar Blade 2 is all but confirmed, so fans can look forward to an official announcement or trailer in the near future. ‘Stellar Blade' Sequel Confirmed, Possibly Coming In 2026
Stellar Blade Stellar Blade was one of my favorite games of last year, a stellar (ha) action adventure title that did not deserve the culture war nonsense that surrounded it. Now, fans have some good news. After previously saying a sequel could be in the works, developer SHIFTUP has posted a slide in a recent investor document labelled 'IP expansion on its way with high visibility.' That includes parts of a graph that label 'platform expansion' and 'sequel' which appear to be placed in the 2026 section of the chart, which would be about two years or so after the first game. That's not exactly common in the gaming sphere these days. Stellar Blade The reason for this is that Stellar Blade was a big success for SHIFTUP, financially, critically and with fans. Specifically, Stellar Blade landed a solid 81 metascore among critics and a very high 9.2 among fans. Stellar Blade has consistently been updated with new features like a boss rush but mainly a slate of new costumes where dozens have been added to the game, acquired in various ways. I am not quite sure what 'platform expansion' is, though the best guess is that the game may release on other hardware like Xbox, when previously it was a PlayStation exclusive. There's also the question of the upcoming Switch 2 which would likely have the power to run a new game in 2026, and obviously that console is going to sell quite well. However, it's unclear what sort of deal may be in place with PlayStation, whether it was just for one game or any potential sequels. The document does not address that minus the 'platform expansion' bit. I am still impressed it could be here as soon as 2026, albeit as we know with AAA games, that may end up delayed past whatever the first date or release window is announced. Hopefully we will get more information soon as we head toward the middle of the year, but for now, I suppose we'll just have to be content with this slide and some speculation. 10 excellent games you would be embarrassed to play around non-gamers
Image via: Crystal Dynamics/Eidos-Montréal In the universe of gaming, one thing is certain, not every game is created equal, especially in the view of the uninitiated. Some have pioneered the essence of design and storytelling; yet others will have you fumbling for the pause button and excuses when caught mid-game. Here are 10 games you may very well be proud of playing, but only behind closed doors. 1. Tomb Raider Ara Croft's reboot aimed to redefine the character as a serious and gritty survivor. What we received, however, was a wonderful action-adventure, largely resembling a really late-night adult film. The problem? Each scream uttered by Lara following a climb, fall, or blow definitely does not go well in shared company-and not everyone would enjoy witnessing your outburst. 10 Great Games You'd Be EMBARRASSED to Play Around Non-Gamers 2. Yakuza Series Yakuza is half an undergoing crime drama and half a fever dream. One moment you are doing battle in the underworld, the next you are in a rhythm game or watching women in bug outfits catfight. The tonal whiplash is both the charm and reason for only using headphones. 3. Stellar Blade It is fast and showy, but Eve's outfit comes off with revealing suit-like levels of jiggly physics that would have felt dated ten years ago. Underneath the cheesecake, there is a good game, but once they unlock Eve's "suit," judgmental side eyes, even from fellow gamers, will erupt. 4. Dragon's Crown The Sorceress in particular provides an anatomy lesson on the over-exaggerated side of things. You'll be embarrassed just selecting characters. And while it's an entertaining game, your rational defense for playing is about to die when anyone walks into the room and asks you just what you are playing. 5. Life Is Strange For all its emotional depth and social commentary, "Life Is Strange" bears some of the most excruciating dialogue in gaming. Sure, it tugs on your heartstrings; now try explaining to someone why you're crying over a high-school-breakup simulator rather than merely shutting your console off. 20 PS5 Games That Are Hidden Gems You Missed 6. Bayonetta Series Bayonetta is powerful, witty, but unapologetically odd. Clothes made of hair-letting the hair fly off during combat to summon demons-have got some feminists applauding, others crying "exploitative," while folks walking in at the wrong time will ensure a "damn, what are you playing?" 7. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 The story is epic, the world is wide, and the characters are they hard to ignore. Pyra could break your heart. This fantastic RPG is almost unplayable in public, seeing its characters as if they've been lifted from a fan-service sketchbook. 8. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain A mute assassin who "breathes through her skin" and looks good in strands of clothing pieces. The genius hiding behind stealth gameplay in a Kojima production is often questioned with thick jokes about why on earth your sniper comrade has to be dressed in almost odd dress while committing to warfare. 9. Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball It is a vacation simulator for those who have never left childhood. Physics that provide a bouncing effect are probably better than the actual game mechanics. This is not something you play; you just keep it hidden beneath a pile of more respectable titles. 10 Games With Good Gameplay But DISAPPOINTING STORY 10. Final Fantasy X-2 The sequel to one of the most cherished RPGs in history starts with a J-pop concert and never looks back. Dress spheres, awkward massage minigames, and never-ending "girl power" energy make this one a guilty pleasure even amongst die-hard fans. Not all embarrassment is bad. Some of these defy conventions while others embrace irreverence. One thing for certain, if you're popping any of these on, be sure to lock the door and lower the volume. Because sometimes the cringe is just too loud to ignore, no matter how deep or brilliant the game. Stellar Blade heads to PC on June 11
The well-reviewed Stellar Blade will be available for PC players on June 11, after launching for PS5 in April of last year. This release coincides with a system update that brings new outfits and "exciting additional content." The update will be available for both PC and PS5. The PC version of the game includes some graphical upgrades. It supports NVIDIA DLSS 4 resolution scaling and frame generation, NVIDIA DLAA image enhancement and NVIDIA Reflex latency reduction. It also supports AMD FSR 3 and offers the ability to unlock the frame rate to better suit the needs of a particular PC. It can handle both 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide resolutions. To view this content, you'll need to update your privacy settings. Please click here and view the "Content and social-media partners" setting to do so. Stellar Blade was formerly a PS5 exclusive, so the PC version works with the iconic the DualSense controller. This allows for haptic feedback and adaptive trigger features. For everyone else, the game offers customization options for gamepads, keyboards and mice. As for specs, Sony recommends at least 16GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5 processor and a GeForce GTX 1060. However, that's for playing on the lowest setting. We now live in a post-exclusive world. Sony has been releasing tons of its first-party games for PC. These include Marvel's Spider-Man and the sequel, God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Zero Dawn , to name a few.

Leaked 'Stellar Blade' PC Trailer Reveals 25 Additional Outfits And Extra Boss Fight
A leaked trailer by Sony has revealed more details on the PC release of Shift Up's action epic Stellar Blade , outlining a suit of new features like additional costumes and an extra boss fight, alongside a release date of 11 June 2025. The trailer, which was posted on PlayStation's YouTube channel before being removed (but not before being reposted by numerous other channels), also revealed the game's Complete Edition, which will include the base game and all its currently released DLC for both the PC and PS5. Stellar Blade's PC edition comes with a host of features many would expect from a modern release, including Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3 support, unlocked framerates, ultrawide display support, DualSense controller compatibility with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, higher resolution environmental textures and additional Japanese and Chinese voiceovers. The game's PC version isn't just a simple port, however, as it also brings a host of new content. Notable additions include 25 brand new costumes as well as a new boss fight with Mann, the Leader of the Sentinels and bodyguard of Orcal, the oracle of Xion. In the closing scenes of the trailer, fans have also noticed a cutscene where Eve lets go of a memory stick while drifting in space, a scene which wasn't in the base game, leading to speculation that the title will receive a new ending or additional DLC. This new content will presumably head to the PS5 as well. Originally released in April 2024 exclusively on the PS5, Stellar Blade was a huge success for developer Shift Up, who had previously specialised in mobile titles like 2022's Goddess of Victory: Nikke , selling over one million copies on the platform within two months of release. The game would go on to receive multiple crossover DLCs, such as a collaboration with 2017's Nier: Automata and an outfit inspired by Nikke. Stellar Blade will land on PC on 11 June 2025, with its Complete Edition made available for both PC and PS5, bundling the base game with its two DLCs and additional skins for Eve and her drone.
