Tragic update on Kings Cross nightclub legend who partied hard into the night at wild superyacht rave for his OWN live 'funeral'
One of Sydney 's true kings of the Cross, renowned nightclub identity Stevie Lowe, has died just two months after he celebrated his own death at his wild living wake. The much-loved promoter and chef had been fighting an aggressive throat cancer since being diagnosed with the disease late last year. 'It is with great sadness that we announce that Stevie lost his battle with cancer and passed away gently surrounded by his family and loved ones today,' his family said in a statement released on his Instagram on Friday. 'Stevie will be missed and forever in our hearts... As per his wishes there will be no funeral.' Instead, the nightlife kingpin had held a funeral while he was still alive. In May, he was joined by more than 180 of his closest friends aboard a party boat on Sydney Harbour for a final send-off and 'live funeral' before he headed into palliative care. 'I'd had this pain in my chest for probably a year or so and I always just dismissed it as indigestion,' Lowe told Daily Mail Australia at the time. 'I went to a few GPs and they just told me to take [heartburn medication] Nexium or something like that. 'Finally, in late November last year, I went and saw a specialist, and they sent me in for an endoscopy, and that's when they found the tumor on my esophagus and it just went from there. 'I went through a very stringent radiation treatment, which was really brutal. It was daily treatments for three weeks and it wasn't until at the very end that the pain and agony really started to kick in. 'Unfortunately, it had already metastasised to my liver, so it's stage-four cancer. It's now just a process of palliative care until, until the time comes - that's why I thought I'd throw a party.' Lowe admitted he had initially been a little apprehensive about the idea of holding a 'live funeral' to mark the end of his life. But he said that, the more he thought about it, the more he realised he wanted his friends to remember him at his bright-spirited, fun-loving best, rather than during the dark days to come. 'It was actually my sister's idea - she'd heard about people doing these "live wakes",' Lowe said. 'At first, I was like, "That sounds a bit morbid," but she said, "Well, no, actually think about it." 'And she was right, you know. We've all been to funerals, and they're f***ing miserable - people have to take the morning off work, then you have to go to a church and all that sort of stuff. 'Then there's this sad after-party, and you just can't wait to get the f*** out of there - it's all so depressing. 'So I thought, you know what, I'd rather my friends see me now, albeit all 60 kilos of me when I used to be 85 kilos, but I'd rather they see me and remember me this way than come to see me in a hospital and feeding tubes and s*** like that. 'I thought it was a more dignified option - so I said, "Okay, let's do it - let's throw a live funeral" - and it seems it was really well received and reciprocated, which was wonderful.' Despite his strong links to the King Cross nightclub scene, Lowe said he ultimately decided to take to the harbour for his last big bash. 'I booked one of those large pontoon boats through All Occasion Cruises, which I used to work for as a catering chef. Yeah, and I put an invite out about a month ago, and I got about 180 RSVPs,' he said. The invitation asked guests to 'forget the sad stuff' and sitting through a 'depressing wake' and instead celebrate his life 'on a boat, martini in hand'. 'I had a very dear friend of mine who's the GM at Hugo's, do the em-ceeing and welcome everybody aboard to have a drink,' he said. 'Then I basically gave a speech saying, "Guys, this is where I'm at. To save you asking me how I am all night: This is where I'm at. 'And, "this is where I'm going. And I'm just really, really happy that you've all taken the time to come because... this is how I want to leave you".' Among those who joined Lowe for the sea-borne soiree were a Who's Who of the Harbour City's fashion and luxury identities. They included television presenter Sophie Falkiner, former model Michelle Leslie, swimsuit designer Tali Jatali, stylist Mars Marsanic, Pip Edward's interior designer ex Josh Clapp, Chic models boss Kathy Ward, Luxe Cruising Group founder Scott Robinson and luxury experience director Louisa Dickson. The sad part about having cancer is you've actually got the time to plan ... but at the same time, I'm glad I did. Everybody I invited pretty much came and they had the best time. 'There was lots of lots of tears, lots of hugs, but also lots of laughs, because I'm not, I'm not going out in a fit of depression and f***ing tears and all that sort of stuff. 'Instead, I spent the night catching up with all my friends, yeah, and just like sitting down with them and having a drink with them and having a laugh with them and having a hug - you know that to me, is better than anything. 'It was just a really, really good way to sort of go.' He said he appreciated all the fun and friends he had made over the past six decades and asked that they always remember the good times. 'I've been very, very fortunate - I've had an absolutely fantastic life.' 'I had all best time with all the nightclub stuff that I did; I had an icon on Oxford Street: [my nightclub] called Nevermind; and I got to meet people like George Michael and Lady Gaga through it - it's been a wild ride. 'So when all my mates ask, "What else have you got on your bucket list?" I can honestly say, "I've pretty much done it all. I've nailed it. I don't have anything that I need to do." 'I went to Switzerland in January with my family to go skiing, and that was very special for me, because it'll be the last time I'll be able to do that. So that was wonderful. 'So if that's it... please just remember me as that guy who let you into best nightclubs, bought them drinks and had a great time with you - because it truly was fun.'

Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham tease reissue of 1973's Buckingham Nicks album
Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham look set to reissue their 1973 Buckingham Nicks album. The former couple, who haven't been on good terms since guitarist Lindsey was axed from the group once again in 2018 in acrimonious circumstances, unexpectedly shared a pair of matching Instagram posts last Thursday (17.07.25), fuelling speculation of a Fleetwood Mac reunion. Stevie shared a handwritten line from their 1973 song Frozen Love from the Buckingham Nicks LP, which read: 'And if you go forward…' Lindsey then shared a near-identical post with the next line: 'I'll meet you there." And that's not all, bandmate Mick Fleetwood went on to share a video of himself listening to the track, which was shared onto the group's Instagram page, too. His post was captioned: "Magic then, magic now." On Monday (21.07.25), meanwhile, a billboard of the pair's controversial topless album cover was spotted by fans on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, teasing a release date of September 19. One X user shared a photo of the promo and captioned it: 'stevie nicks and lindsey buckingham on a billboard together. buckingham nicks is officially happening. september 19. this is at 7365 sunset blvd and no it's not photoshop or AI or anything else i saw it with my own two eyes that i cried tears out of after. (sic)" Buckingham and Nicks was recorded at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, and was released the year before Stevie and Lindsey joined the Dreams band. Although it wasn't a commercial success, it led drummer Mick to invite Stevie and Lindsey to join the legendary rock band. Mick previously admitted he is keen for Stevie and Lindsey to put their differences aside. The sticksman - who co-founded the iconic rock band in the 1960s - told Us Weekly: "I always have a fantasy that [Stevie] and Lindsey would pal up a bit more and just say everything's OK for them both. But we've had such an incredible career." Mick planned to reunite the band before Christine McVie passed away in November 2022, aged 79. The veteran musician has "struggled" to find a direction since Christine's passing - but he remains hopeful of working with another band in 2026. Mick shared: "I miss playing as much as we used to. I'm hoping next year, one way or another, some band somewhere will say, come and play with drums or something. "So I always love to do whatever I can do working on an album that next year we may tour with it. I don't know, [but] not Fleetwood Mac." Meanwhile, Mick previously admitted that he would love for their to be "a healing" between Stevie and Lindsey. The musician hopes that they can mend their relationship, even if it doesn't lead to a Fleetwood Mac reunion. Mick told MOJO: "It's no secret, it's no tittle-tattle that there is a brick wall there emotionally. "Stevie's able to speak clearly about how she feels and doesn't feel, as does Lindsey. But I'll say, personally, I would love to see a healing between them - and that doesn't have to take the shape of a tour, necessarily."

I Know What You Did Last Summer: 10 burning questions the ending finally answers
The hook is back, and this time, it's personal and cuts deep. The 2025 reboot of the 1997 horror I Know What You Did Last Summer pulls a new group of friends into the same nightmare. Writer-director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and co-writer Sam Lansky bring in Ava (Chase Sui Wonders), Danica (Madelyn Cline), Milo (Jonah Hauer-King), Teddy (Tyriq Withers), and Stevie (Sarah Pidgeon), a fresh batch of twenty-somethings who make a fatal mistake and bolt. What starts as a direct reboot turns into darker, messier, and way more twisted, packed with returning faces and brutal betrayals. Let's break down that wild ending with 10 burning questions. Spoilers Ahead Ava, Danica, Milo, Teddy, and Stevie are a group of friends living in Southport, N.C. One Fourth of July night, they cause a accident while over-speeding when a truck swerves to avoid them, crashes through a guardrail, and falls off the cliff with the driver inside. They try to help, decide to call cops, but panic and run. Teddy's dad, Grant (a powerful real estate guy), uses his influence to bury it. The story begins a year later when all those friends are now nearly estranged. However, once they arrive back in Southport, Danica gets a note: 'I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER.' Soon after, people around them are murdered by a Fisherman, just like in the original two stories, with a hook and speargun, mimicking the 1997 killing spree. Also read: Wall to wall ending explained: Who's the real noise maker in Kang Ha Neul's Netflix psychological thriller? The friends run to the survivors of the original attacks. Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Ray Bronson (Freddie Prinze Jr.) reprise their roles. Meanwhile, Sarah Michelle Gellar's Helen also has a small cameo when she appears in Danica's dream to warn her. Wyatt (Danica's fiancé), true-crime podcaster Tyler, Pastor Judah, along with Teddy, Milo, and Grant, are among those who were killed. This season we've got two hook-wielding pyschos, Stevie and Ray. Stevie's motive is driven by revenge after she finds out the driver they accidentally killed was Sam. This is the same person who helped her post rehab, her pseudo boyfriend. She didn't realise it at first, but rage drives her to become the Fisherman. But the bigger jaw-dropper is the involvement of Ray. Years of repressed trauma, being ghosted by Southport, and watching the town erase the past make him go insane. Stevie's grief starts to feel personal to him, and together they plot the same massacre. Ava and Danica try to escape on a boat, only for Stevie to make the big reveal she had been hiding from her friends. At first, Stevie plans to spare Ava, considering she was the only one at the time of the accident who argued that they should stay and help the victim, but she changes her plan as she attacks Danica, stabs her, and she falls off the boat. But just then, Ray shows up, pretends to save the day, even 'shoots' Stevie, and takes Ava back to the bar. Back at his bar, Ava finds Ray with a new bandage exactly where the Fisherman cut himself earlier. He attacks Ava and just in time, Jennifer Love Hewitt shows up. When Ray stabs Ava, Julie confronts him, demands answers, and even throws back her iconic 'What are you waiting for?' line. And, then Ava harpoons Ray from behind. That's horror code for: still out there. Danica is alive somehow washes up on shore. Last we see, she and Ava are on the beach, bruised, hungry, and cracking jokes about hunting Stevie down. Mid-credits, Julie visits Karla Wilson (Brandy), another survivor from the old sequel. Next we see Karla's face is crossed out in a photo with a threatening note. She asks, 'Who do we have to f— up this time?' Then credits roll. No sequel announcement yet but it might happen soon.

I Know What You Did Last Summer 2025 Ending, Explained
Spoilers for I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) ahead. Growing up in a town where a serial killer known as "the Fisherman" brutally murdered multiple people didn't have much of an effect on the next generation. In the new I Know What You Did Last Summer, a new group of friends try to bury a secret, only for a killer to hunt them down the following year. Then, while fighting off the murderous stalker, they also have to try to figure out the killer's identity before it's too late and they're all bought to their demise one by one. If you're familiar with the first movie, it's no surprise that the ending of I Know What You Did Last Summer includes a big reveal involving the murderer. But, this sequel adds on to that with a second major reveal and a surprising mid-credits scene. The explanation of what really went down is said pretty quickly during a pivotal scene, so if you didn't quite catch who did what and why, keep reading. And if you haven't seen the movie yet, turn back now! A horror mystery isn't going to be very enjoyable if you already know the outcome. Toward the end of the movie, Ava (Chase Sui Wonders) and Danica (Madelyn Cline) flee on a boat that is driven by Stevie (Sarah Pidgeon) as suggested by Ray (Freddie Prinze Jr.). The best friends think that they are escaping the killer, but suddenly they hear the anchor go down. Stevie is trapping them. That means... Yep, Stevie comes around the corner in that telltale fisherman's slicker ready to take Ava and Danica down. Stevie explains that she was dating Sam, the guy who died in the car accident at the beginning (which the friends sort of caused, but, honestly, that's arguable). Stevie met Sam after she got out of rehab and went through a hard family situation, and he and his church helped her through this tough time in her life. So, once she found out it was Sam who died, she wanted to get revenge on the friends for his death and for not going to the police station afterward. She also felt betrayed by them already because they had stopped reaching out to her when she needed them most. Obviously, she "knew what they did last summer" because she was there, invited at the last-minute to hang out with them. She didn't go to the police station on her own, because Teddy (Tyriq Withers) said his rich and powerful father (Billy Campbell) would take care of it and make sure no one knew they were involved, and she felt backed into a corner because she wouldn't be able to afford legal help. The other big twist is that there's a second killer: Ray. Stevie worked for Ray at his bar, and he'd promised her dad that he'd take care of her. In the boat scene, Ray arrives and ends up seemingly killing Stevie after Stevie kills Danica, causing Stevie to fall off the side of the boat into the water. This is reminiscent of when Ray helps rescue Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) in the 1997 movie. Afterward, Ava goes to Ray's bar, and tells him that, wow, trauma really does mess with people and she can't imagine that Stevie was able to kill so many people on her own... Wait a minute! Ray must be a killer, too! Ava attempts to flee the bar, but Ray stops her. He tells her that Stevie wanted Ava to live, because she was the only one who initially wanted to tell the police the truth in the Sam situation. But while Ray encouraged Stevie to mimic the original Fisherman killer and seek revenge, he wanted in on the action for his own reason, too: He didn't like that the town had decided to gloss over the trauma that he and Julie went through and the loss of their friends 30 years ago. And, as Julie teaches in her course (she's a psychology professor now!), trauma really changes you. Julie learns of her ex-husband Ray's connection to Stevie, and realizes he might be the killer. So, she shows up at his bar at just the right time to confront him, giving Ava enough time to grab a weapon and kill Ray. This leaves Ava and Julie as survivors. Then, it's revealed that Danica did not actually die, when she washes up injured on the shoreline. Then, it's revealed in a conversation between Danica and Ava, while they are healing from their injuries, that Stevie isn't actually dead, either. Best friends Danica and Ava both getting to live feels like a nod to the first movie, in which Julie's BFF Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is killed. Many fans felt like Helen should have been the final girl of that movie, and this version lets both friends be survivors. The movie itself features a number of references to the first movie, but the mid-credits scene is all about the 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Suddenly, Brandy pops up on screen as her character Karla, Julie's college roommate from the sequel. Karla is watching a news report about what just went down in Southport, and says, "People are always trying to kill that woman" in reference to Julie. And then, what do ya know, Julie shows up at her door with a photo of the two of them together and a note reading, "This isn't over." Julie asks for Karla's help, and she replies, "Who are we fucking up this time?" I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Like, Really, I Know What You Did, I'm Not Kidding? When's that hitting theaters?
