Ross Duffer Shuts Down Rumours, Says Leaked Stranger Things 5 Runtimes Are Fake
A viral leak claiming to reveal the episode lengths of Stranger Things Season 5 has been shut down by the show's co-creator, Ross Duffer. After a screenshot showing the supposed runtimes for all eight episodes started circulating online, Duffer took to Instagram to respond. 'Lol not even close to accurate," he wrote on his Instagram Story, calling out the fake leak. The screenshot, which included a 'Property of Netflix" watermark, claimed that most episodes would be nearly two hours long, with the finale stretching even longer, similar to a full-length movie. This sparked excitement and confusion among fans, especially since director Shawn Levy had earlier mentioned that some later episodes could be feature-length. But Duffer's post made it clear that the leaked runtimes are not real. The Stranger Things team has been careful not to spoil anything about the final season. After Netflix dropped the first teaser on July 16, Duffer reassured fans by saying, 'Don't worry about spoilers – this teaser pulls from every episode except 7, but it's mostly Volume One and just barely scratches the surface." Season 5 will be released in three parts. The first part, which includes the first four episodes, arrives on Netflix on November 26. The second part, with three episodes, comes out on Christmas Day, and the finale will stream on December 31. The final season promises a big showdown.
