One Piece season 2 confirms 2026 release, Mikaela Hoover cast as Chopper

The fan-favorite reindeer doctor Tony Tony Chopper joins the Straw Hat crew in Netflix's adaptation of one of Japan's biggest anime franchises, One Piece. It looks like Netflix's live-action adaptation of One Piece is charting a course into uncharted waters. Netflix has announced that Season 2 of One Piece will be released in 2026, this time, one of the most popular characters from the anime is finally joining the diverse crew — Tony Tony Chopper. Fury of the Gods, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3), has been cast as the voice of Chopper, but will serve as the facial motion capture for the adorable half-reindeer, half-human doctor. Who is Tony Tony Chopper? Tony Tony Chopper is one of the key crew members aboard the Straw Hat Pirates, under the leadership of the adventurous and stretchy rubber monster pirate Monkey D. Luffy. Chopper is a reindeer who consumed the Human-Human Fruit, which gives him the power to speak, walk on two legs, and even change into various forms. Tasked with the care of humans and AI alike, he becomes the crew's doctor, and a favorite for his sweet persona and even sweeter heart. In the anime and manga, Chopper first joins the crew during the Drum Island arc, which Season 2 should be covering. Mikaela Hoover brings Chopper to life in Netflix's One Piece Netflix's upcoming live-action One Piece series will have some sort of similar direction, with Castlevania and Suicide Squad actress Mikaela Hoover not only voicing Chopper but performing facial snap too, adding emotional nuance to the CG character. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The casting announcement came during Netflix's worldwide Tudum fan event from the original series' returning members, including Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji). This choice of character design is a strong indication of Netflix's willingness to make sure Castor is an expressive character and one that remains devoted to his anime origins. One Piece season 2 expands its star-studded cast In addition to continuing the epic story set into motion by the first season, the new season will introduce a whole new world of characters and headline-grabbing villains like those from the Baroque Works saga and the Drum Island arc. New cast members for One Piece season 2 are: Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday Photo: Netflix Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0 (Crocodile) Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha. Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday (Nico Robin) Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk Camrus Johnson as Mr 5 Rob Colletti as Wapol Ty Keogh as Dalton. Callum Kerr as Smoker Brendan Sean Murray as Brogy . Werner Coetser as Dorry Gunter Werner Coetser a host of others Inclusion of these characters suggests the live-action adaptation will tackle some of the biggest arcs to come out of the Arabasta Saga, a fan-favorite arc packed with political intrigue, action, and heartbreaking moments. Returning cast of One Piece season 2 The original Straw Hats are returning as well for Season 2: Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Other returning cast members include Ilia Isorelys Paulino (Alvida), Jeff Ward (Buggy), and Michael Dorman (Gol D. Roger). Behind the scenes: One Piece live-action creators The new live-action series, which is a collaboration between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios, is being produced in conjunction with the original manga's Japanese publisher Shueisha. Bud Greenspan, Frank Marshall, Joe Roth, and Matthew McConkey are the executive producers. Eiichiro Oda (mangaka, creator of One Piece) Matt Owens and Joe Tracz (co-showrunners and writers) Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements (Tomorrow Studios) Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes & Steven Maeda After the colossal worldwide phenomenon that was Season 1 — it reached No. 1 on Netflix charts in 91 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom — expectations are sky-high for Season 2, as fans across the globe clamored for more. When will One Piece season 2 be released? Netflix has officially announced that One Piece Season 2 will be released in 2026. No specific release month has been released so far, but the cameras are already rolling. Due to the scale of the CG and motion capture work needed for Chopper, the longer production timeline is warranted. Fans can look forward to new episodes launching exclusively on Netflix around the world in mid to late 2026. First look at Chopper in One Piece season 2 Netflix has provided a first look at Tony Tony Chopper, allowing fans to see how the cutie-patootie hybrid character will look. Though not much has been unveiled yet, the first visual is promising, indicating a true-to-the-source but realistic approach, blending CG with emotional humanity which is due largely to Hoover's motion capture. Netflix's One Piece live-action series is not just another anime adaptation. It's a global event. The adaptation transports one of Japan's most beloved stories to audiences around the world for the first time, and as monumental as a live-action Luffy or Zoro are, actually seeing a CGI Chopper is a huge leap forward. For our newer fans, this will be the season to get invested in epic emotional backstories, new Jumanji islands and cool warrior like battles. For manga readers and longtime anime fans, it's an opportunity to see iconic characters — Chopper! Robin! Crocodile! — in a brand new light. One Piece: Oda confirms Luffy needs a new power-up stronger than Gear 5 and conqueror's haki

The Final Saga kicks into gear, the Straw Hat captain will have to contend with his most formidable opponent yet—Imu, a god-like king even more powerful than Kaido. One Piece's world is on the brink of its largest climax yet. After more than 25 years of piracy, the saga is entering its Final Saga after all this time, and creator Eiichiro Oda is doing all he can to ensure fans know what's really at stake. In another significant spoiler, Oda admitted that even with the immense powers of Luffy's Gear 5 and his advanced Haki, he will require an even more unrealized potential to beat the order's ultimate villain Imu. One Piece is an internationally beloved, record-breaking manga and anime franchise about the adventures of Luffy, a boy whose body has turned into rubber and who dreams of becoming King of the Pirates. To stay competitive with villains that have come before him, Luffy has been given new powerful transformations and fighting styles, becoming more powerful in every story arc. In this Final Saga, even his strongest forms might not be enough. Luffy reached Yonko-level in wano, but that's still not enough During the Wano Country arc, Luffy was able to take full advantage of Gear 5 once his Devil Fruit had awoken. This transformation provided him with almost cartoon-like liberties in combat, enabling him to contort, extend, and otherwise manipulate the field of play to suit his preferences. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Encontre voos low-cost Voos | Anúncios de Pesquisa Saiba Mais Undo On top of this, he developed the ability to coat his strikes in Conqueror's Haki, a special kind of spiritual energy only the most powerful characters can master. 'This is my peak! This is Gear 5!' — Monkey D. Luffy During the Wano arc of One Piece, he uses these powers to defeat Kaido, the world's strongest creature. With that victory, Luffy became a Yonko himself. He is one of the four empire-building pirates calling the shots in the New World. Now, a much larger menace has come: Imu, the true lord of the world. Imu's power is beyond anything we've seen before When it comes to the main villain of One Piece, I do believe that Imu is almost unlike any other villain fans have gotten in this series. Imu's first major appearance came during the Wano arc earlier this year, in which he's revealed to control the World Government from the shadows and has lived for centuries, perhaps even since the Void Century. In Chapter 1149, fans were treated to a first-hand account of Imu releasing unimaginable powers, all the while manipulating a creature called Gunko. Not only is Imu physically powerful, they possess Conqueror's Haki, can (as we've discussed here) grant others immortality, and might even share powers with the Five Elders—who have all become powerful yokai thanks to dark abilities. 'Allow Mu to show thee the dominance of a God!' — Imu Additionally, it's implied that Imu's powers go beyond the physical and influence the soul, rendering them virtually immune to defeat by outside force. Even Joy Boy, a mythical hero credited with being even stronger than current Luffy, might not have been able to defeat Imu in the past. Gear 5 and haki aren't enough to win the final war If Luffy's ever going to achieve victory, he'll require a lot more than just Gear 5 and Conqueror's Haki. Based on these theories and recent developments as well as Oda's foreshadowing, it seems like Luffy will need to learn or discover new techniques that can affect the soul in order to harm or defeat Imu. This might mean: Mastering Gear 5 deeper, unlocking potential With Mastering Gear 5 deeper, tapping into various new abilities. Better still would be perfecting all three varieties of Haki, namely Observation, Armament, and Conqueror's. Discovering these soul-based attacks might be the key in defeating the immortals Receiving counsel from influential mentors, such as the enigmatic Scopper Gaban who should finally return to help train Luffy Where to read and watch One Piece The new One Piece chapter is serving all that hype as well right now in the Final Saga. Chapter 1151 will come out officially on … June 7, 2025 (Saturday) – for most of the rest of the world Free to read on Manga Plus and Viz Media Fans are looking forward to learning more about Imu, taking a deeper dive into Luffy's training, and even getting a glimpse at the start of his next transformation. Read the Manga Free and legal on Manga Plus and Watch the English Dub Available on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Funimation Luffy's journey thus far has seen him overcome every limit, yet with One Piece's recently-announced Final Saga promises to be his greatest test to date. With the fate of the entire world at stake fans are more thrilled than ever to find out what sort of new power Luffy will tap to finally beat the strongest villain in the story's long history. ‘One Piece' Live-Action Season 2 unveils first look at fan-favorite Tony Tony Chopper

One Piece fans finally got a long-awaited reveal during Netflix's TUDUM 2025 event — the first look at Tony Tony Chopper, the lovable reindeer hybrid joining the live-action series in Season 2, slated for release in 2026. Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji), appeared live to tease the upcoming season, which looks to expand the Straw Hat crew in a major way. At center stage was the introduction of Chopper, a shy, pint-sized, blue-nosed reindeer with a giant pink top hat. For those unfamiliar, Chopper was introduced in Chapter 134 of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga in 2000 and made his anime debut in 2001. A reindeer who ate the Human-Human Fruit, Chopper can shift between anthropomorphic reindeer forms when required. His name is a nod to the Japanese word 'tonakai' for reindeer.
