5 Reliable Cars That Will Have Massive Price Drops in Summer 2025
The impact of Trump's tariffs on car prices may have you thinking twice about buying a vehicle this summer. However, it's still quite possible to find good deals — and perhaps snag a reliable vehicle with a big price drop this summer. Consider These: Learn More: Here are some factors to consider as we head into the summer car buying season. 'We're entering a rare window where some of the most reliable cars on the road are also the most negotiable,' said Zach Shefska, CEO and co-founder of CarEdge. 'Models like the Nissan Altima and Subaru Legacy are being phased out, while others like the Honda Passport and Toyota RAV4 are making way for redesigned versions. That's a recipe for aggressive summer discounts.' For discerning buyers, especially those who prioritize long-term value and dependability, June and July could offer serious opportunities. Shefska said that's especially true, as dealers start clearing out inventory ahead of 2026 releases. Keep in mind that it never hurts to shop around — both at dealers and online — and negotiate for even better prices. I'm a Car Expert: Shefska shared with GOBankingRates a list of five reliable cars that'll have massive price drops this summer, along with reasons why these particular vehicles will be discounted. Subaru Launches Killer 2025 Legacy Lease Deal
The Subaru Legacy is reaching the end of the road as the brand will soon end production of the all-wheel drive sedan. The roomy and capable Legacy can be credited with pioneering the all-wheel drive sedan class, and it has spanned 35 years and seven generations, providing families with four-season traction, excellent safety ratings, and great value. The 2025 Legacy ($25,210) comes in five trims: Base, Premium, Limited, Sport, and Touring XT. The two engine choices include a 180-horsepower 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder and a 260-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder, both mated to a CVT. This month, Subaru is offering the Legacy with a great lease deal that makes it even more affordable than its already remarkably low base price. This month's lease deal on the 2025 Subaru Legacy Base is a tremendous value. The low-mileage lease goes for just $279 per month for 36 months and 10,000 miles per year. Total due at signing is $3,279, and no security deposit is required. Total monthly payments amount to $10,044, and there's a purchase option of $15,300 at the end of the lease term. Lessees must take delivery by June 2, 2025. Learn more here. The 180-horsepower base engine of the Legacy Base won't tear up the asphalt, but the ride is smooth and comfortable for hours on end. It also manages pavement imperfections quite well. The 0-60 mph sprint takes about 8 seconds, which isn't especially quick, nor is it tepid. On top of that, it nets 30 mpg in combined driving, which isn't bad for a non-hybrid family sedan. The standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system is capable, continuously sending power to all four wheels for a consistent and predictable driving experience. The Legacy's cabin is roomy and well-executed, with 39.5 inches of rear legroom, more than many of its competitors. It also provides 37.2 inches of rear headroom and 57.4 inches of rear shoulder room, ample for tall passengers. Cargo space is 15.1 cubic feet, the same as the popular Toyota Camry. Standard equipment on the Legacy Base includes 17-inch alloy wheels with machine finish, steering-responsive LED headlights, paddle shifters, automatic climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen, tire pressure monitoring, and keyless entry. It also comes standard with Subaru's robust EyeSight driver assist technology, which provides automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering. The vehicle also earned a 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA. The 2025 Subaru Legacy is a tried and true midsize family sedan that's affordable, safe, and provides all-wheel drive assurance. It successfully carries the Subaru name by providing great standard safety features, ample space, and solid tech for its five occupants. Whether it's for daily commuting or long road trips, the Legacy is more than capable of traversing roadways, dirt trails, and city streets smoothly and comfortably. Despite the lack of a hybrid variant, the Legacy is efficient. Before signing the lease agreement, be aware of taxes and registration fees, coupled with the total amount due.
