Telangana: BJP slams CM Revanth Reddy for prioritising 'Photo-ops' over governance

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 31 (ANI): The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday, accusing him of reducing the Chief Minister's Office to a stage for photo-ops and media spectacles, rather than addressing serious issues of governance. In a sharp statement, BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-Charge N.V. Subash criticised Revanth Reddy for what he described as 'bizarre and irresponsible' behaviour unbecoming of a state leader. He accused the Chief Minister of parroting false narratives that appear more in tune with Pakistan's propaganda than with the sentiments of Indian citizens. Referring to Revanth Reddy's recent remarks questioning the Modi government's military record and alleging failure to reclaim Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Subash said, 'Is he living in a fantasy? Even a national daily that once published such claims had to retract them after the Defence Ministry clarified the facts. Yet, the CM chooses to repeat these lies, presumably to curry favour with his party high command--Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi--thanks to whom he parachuted into the CM's chair.' Subash questioned whether the Chief Minister had any respect for the Indian Armed Forces, pointing out that the Directorate General of Military Operations (DGMO) had long clarified the facts Revanth continues to distort. 'Even a staunch BJP critic like AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi has no hesitation in calling out Pakistan's duplicity. But Revanth Reddy, in a stunning display of ignorance, appears to justify the enemy nation's claims,' he said. Taking a dig at the Chief Minister's priorities, Subash added, 'It is unfortunate that Revanth Reddy seems more thrilled about appearing alongside Miss World on tomorrow's front pages than expressing solidarity with the nation at a time of heightened tensions with our rogue neighbour, Pakistan.' He further mocked the CM for predicting Rahul Gandhi as India's future Prime Minister. 'Even his party members would laugh at that suggestion,' Subash quipped. The BJP Chief Spokesperson urged the Chief Minister to 'exercise restraint and responsibility' in public discourse, stating that such reckless commentary not only damages Revanth Reddy's credibility but also tarnishes the image of Telangana, a state that played a stellar role in India's freedom struggle. High-speed chase: Cop on bike pursues, boards, secures truck

Chennai: It was a scene straight out of the movies. A hijacked truck speeds down a crowded highway, police personnel on bikes give chase and one of them acrobatically clambers on to the truck and tries to pull out the driver. Finally, after a 10km run, the driver crashes the truck. This actually happened on Tuesday on Trichy-Chennai highway near the Paranur toll plaza. Police said Kamalakannan was driving a truck with M-sand from Chengalpet towards Vandalur when, at the Paranur toll plaza, he found there was insufficient balance in the FASTag account. So, he parked the truck by the roadside and called up its owner, Anbu, a resident of Kelambakkam in Chengalpet. Just then a man lurking near the toll plaza suddenly jumped into the lorry and drove away toward Chennai. Kamalakkannan informed patrolling police teams who via walkie-talkie alerted police stationed at Mahindra City and Singaperumal Koil. They set up barricades, but the truck crashed through and sped away. Policemen gave chase on two-wheelers. One of them climbed on to the speeding truck and tried to pull the suspect out. Police surrounded and captured him after a brief struggle. Witnesses said they were lucky, no one was hurt during the truck's reckless journey. Police identified the runaway driver as Subash, 35, from Palayamkottai. Police said Subash had been wandering around the Paranur toll plaza for the past two days, apparently mentally unwell. They suspect that the previous night he broke into a nearby temple and stole construction materials. He also reportedly attempted to rob women walking alone in the area. Subash has been sent him to the Institute of Mental Health, Kilpauk, for observation.

Who are real 'saudagars'- Cong or Jaishankar: Telangana BJP slams Rahul

In a strongly worded rebuttal to what it described as "deliberate distortion and dangerous rhetoric," the Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has condemned the Congress party's attempt to malign External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The BJP called out senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his loyalist Pawan Khera for twisting a firm diplomatic warning to Pakistan into a bizarre narrative, branding the Indian minister as an "informant" or "saudagar" (trader). The State BJP's Chief Spokesperson and Media In-Charge, NV Subash, minced no words in calling the Congress's statements "not just irresponsible, but laughably ignorant." He said, "It is unfortunate and disgraceful that the Congress, instead of standing with the Indian government and the Armed Forces after a successful and precise warning to Pakistan for its role in the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, is stooping to petty politics." The BJP leader reminded the public of the recent brutal terror attack in Pahalgam in which 26 innocent Hindu pilgrims lost their lives. "Is it wrong for a sovereign country to warn a hostile neighbour that continues to harbour terrorists responsible for killing our citizens? The External Affairs Minister's statement was a warning, not a compromise--and it was followed by decisive action, not appeasement. That's not diplomacy-for-sale, that's leadership," Subash said. He further pointed out that India's Armed Forces, acting in complete synergy with political leadership, have already inflicted heavy damage on terror outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, besides rendering multiple Pakistani airbases inoperative. "Congress can no longer hide behind ambiguity. The nation knows the truth - and so does the world," he added. He said the nation knows who asked for 'saboot' in the past and called the names of the Army Chief. Calling the Congress's behaviour a continuation of its long history of appeasement and apologism towards Pakistan, Subash noted that this is not the first time the party has chosen to question Indian intent and capability. "Let us not forget that senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar once, during his visit to Pakistan, has appealed on its television channel to help 'remove' a democratically elected Indian Prime Minister. If that is not the definition of being a 'saudagar', then what is?" In a sarcastic swipe at Congress's intellectual bankruptcy, Subash said, "It was once believed only Rahul Gandhi was ill-informed and immature - a 'Pappu', as labelled by his own party members. But clearly, this condition has now spread to others like Pawan Khera, who parrot anti-national lines without understanding the gravity of their statements." Taking a dig at the Congress party's crumbling credibility, Subash said, "If issuing a clear warning to the enemy is considered being an informant, then God save the principal Opposition party. The Congress is fast losing the faith of the people and the trust of the nation. This is not just political decline--it is a moral collapse." Subash emphasised that the External Affairs Minister's statement had already been clarified and endorsed by India's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), who confirmed the authenticity and necessity of India's posture against cross-border terrorism. The BJP has demanded that Congress issue an unconditional apology to the people of India and the families of the Pahalgam attack victims for politicising national security. "When our brave soldiers and diplomats are risking their lives to secure India, the least our Opposition can do is not betray them with misplaced sarcasm and misinformed criticism." The State BJP warned that any attempts to weaken India's global position or demoralise its security establishment will be met with firm public opposition. "Congress needs to introspect. The days of selling fear and confusion are over. The people of India now demand clarity, courage, and commitment. And they will not tolerate traitorous undertones masquerading as political debate," Subash said.
