Miss World 2025 Suchata writes heartfelt note to children killed in Hyderabad fire accident
HYDERABAD: Miss World 2025 Suchata Chuangsri expressed deep sorrow over the loss of 17 lives in the Gulzar Houz fire accident on May 18 in Hyderabad. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, she recalled her emotional encounter with the children, who died in the accident, during her visit to the city earlier this month. In the social media post, Suchata, who was crowned in Hyderabad, said the city holds a special place in her heart. During her first few days in the city, she visited a pearl shop near Charminar. While at the shop, she spent time designing pearl accessories with the local artisans and was warmly welcomed by the shopkeeper's children. 'The little girls were so excited to see me. One of them had even asked her mother to find her a special dress so she could look beautiful for the visit,' she recalled. "She already looked beautiful no matter what she wore."

World No.1 Kunlavut Vitidsarn proved his worth as the top player in the world after winning the men's singles crown while the mixed doubles pair of Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran also won in style. A True South-East Asian Beauty At the Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, India, and the Miss World show was celebrated with great splendour as Suchata was judged as the fairest of them all. She was officially crowned by the 2024 winner, Ms Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic. The competition's final rankings saw Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia as the first runner-up, Maja Klajda of Poland as the second runner-up, and Aurelie Joachim of Martinique as the third runner-up. Miss World 2025 commenced with a dazzling parade featuring contestants in their national costumes, followed by an elegant showcase where each participant took the stage individually in breathtaking evening gowns, organised by continent. I have always believed that no matter who we are, how old we are or what roles we take on in life,there is always someone who looks up to could be a child, a friend or even our parents. 'The best way to guide them is through leadership rooted in kindness and action, because our actions always speak louder than words. Second-seeded Kunlavut dominated the men's singles final, defeating China's Lu Guangzu 21-6, 21-10 in just 37 minutes. Hyderabad, Jun 1 (UNI) Thailand's Miss World 2025 winner Opal Suchata Chuangsri on Sunday said she believes that 'if one sets a goal and works hard, success is guaranteed'. Last year Miss World Krystyna Pyszková of the Czech Republic crowned Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand at the final colour event held at the Hitex Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad on Saturday night. This is the first time Thailand has won in the history of the pageant and the second Southeast Asian country to receive the title. Speaking reporters at the Trident Hotel here, Suchata while describing her victory, said it is not just her personal win but a victory for every contestant and their purpose. ' I have been working on breast cancer awareness and fundraising in Thailand for the past three years', she said that she plans to work on her purpose project as well as other contestants' purpose projects under the Miss World organization, focusing on women's empowerment and related issues. She mentioned that her service initiatives are expanding worldwide. Expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the Telangana state government, she said "Hyderabad is a very beautiful city. The people here are very friendly. Having such a wonderful experience will be an unforgettable and sweet memory in my life." She stated that this is Thailand's very first Miss World crown, and winning this crown is not only a matter of pride for her but also a great responsibility. "I am indebted to the people of my country as well as everyone who worked for us in Hyderabad," she said. She mentioned that the moment the crown was announced, she was overwhelmed with emotion. 'not only every moment that she spent in Hyderabad, but also his fellow contenders', she said that she would come back to Hyderabad again. The government's hospitality has been amazing from the moment the airport landed, she said and thanked the police and security staff for their hard work. She is fluent in Thai, English, and Chinese, and is currently studying International Relations. She hopes to become an Ambassador in the future and is also interested in Psychology and Anthropology. She has a unique talent, playing the ukulele backwards, and owns several pet cats and dogs. Suchata's profile shows her as confident, kind, and driven by purpose. At age 16, Opal launched her campaign Opal For Her to promote breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection. This mission was inspired by her own experience with a benign breast lump that required surgery. 'I believe that with the Miss World title, in the future, I could definitely make more impact and also help other projects that are in need,' she said during the pageant. This campaign served as her Beauty with a Purpose project, one of the main segments in the Miss World pageant. She shared that success, to her, means to live your life and to create a life that's better for people around you as well. Before winning Miss World 2025, Suchata was crowned Miss World Thailand on April 22, just a week before leaving for Hyderabad for the international pageant. She also represented Thailand in Miss Universe 2024, where she finished as the third runner-up. During that competition, she earned the Voice for Change - Silver award for her work in advocacy.
