Additionally, the club brought on Ahmed Abdul Latif as the new goalkeeper coach. The club also extended contracts for foreign professionals Karl Thom (Estonia) and Nouri Ben Halima (French-Algerian). However, the contract with Estonian player Denir Janima was not renewed, and the club is actively searching for a third foreign professional to complete the squad. Training will commence in early August, with two weeks of local preparation followed by an overseas training camp planned in Bosnia or Montenegro. Hussein Saywan, Director of Sulaibikhat's handball program, confirmed the renewal of contracts for Estonian player Karl Tom and French-Algerian player Nouri Ben Halima, while Estonian professional Denir Janima will not return this season. The club is currently seeking a third foreign player to complete its import quota. Saywan added that efforts are underway to renew the contracts of key local players Mishari Abbas Taha and Ahmed Al-Qattan, citing their experience as essential to the team's ambitions. Kuwait continues road development works in Sulaibikhat under new contracts
KUWAIT CITY - Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan confirmed on Thursday that field teams from the ministry are continuing infrastructure development works on Khalaf Al-Ahmar Road in Sulaibikhat, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the country's internal road network and implement scheduled maintenance programs. In a press statement, Dr. Al-Mashaan said the Ministry of Public Works remains committed to developing the country's infrastructure by upgrading internal roads in accordance with the ministry's long-term plans. She noted that the ministry's engineers are supervising the implementation on-site, ensuring compliance with approved technical specifications and safety standards while utilizing modern equipment and machinery. "The work is proceeding according to the approved timeline while upholding all necessary safety and security protocols," the minister said. Al-Mashaan emphasized that the internal road maintenance and rehabilitation initiative aims to improve living conditions in residential areas and address road-related issues in response to public feedback. The program is being executed in collaboration with relevant regulatory bodies. She reaffirmed the ministry's dedication to providing a safe and modern road network that supports efficient traffic flow and helps reduce risks and traffic accidents. The minister also called on residents in the area to cooperate and show understanding regarding temporary diversions until the completion of the works. Kuwait Handball Association Cup heats up as the preliminary round concludes
KUWAIT CITY, June 18: The preliminary round of the 57th Kuwait Handball Association Cup wraps up today with Group Two matches at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. The day's fixtures include Sulaibikhat vs. Al-Arabi at 4:30 pm, Khaitan vs. Burgan at 6:00 pm, and Al-Fahaheel vs. Al-Qadsiya at 7:30 pm. The tournament, which began yesterday, is set to conclude with the final match on June 28. The draw divided participating clubs into two groups. Group One features defending champion Kuwait Club, which was exempted from the preliminary round and will face the winner of yesterday's Al-Qurain vs. Al-Sahel match in the quarter-finals. The group also includes Yarmouk, Al-Tadamon, Al-Nasr, and Al-Salmiya. Group Two includes last season's runner-up Kazma, along with Sulaibikhat, Al-Arabi, Khaitan, Burgan, Al-Fahaheel, and Al-Qadsiya.
