Al Dhafra Youth Council organises first youth circle at Liwa Date Festival 2025
26 July 2025 16:07 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)Al Dhafra Youth Council, in collaboration with the Nafis Youth Council, the UAE Youth Council for Entrepreneurship, and the UAE Youth Council for Agriculture, organised the first youth circle as part of the Liwa Dates Festival under the theme 'Agricultural Innovation.. An Opportunity for Youth in Entrepreneurship', the circle saw the attendance of key decision-makers, government officials, and young Emirati entrepreneurs working in the agricultural circle was attended by Dr Sultan Bin Saif Al Neyadi, UAE Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority; Ghannam Al Mazrouei, Secretary General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis); and Moaza Al Nasri, Chief Executive Officer of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development. The attendees expressed their support for youth participation in further advancing the agricultural sector, and strengthening sustainability circle highlighted agriculture as a promising path for youth entrepreneurship, particularly in Al Dhafra region, and featured discussions of real-life experiences of young Emiratis who have successfully launched innovative projects after working in the private sector. Key topics included structural challenges in the agricultural market, and the need for targeted training and financial support to enable youth.A group of Emirati youth shared their inspiring entrepreneurial journeys, underscoring the importance of field experience in understanding the local market and launching projects that contribute to economic development and sustainable initiatives aimed at empowering youth and enhancing their presence in the agricultural sector were announced during the circle. These included the announcement of an agricultural guidebook by the Emirates Youth Council for Agriculture, the designation of dedicated spaces for young entrepreneurs to showcase their products at upcoming agricultural festivals, and providing job opportunities for youth in agricultural fields within the private sector. The event concluded with the Youth Councils extending their gratitude to all participating and supporting entities and reaffirming its commitment to organising future circles that foster meaningful dialogue between youth and decision-makers, paving the way for a more sustainable agricultural future in the UAE. Fair unveils youth career opportunities
The second day of the 8th National and Reserve Service Career Fair at Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai saw a strong turnout from national service recruits and graduates exploring job opportunities with leading public and private sector entities across the UAE. Dr. Sultan Bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, visited the fair and was briefed on initiatives designed to attract national service graduates into the labour market. He also took part in a workshop delivered by the Youth Councils under the Federal Youth Authority. Interactive workshops and awareness sessions focused on professional development, guiding participants towards career paths that align with their qualifications. Sessions covered entrepreneurship, strategies for turning ideas into projects, and success stories from young Emiratis, as well as practical advice on CV writing, interview skills and career advancement. The discussions also emphasised the importance of lifelong learning, upskilling, and using digital platforms for professional growth—highlighting tools such as AI-driven content and networking platforms. Participants were encouraged to adopt a global outlook, gain international experience, and contribute to boosting the UAE's talent presence in global sectors. Yousif Bin Lahej, Vice-President of Emiratisation and Government Partnerships at Emirates Group, said the group's presence at the fair supports its vision of empowering youth and preparing them for leadership roles, 'Our participation reflects Emirates Group's commitment to empowering Emirati youth and attracting national talent. We offer diverse opportunities, from the National Cadet Pilot Programme to advanced engineering roles, aligning with the UAE's Emiratisation goals.' He added, 'Last year, we received around 1,500 applications across our programmes and aim for even stronger results this year. We invite graduates to explore opportunities at our interactive stand and speak with our Emirati team members.' Dubai Airports also highlighted its participation, aiming to attract national talent to its firefighting team. Selected candidates will receive specialised training to support operations at one of the world's busiest airports. The Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority marked its first participation in the fair, underscoring its support for recruits and graduates through specialised employment and training in auditing and administrative fields. Mahmoud Salem Alalawi, Director-General of Corporate Efficiency Sector, said, 'We are committed to qualifying national service graduates and supporting their integration into roles that protect Abu Dhabi's resources while fostering sustainable professional growth.' The fair reinforces its pivotal role in advancing Emiratisation and connecting recruits with institutions across the UAE.
