Caitlin Clark injury update: Fever superstar exits Sun game late
The Indiana Fever got the 85-77 victory over the Connecticut Sun at TD Garden on Tuesday night, but the win could prove to be incredibly costly. Superstar guard Caitlin Clark left the game with less than a minute left in regulation and looked to be in noticeable pain. After she's missed 10 games this season with both a quad strain (5 games) and a groin injury (5 games), the troubling sequence of events that closed Tuesday night's contest could hint to yet another injury. The Sun game was the fourth contest she's played in since her second return from injury last week. While there is no official word on Clark's condition as of now, her status for Indiana's Wednesday road game against the New York Liberty and the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game festivities are officially in question. After the game, Fever coach Stephanie White indicated that Clark "felt a little something in her groin," per IndyStar's Chloe Peterson. An evaluation will follow, per White. It's possible that this could be a new groin injury on the right side of her body, per a reporter's observation from the post-game press conference. We'll keep you updated once we know more on Clark's condition.

Sun handle Caitlin Clark, but can't break Fever in front of sold-out Garden crowd
Clark went 4 for 14 from the floor and 1 for 7 from 3-point range, finishing with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. She didn't make a shot from long distance until the 3:02 mark of the fourth quarter, but the catch-and-shoot 29-footer was ostensibly the dagger. Guard Kelsey Mitchell had 20 points to lead the Fever (12-10), while forward Natasha Howard added 18 points and 13 rebounds. Worcester native Aliyah Boston finished with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Advertisement Connecticut (3-19) was led by Tina Charles's 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Leïla Lacan added 19 points and Aneesha Morrow had 7 points and 12 rebounds. A 5-for-25 shooting night from 3 undermined the Sun's big night on the boards (40 rebounds) and a stout defensive effort against a Fever team that hung 102 points on Dallas and 99 points on Atlanta in their two previous games. Clark came into the game second in the league in assists, and the Sun made her double-down on being a playmaker. Advertisement They showed her full-court pressure from start to finish. If it wasn't Saniya Rivers hounding her, it was Jacy Sheldon or Lacan. When Clark came off screens, she had to deal with two defenders, arms up, trapping when she turned the corner. Clark's second season in the league has been much tougher than her first. A left quad injury in May forced her to miss four games, then a groin injury in June cost her five more. And in the final minutes Tuesday, she appeared to reaggravate the groin problem, as she came off the floor showing clear discomfort. Fever coaches and trainers surround guard Caitlin Clark as she reacts to a possible injury during the fourth quarter. Danielle Parhizkaran/Globe Staff At the same time, even though she's averaging 16.5 points, 9 assists, and 4.8 rebounds a game, her shooting percentages have dived from 41.7 from the floor and 34.4 from 3-point range to 37.4 and 28.9. The Fever head to New York for their final game before the All-Star break, while the Sun wrapped up the first half of their season with the loss. Julian Benbow can be reached at

Caitlin Clark leaves Fever win over Sun with new injury concern
BOSTON -- Caitlin Clark left Tuesday's Fever vs. Sun game late in the fourth quarter after wincing and grabbing the top of her right leg. With about 39 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Clark checked out of the game after an assist to Kelsey Mitchell. She went to turn around on defense and grabbed near her groin on her right leg. Clark has already had a groin injury this season, but that was on her left leg. She also had a left quad injury, and those two injuries kept her out for 10 total games so far this season. Clark seemed to be tearing up on the sideline in the final seconds of the game, and she sat on the bench with a towel over her head as the Fever closed out the 85-77 win. Earlier in the day, the WNBA confirmed Clark's participation in Friday's 3-point shooting contest ahead of the All-Star Game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Participation in both may now be in jeopardy. The Fever play Wednesday night in Brooklyn vs. the New York Liberty. This story will be updated.
