‘Insanity': Sunny Hostin claims Musk has killed 300,000 people due to aid cuts

'The View' co-host Sunny Hostin has been criticised for boldly claiming Elon Musk's cuts to foreign aid have killed 300,000 people. On Wednesday, the far-left leaning panel covered Musk's reactions to US President Donald Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill'. During the discussion, Hostin claimed that of 300,000 people who died through cuts made by DOGE, they were 'mostly children'. The co-host claimed that despite Musk's departure as a special government employee for Trump's administration, he caused immeasurable damage. 'He slashed 250,000 federal employees, more than 8500 contracts, more than 10,000 grants, and his cutbacks on medical research cost the lives of the foreign aid, cost 300,000 lives, mostly children,' she said.

Jessica Biel worries 'The View''s Whoopi Goldberg doesn't 'wanna be friends' anymore after learning she eats in the shower: 'I'm sorry!'

Jessica Biel was briefly concerned that a revelation about her unique eating habits may have led Whoopi Goldberg to have second thoughts about their friendship. During Wednesday's episode of The View, the Better Sister star was asked all about her penchant for enjoying a nice little snack break while in the middle of taking a shower. 'I don't do sandwiches. I don't do like, pastries,' Biel explained. 'I have some boundaries! I'm not gonna eat a steak in there. But, you know what, I really like to drink my coffee in there. And then sometimes other things come in like, protein bars and stuff. It's so gross and weird! I'm sorry!' While Sunny Hostin appeared to be on board with the idea, it was Goldberg's concerned glance toward the audience afterward that caught Biel's attention. 'I know, Whoopi, I'm sorry!' Biel exclaimed, before jokingly adding, 'Now you don't want to be friends with me anymore.' Goldberg quickly shot down the suggestion that their friendship was at all in jeopardy over a little shower snack. 'No, no, I'm trying to think,' the View moderator replied. 'That's a lot of multitasking, 'cause not only do you have to get away from the water, you have to get the food in your mouth, and then you've gotta get a towel, because some little kid's about to get in.' 'I'm just doing what I have to do to get out on time,' Biel agreed. 'I got drop off at 8:30. I gotta get there!' This isn't the first time Biel has spoken out about her love of a little shower snack. The 7th Heaven alum went viral in December 2023 when she posted a TikTok that featured her peeling and eating a blood orange during her quick rinse. She also dished a few quick tips for any future shower eaters in a follow-up TikTok that January. 'Here's my rules with shower eating: a ledge is really helpful, [somewhere] you can stick your cup, your yogurt container, your coffee, your espresso, whatever it is you're enjoying,' Biel said at the time. 'But I like to take a bite or a sip and put it on the ledge, and then you do your thing. You wash your hair — keep the soap out — that's a big deal. It's pretty simple, guys. You can do this.' The only 'tricky thing,' Biel confessed, is making sure that you keep your mouth closed while chewing. "Chew, do not open the mouth [and] do not let the shower water in,' she concluded. 'There you go, enjoy your shower-consuming.' The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on ABC. 0 of 30 secondsVolume 0% Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly

Sunny Hostin claims US is a 'misogynistic country' because female presidential candidates keep losing

"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin on Thursday argued that the U.S. is a "misogynistic country" because the nation has twice failed to elect a female president, while co-hosts Sara Haines and Alyssa Farah Griffin denied sexism was to blame for the losses. Reacting to Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, voicing concerns during a recent podcast appearance that Democrats may steer clear of nominating another female candidate for president in 2028 following the defeats of Hillary Clinton in 2016 and former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024, Haines warned, "We've got to stop telling the American public what they're ready for." However, fellow co-host Joy Behar interjected, "We lost twice when women ran." Haines pushed back, asking, "Is there no distinguishing factors to each woman and why they might have lost? Is there no nuance?" After further back and forth, Hostin jumped in, saying, "This country is a misogynistic country, and this country is a country that, out of all the first world countries, hasn't been able to elect a female president. That's just factual." Hostin declared that former President Bill Clinton's past was weaponized against Hillary Clinton during her campaign, and insisted she was one of the "most qualified" candidates for president. Haines suggested there were other reasons why Clinton did not win. Griffin also rejected the notion that sexism was the primary reason for Harris' defeat, saying, "Sexism, racism, absolutely exist. It absolutely is a factor in elections. It is not the determinative factor in the 2024 election and I disagreed strongly with President Biden when he basically blamed that on why Kamala Harris lost." "She outperformed Joe Biden when he was in the race. The numbers went up. The fundraising went up. She had a short window to run, and I think all the data that we have when you see why she lost the battleground states, it's not because a bunch of racist Democrats didn't turn out for her," Griffin continued, "That's not why." Former President Joe Biden sat down with the co-hosts of "The View" last week and blamed sexism for Harris' loss. "I wasn't surprised, not because I didn't think the vice president was the most qualified person to be president. She is. She's qualified to be President of the United States of America. I was surprised, I was surprised because they went the route of, the sexist route, the whole route. I mean, this is a woman, she's this, she's that. I mean, it really, I've never seen quite as successful and a consistent campaign undercutting the notion that a woman couldn't lead the country, and a woman of mixed race," Biden told the hosts. On Thursday, co-host Whoopi Goldberg said, "It's very important that when we're talking that you all understand why we talk from a color place, because that's how we're judged. That's how we're seen." "You're all smart people. You know, you can't, you cannot ask people to run and, if they're running because they want to make sure gay and straight people have the same rights, that women have the same rights as a man in this country. These can't be weaponized as wokism," she added. "We lost, we know it. I don't know why she lost, because she was qualified. It doesn't matter, because all that really matters now is what we're dealing with right now," Goldberg said. Behar went on to argue that female candidates "can't get elected" in the U.S. "We have experienced the reality that these women can't get elected. You have to acknowledge that it's certainly there," Behar added.

Sunny Hostin changes tune on Pope Leo XIV after learning of Haitian roots, declares 'we have a Black pope'

"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin revealed Monday she now "loves" Pope Leo XIV after discovering his "Black" background. Hostin had previously expressed concerns about the new pontiff on Friday after his comments referencing the "homosexual lifestyle" resurfaced. On Monday, she spoke more optimistically about Pope Leo after learning his maternal grandparents were described as "people of color" on documents, with his grandfather's original birthplace listed as Haiti. "There's one other thing that's very interesting to me because President Trump, as you remember, called Haiti a certain type of country," Hostin said. "As it turns out, our new American pope has Haitian and Black roots! So, we actually have a Black pope, apparently. It's a chef's kiss for me." After Pope Leo was announced on Thursday, Hostin said she was "concerned" about the LGBTQ community based on a statement he made in 2012 as a bishop where he described how pop culture had fostered "sympathy for beliefs and practices that are at odds with the gospel," including the "homosexual lifestyle" and "alternative families comprised of same-sex partners and their adopted children." Hostin on Monday said she was more encouraged by Pope Leo based on comments from 2023 which she thought showed he had completely changed his position. "He said, you know, he believes what Pope Francis believed is that a church is a church for everyone. The church is very inclusive. So, I'm liking this guy a lot! I'm loving the pope," Hostin said. Her co-hosts Ana Navarro and Whoopi Goldberg also praised Pope Leo after he gave a speech earlier that morning voicing support for imprisoned journalists. "He said he stands in solidarity with journalists who are imprisoned for reporting the truth and urged them to avoid ideological or partisan language. I like that. I'm digging him," Goldberg said. "I love that one of his first acts was to meet with journalists and defend the right of journalists to be journalists and uncover the truth," Navarro added. "And I think it's so timely that we have an American pope because we are going through things in this country, and it is good to show the world that not all American leaders are the same. It's good to have an American that can denounce the things happening against immigrants here." "And it's good to have a Black pope," Hostin chimed in. She again touted that he is a "Black pope" when other co-hosts shared their excitement about Pope Leo.

'The View' co-host Sunny Hostin 'concerned' for LGBTQ community with new pope

"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin said she is "concerned" for the LGBTQ+ community after seeing a resurfaced statement from the new pope. Cardinal Robert Prevost was elected as the first American pope on Thursday, taking the name of Pope Leo XIV. He has been described as a compromise candidate between the more traditional and progressive factions of the Roman Catholic Church, as he has spoken in favor of both doctrinal tradition and support for workers and the poor. While some liberal commentators have praised him, others have voiced skepticism about how much their beliefs may actually align. "I'm a devout Catholic," Hostin claimed. "Look, I always think it's exciting, to watch the conclave and look for the white smoke and the black smoke and just the ceremony of it and, you know, during these very trying times in our country, we certainly need spiritual leadership, because of some of the things that we're experiencing. I'm a little concerned about this choice for the LGBTQ+ community." President Trump Calls First American Pope Leo Xiv An 'Honor' For Us, 'Very Happy' She went on to quote a statement the pope made in 2012. "In 2012 he gave an address to bishops, and he lamented the popular culture fostered and 'sympathy for beliefs and practices that are at odds with the gospel,' and that's a quote, and then he cited the 'homosexual lifestyle' and 'alternative families comprised of same-sex partners and their adopted children,'" Hostin said. Read On The Fox News App The co-host then recalled the late Pope Francis and said, "I think that Pope Francis certainly made great changes in terms of embracing the LGBTQ+ community and extending blessings to the community, and I hope that this pope doesn't roll back the-" Multiple co-hosts interjected, including Ana Navarro, who identified as Catholic and emphasized the date that he made the statement. "In 2012 there were even a lot of American politicians who today are pro-gay marriage and pro-equal rights who were not, so maybe, you know, with the weight of the papacy and the idea that-he just said when he went out on the balcony that the church loves everyone and was inclusive in his first message so until we see otherwise, I think we need to pray and hope that he follows in Francis' footsteps in being inclusive, forgiving, compassionate, welcoming, and speaking up for the marginalized," Navarro said.
