John Elway was driving golf cart during tragic accident that left longtime agent on life support
Hall of Fame Broncos quarterback John Elway was behind the wheel when his longtime agent, Jeff Sperbeck, fell off a golf cart Saturday night and suffered injuries that have left him on life support, according to TMZ. The 61-year-old Sperbeck's prognosis is 'not good' and doctors told his family 'there's no hope he will recover,' TMZ previously reported. He was on the back of the cart as Elway was driving, and the two-time Super Bowl winner's business partner reportedly hit his head on asphalt at the private Madison Club community in La Quinta, Calif. 12 NFL teams still haven't won a Super Bowl
Twenty-eight NFL teams have reached the Super Bowl, but only 20 have won the Big Game. That leaves 12 clubs that have never won a Super Bowl. Here's a quick recap of the full list. 1. Atlanta Falcons Atlanta lost to the Broncos 34-19 in Super Bowl XXXIII and they fell to the Patriots 34-28 in Super Bowl LI (and that one was quite a heartbreaker). 2. Arizona Cardinals The Cardinals won two NFL championships (1925 and 1947) when they were based in Chicago, but they've never won a Super Bowl. They came close in 2008, but they fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-23 in Super Bowl XLIII. 3. Buffalo Bills The Bills nearly had a dynasty in the 1990s, but they found a way to lose in four consecutive Super Bowl appearances. They won AFL championships in 1964 and 1965, but they're still seeking a post-merger title. 4. Carolina Panthers The Panthers lost to the Patriots 32-29 in Super Bowl XXXVIII, then lost to the Broncos 14 years later, 24-10, in Super Bowl 50. 5. Cincinnati Bengals The Bengals reached the Super Bowl in 1981, 1988 and 2021, losing to the San Francisco 49ers (twice) and Los Angeles Rams. 6. Cleveland Browns The Browns have won eight league championships (1946, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1954, 1955 and 1964), but John Elway prevented them from ever winning a Super Bowl. Cleveland lost to the Broncos three times in AFC Championship games in the 1980s. 7. Detroit Lions The Lions own four league championships (1935, 1952, 1953 and 1957), but they're still hunting for their first Super Bowl appearance. They've had great regular seasons in each of the last two years but came up short in the playoffs. 8. Houston Texans The Texans have never reached the Super Bowl, but they have made the playoffs eight times since 2011. If it's any consolation to Houston fans, they're the youngest team on this list (2002). 9. Jacksonville Jaguars 10. Minnesota Vikings The Jags have made the playoffs eight times since entering the NFL in 1995, but they've never reached the Super Bowl. They most recently made the postseason in 2022. The Vikings won a league championship in 1969 but have lost all four of their Super Bowl appearances since the AFL-NFL merger. Since 1977, they've lost in six NFC title games, including two times with Randall Cunningham and once with Brett Favre. 11. Los Angeles Chargers The Chargers won an AFL championship in 1963 but lost their lone Super Bowl appearance in 1994 when they were defeated by the 49ers by a score of 49-26 in Super Bowl XXIX. Amazingly, they never made it far in the postseason when Drew Brees, Antonio Gates and LaDanian Tomlinson were all together in San Diego. 12. Tennessee Titans Dating back to their Houston Oilers days, the Titans have won two league championships (1960 and 1961), but they lost their lone Super Bowl appearance in 1999, a 23-16 defeat to the St. Louis (now L.A.) Rams. What NFL teams have never won a Super Bowl? Arizona Cardinals Atlanta Falcons Buffalo Bills Carolina Panthers Cincinnati Bengals Cleveland Browns Detroit Lions Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars Los Angeles Chargers Minnesota Vikings Tennessee Titans Will one of these teams win it all next season?

Super Bowl: Saquon Barkley breaks NFL single-season rushing record, wins title on his birthday
No NFL player has rushed for more yards than Saquon Barkley did in his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles. On the final play of the first half in Super Bowl LIX, Barkley amassed the most rushing yards in NFL history between the regular season and playoffs, breaking a record held by Terrell Davis. The Denver Broncos great rushed for 2,008 yards in the 1998 regular season, then 468 yards on his way to a championship in Super Bowl XXXIII. Barkley did it on a 2-yard gain in what was a fairly quiet game for him. He posted 57 yards on 25 rushes. That didn't hurt Philadelphia too much, as the team dominated the Kansas City Chiefs in a 40-22 win to claim the Eagles' second Super Bowl title in franchise history. BREAKING: Saquon Barkley has set the NFL single-season rushing record (regular and postseason) with 2,478 yards — Joel Haas (@Joel_Haas1) February 10, 2025 That's quite a way to celebrate a birthday, as Barkley turned 28 years old on Sunday. He wasn't the only Eagle to do something special on his birthday, either. Barkley, named the NFL Offensive Player of the Year on Thursday, came just short of the regular season-only record at 2,005, finishing 100 yards behind Eric Dickerson's longstanding mark of 2,105. The Eagles sat Barkley in Week 18 rather than risk him as he went for history. It is beyond understatement to say Barkley's first year in Philadelphia was a success. After six seasons with the New York Giants in which both his health and effectiveness would vary, the former No. 2 overall pick moved from one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL to one of the best last offseason on a three-year, $37.75 million deal. The resulting combination established Barkley as the top runner in the NFL. Success was almost immediate, but the first-team All-Pro picked up momentum as the season went on and kept going in the playoffs. His signature play: leaping over a defender backward. SAQUON BARKLEY IS NOT OF THIS WORLD.📺: #JAXvsPHI on CBS/Paramount+📱: — NFL (@NFL) November 3, 2024 It's not hyperbole to say Barkley finished up the greatest running back season in NFL history on Sunday. One of the most physically and mentally gifted runners the league has ever seen was finally given a team that could properly use him, and the results more than speak for themselves. At the very least, he gave the Giants something to think about.
