BTS' Jin tries lie detector test, what untruths did the machine pick out? , Entertainment News

Being put on the spot can make you sweat and fumble over your words — how did BTS' Jin fare when he was hooked up to a lie detector machine? In a YouTube video uploaded by Vanity Fair on Wednesday (June 11), the 32-year-old answered questions about his life and career under the watchful gaze of a lie detector. With wires and straps attached to him, the nervous K-pop boy band member revealed: "It's my first time shooting in such a heavy and intense atmosphere." The first question: Is Jin a distrustful person? He appeared to tell the truth, admitting that he's not one to trust people easily and thus, it's not easy to fool him. However, the Super Mario-MapleStory fan shared that when it comes to video games, it's a different story. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jin of BTS (@jin) "I've been scammed buying items in games. I've played many games, so there are multiple games where I've been scammed. I paid for items and the seller would just take my money and run." However, he was soon caught by the machine for telling a lie. Many fans affectionately liken Jin's appearance to a hamster. When asked if he wished fans would stop, Jin replied: "I don't wish that. I'm happy with however the fans see me" — which the lie detector called out as untruthful. As he smiled sheepishly, he added: "No, I don't think they have to stop." In his own eyes however, he resembles a rodent, puppy or wolf. Blessed not only with musical talent, Jin was also asked about his gift for using his feet in various situations. "Ever since I was a kid, I've been able to pick things up with my toes. I just had a feeling that I could open a bag of chips too." Jin added: "I could pick up clothes. I could grab and move blankets. Anything I could grab, I did." Spilling the career tea In December 2021, Jin released his single Super Tuna via SoundCloud as a gift to his fans in celebration of his 29th birthday. Out of embarrassment, Jin had initially asked fans not to pursue the dance challenge, and it was revealed he really meant it. "As someone who makes good music, I just didn't want people finding out about a silly song I made," he explained. He also confessed that he felt Super Tuna was "cheesy". BTS has been on hiatus since 2022 to allow the septet time to complete their military service. Jin and J-Hope were discharged last year, while RM, V, Jimin and Jungkook earlier this week, and only Suga is left to return from his duties on June 21. When asked who he misses the most, Jin hesitated for a while before admitting — truthfully — it was their youngest member Jungkook. He also shared that in the band's group chat, V texts the most while RM is the worst at replying, and Jin himself gets off topic sometimes in his messages. He also pleaded guilty to having text messages from his hometown friends left unread, saying: "It's just useless to talk about games." When questioned if he thought his friends' opinions were useless, he corrected: "It's currently useless to me since it's about a game I'm not playing right now." Lastly, Jin — who graduated with a degree in film studies — was repeatedly called out by the lie detector when he denied any plans to act. However, he bounced back with conviction: "Since acting requires a lot of work and effort, it's an intimidating challenge for me to take on. I have no desire at all." Jin will be embarking on his first solo concert RunSeokjin EP Tour, which starts June 28 in South Korea. [[nid:719061]]

(Video) From Video Game Scams To Acting Career: 5 Things We Learned From BTS Jin's Lie Detector Test

BTS member Jin (진) is known for his joyful personality, so it's rare to see him nervous, but that's exactly how he felt during his appearance on Vanity Fair's Lie Detector Test on YouTube. Like many stars before him, he was asked a series of questions to answer truthfully. If any physiological changes were detected, the polygraph would indicate that he might not be telling the truth. Fans said they felt nervous for him, too, but were equally entertained by the content. That said, we also learned quite a few things about the idol. Here are some of our favourite moments from the episode: 1. He was scammed by video game sellers Jin considers himself someone who isn't easily fooled. However, when it comes to video games, he admits he can be swayed by an enticing offer. The singer revealed that he had been scammed by sellers who promised valuable in-game items, but sadly took his money and left him empty-handed. 2. He misses Jungkook the most out of all his members As the segment was filmed some time ago, the interviewer asked Jin which of his BTS bandmates, who were still completing their military service at the time, he missed the most. Initially, he replied that he missed all of them, but when the machine detected deception, he admitted he missed the maknae, Jungkook, the most. 3. He thinks his single 'Super Tuna' is cheesy Making music is all about having fun, so there's absolutely nothing wrong with an artist releasing a silly song every now and then. Jin released 'Super Tuna' back in 2024 and admitted he finds the song cheesy, so much so that he hoped people wouldn't take it too seriously. In fact, he even asked fans not to start a dance challenge to the single. 4. He has no desire to become an actor Despite holding a degree in acting, Jin has no desire to pursue a career in it. However, the polygraph detected deception, though the idol insisted he was telling the truth, even if offered a role in a Bong Joon Ho (봉준호) film. He went on to explain that the reason he doesn't want to become an actor is that it requires a great deal of effort and feels like an intimidating challenge to take on. Still, fans remain hopeful that they'd get to see Jin show off his acting chops one day. 5. He hasn't replied to his friends' messages It's not particularly surprising when an idol hasn't had much time to reply to messages from friends and family. However, Jin admitted he still hasn't responded to his friends back home, as he feels the conversations don't offer him anything meaningful. When asked to elaborate, he explained that they mainly talk about video games he doesn't play, so he has nothing to contribute to the discussion. It's important to note that this particular lie detector test isn't entirely reliable, as the examinee can influence the results by controlling their physiological responses. That said, when the examinee is under significant stress, the results may also be inaccurate, so it's best not to take Jin's answers too seriously. Japanese woman booked over kissing BTS member Jin without consent at fan event

A Japanese woman accused of kissing a member of the K-pop boy band BTS without consent has been booked and summoned for questioning by the South Korean police. The incident took place in Seoul on 13 June last year when Jin held a free meet and greet event, where he hugged 1,000 fans who had won a raffle, after completing his mandatory 18-month military service. The woman reportedly kissed Jin on the cheek when he leaned in to hug her. The musician looked visibly startled and turned his face away. 'My lips touched his neck. His skin was so soft,' the woman later wrote in a blog post according to the South Korean state news agency Yonhap. The Songpa police station in Seoul said the Japanese woman, who is in her 50s, has been booked and summoned on charges of sexual harassment in a public space. A BTS fan had filed a criminal complaint against her which led to an investigation. Police have refused to disclose the woman's identity, citing privacy, and have not provided many details about the matter since the investigation is underway. Media reports said that South Korean police were able to confirm the identity of the woman with the help of Japanese police, adding that she was refusing to appear for questioning. Police are also reportedly considering calling in Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok Jin, to provide a statement. BTS, made up of members RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, announced in 2022 they would be taking a break from group activities to focus on solo music, while each member completed their military service. During this period, all the members released their solo albums, with Suga additionally going on tour under his alter ego Agust D. Jin had previously released a single, 'The Astronaut', co-written with Coldplay, in October 2022, and released an extended version of his 2021 single 'Super Tuna,' which he performed at the band's 11th debut anniversary in June 2024. In November the same year, he released his mini album Happy, which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200. Additionally, j-hope announced his first solo tour and teased new music set to release in March. Titled Hope on the Stage, the tour will start in February and take in major cities across North America and Asia. Jin was discharged from the military in June 2024 and j-hope in October. The remaining members are expected to complete their military service by the end of 2025, with Jung Kook and Jimin scheduled to return in June that year. They are anticipated to resume activities as a septet in 2026. With inputs from agencies.
