‘Happy and relieved': MP man who lost his brother in Pahalgam attack on killing of mastermind

On April 22, terrorists attacked Baisaran, a major tourist spot in Pahalgam town of Kashmir, known as 'Mini Switzerland', in which 26 people were killed. Most of the deceased were tourists, including Sushil Nathaniel (58), an Indore resident. Officials said Suleman alias Asif, believed to be the 'mastermind' of the Pahalgam attack, and his two companions were killed by the Army's top para commandos on Monday (July 28) in the forests on the outskirts of Jammu and Kashmir summer capital Srinagar under 'Operation Mahadev'. Indore, Jul 28 (PTI) A Madhya Pradesh man who lost his elder brother in the Pahalgam terror attack said on Monday the elimination of the alleged mastermind of the massacre in an encounter in J&K has brought happiness and relief to his family even as they try to come to terms with the grief. His younger brother Vikas Kumrawat expressed happiness over the elimination of the terror mastermind. Kumrawat told PTI, 'We were thinking for a long time why the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack have not been caught yet? We are very happy and relieved with the news of the Army killing the mastermind of this attack. This action is a special achievement of our government and the Army.' He, however, noted wounds caused by his elder brother's death in the terror attack were still fresh for his family and they are trying to overcome the grief, more than three months after the carnage. 'My brother will never be able to return to us, but the action taken by the government and the Army (after Pahalgam attack) was a matter of satisfaction for us,' Kumrawat maintained. Nathaniel was posted as a manager of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in Alirajpur, about 200km from Indore. He had gone to Kashmir with his wife Jennifer, daughter Akanksha and son Austin alias Goldie. PTI HWP MAS RSY This report is auto-generated from PTI news service. Operation Sindoor: Pahalgam terror attack victim's wife in Indore says, 'complete justice remains undone'

BHOPAL: Hours after Operation Sindoor, Jenifer Nathaniel, wife of Pahalgam terror attack victim Sushil Nathaniel, said, "complete justice remains undone until the four terrorists who shot dead my husband and other tourists are gunned down publicly". Jenifer Nathaniel is an Indore-based school teacher, and her slain husband was a LIC branch manager. 'I came to know about the aerial strikes on the terror launchpads in Pakistan and PoK at 6 am. We knew our government would avenge the attack, but justice for us remains incomplete. Those four terrorists need to be gunned down publicly by our security forces. We need to see the terror of dying on their faces just like us,' she said. 'Those who indoctrinate, brainwash and guide men to become terrorists need to be eliminated. It seems to have been done by our forces a few hours back,' she said. 'I still remember the anger in the eyes of the army jawans who safely shifted the families (of those who lost their loved ones) on April 22 from Pahalgam. The anger spoke volumes that our jawans were focused on avenging the Pahalgam killings. It has partially been completed.' Jenifer had visited Kashmir along with her husband Sushil Nathaniel, daughter Akanksha and son Austin on a vacation trip. Sushil Nathaniel was the lone Christian to have been gunned down by the four terrorists on April 22.

Pahalgam Victim's Wife Demands Tracking, Killing Terrorists Who Opened Fire

New Delhi: Pahalgam attack victim Sushil Nathaniel's wife Jennifer praised the government and security forces but sought that the four men that carried out the April 22 terror attack be found and brought to justice. Speaking in Madhya Pradesh's Indore after India launched Operation Sindoor, which struck at nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Jennifer sought justice for her husband. "These four people did what even an animal would not do. I just want an account of this and these people should also get the same punishment. These four people should also die," the 54-year-old said. She said the attackers committed the crime without any fear and they should also be punished in the same way. Sushil Nathaniel worked as a manager with Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in Alirajpur, about 200 km from Indore. While on a holiday with his wife, daughter and son, he was killed in the Pahalgam attack, in which 26 civilians died. Speaking of the attack, she had told ANI, "We were about to return from there when my husband told me he needed to use the washroom. When he came out of the washroom, a loud sound came and we thought it was of ropeway breakage but when we turned around, we saw the first man who was shot. Everyone started running and hiding. We hid behind the washroom but the terrorists found us. The terrorists asked my husband to recite the Kalma and then shot him." Retaliating against the Pahalgam terror attack, Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, including the Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold of Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's base in Muridke.
