'Every man used to touch me...'; This actress, a star, was allegedly molested, ran away crying from set, her name is…
Sushmita Sen is a well-known Bollywood actress who may not be active on screen anymore, but she is still making a splash in web series. Before coming into acting, she made history by becoming the first Indian to win Miss Universe in 1994. Later, she was also successful in films. Recently, her OTT series like 'Arya' and 'Thali' have become quite a hit. However, during the shooting of the film 'Chingari' released in 2006, some controversial incidents happened with her that she would not have even imagined. An incident with Mithun Chakraborty on the set of this film and differences with another actor, Anuj Sahni, during the promotion became a topic of discussion. Let us tell you that Sushmita Sen played the role of a prostitute named Basanti in the film 'Chingari'. This role caused mental stress for her. She once said that the emotions in this role had a deep impact on her personal life as well. She said, 'I used to feel very uncomfortable when a man touched me in every scene. Although I knew that it was acting, the character of Basanti had made a deep impact on me.' This film is based on Bhupen Hazarika's novel 'The Prostitute and the Postman'. The purpose of the film is to show the difficulties of oppressed women in society. However, these scenes had disturbed her a lot. Sushmita Sen worked in an intimate scene with Mithun Chakraborty. It was reported at that time that after shooting this scene, she felt uncomfortable and left the set crying. She complained to director Kalpana Lajmi that Mithun had touched her inappropriately. Kalpana explained to Sushmita that this incident was a mistake. Later Sushmita reconsidered the matter and felt that she had overreacted. The issue was resolved personally with Mithun Chakraborty. Neither of them ever spoke about this incident publicly. The film was based on oppression and abuse of power in rural India. During the promotion of the film 'Chingari', Sushmita also had a fight with another co-star Anuj Sahni. Anuj, who plays the role of a postman and falls in love with Basanti's character, praised her kissing scene with him in an interview. Sushmita was upset when he said that 36 retakes were taken for this scene. Along with this, she completely withdrew from the promotion of the film. The director regretted that the controversy had damaged the two-month promotion of the film. Although Anuj later apologized, Sushmita did not believe it. The film 'Chhingar' highlighted issues such as oppression and abuse of power in rural India. Mithun Chakraborty played the role of a priest who abuses power in society. Sushmita Sen's character, Basanti, as a prostitute, faces inequalities in society. Although the film was not a box office success, critics praised Sushmita's acting. The film depicts social issues well. However, some people criticised the film, calling its story a bit slow.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sushmita Sen (@sushmitasen47) Even in a high-fashion moment, the former Miss Universe manages to connect with her followers in an intimate, uplifting way. Sen donned a soft, pastel blue pantsuit by Sav Lamba. It featured a coordinated three-piece ensemble featuring a structured blazer, matching waistcoat, and tailored trousers. The hue, which is a reminder of clear skies and serene glaciers, looks flattering on her. The 49-year-old knows how to strike a balance between minimal and power styling. For accessories, Sen kept it minimal with rings, a brooch on the blazer, and an aesthetic that allows the outfit to highlight Sen's innate charm. The only thing we wish was different was the choice of heels for this one - but hey, she manages to slay it anyway! Her hair and makeup game was on point! She wore her hair in voluminous waves, which complemented her look beautifully. Her softly contoured features with a hint of shimmer on the eyes and a brown nude lip tied the look and went well with the boss-lady vibe of the fit. This outfit is a masterclass in minimalism, and Sushmita Sen knows how to make a powerful impact with it.
