Officials told to draw action plan for ‘Swarnandhra Swachhandhra' event
District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad has asked the officials to prepare an action plan to organise the 'Swarnandhra - Swachhandhra' programme on May 18.
He conducted a video conference with the officials on the 'Swachhta Hi Seva' programme, which is organised on the third Saturday of every month.
He instructed the officials of all government and private offices, educational institutions, temples, churches, mosques, parks, bus and railway stations, hostels, and hospitals across the district to voluntarily carry out cleanliness drives on the third Saturday of this month. He noted the importance of maintaining cleanliness at tourists spots.
Attention must be given to programmes conducted in hospitals, educational institutions, Anganwadi centres, and industrial areas, he said.
'Beat the Heat' initiative
Referring to summer, he suggested measures to protect people from heatwaves under the 'Beat the Heat' initiative and to promote greenery. He stressed the importance of safeguarding the health of labourers, street vendors, and children during the heat and called for appropriate relief measures.
Mr. Harendhira Prasad suggested that awareness programmes should be conducted by the staff of village and ward secretariats on terrace gardening, wet and dry waste management, use of public toilets, and overall cleanliness.
