One Offensive Tackle Projected to Go Higher Than Expected in NFL Draft

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Texas Longhorns stud offensive tackle Kelvin Banks entered the 2024 seasons are a contender for the top offensive line prospect in the entire 2025 NFL Draft class. However, for some reason, Banks' stock began to fall, with some mock drafts having him fall all the way into the bottom third of Round 1. However, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, there seems to be a rising consensus that the knocks against Banks were all noise, and the has a very good chance to go in the top 10. Photo by"I had an interesting exchange with a GM on Monday night where I said that I thought the Texas big man would go higher than people thought," Breer wrote. '"You mean non-NFL people?"' the GM joked. The implication, of course, was that coaches and scouts have been high on Banks all along." Of course, this leads one to wonder what the issue was with Banks in the first place, and why he was supposedly falling down draft boards. And while Breer gives and explanation, his reasoning is a bit odd. "The whooping Banks took at the hands of Walker and the Bulldogs in the fall, in the regular season and SEC title game, did give teams some pause," Breer wrote. "But with a chance to pull back and look at the bigger picture again, it feels to me like most saw the player they thought coming into the season would be a top-10 prospect." First things first, Banks the idea that Banks got embarrassed by Jalon Walker against Georgia is not entirely accurate. Yes, Banks gave up two sacks to Walker - the only sacks he gave up all season - but based on the film, it is quite obvious neither one was on Banks' shoulders. On top of that, Banks did not even play in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia in December, meaning he only faced Walker once. But despite those issues pointed out by Breer, it appears Banks is now more likely to go in the Top 10 and fall below it. "Banks is more of a prototype left tackle than Campbell, and is more polished and pro-ready than Membou—even if his tape's not as good as Campbell's and his athletic ceiling isn't as high as Membou's," Breer said. "I think he could go as high as No. 6 to the Raiders, and I wouldn't be stunned to see him land at No. 9 (Saints), No. 10 (Bears) or No. 11 (49ers), either. Chicago, for what it's worth, sent a big crew to his pro day in Austin."

WNBA prospect Sedona Prince goes undrafted as abuse allegations surfaced in final college season

Sedona Prince fell completely out of the WNBA Draft on Monday night as the former TCU Horned Frogs and Oregon Ducks center faced multiple abuse allegations. The alleged incidents came to light in reports from The Washington Post and The Associated Press in February as the Horned Frogs readied themselves for the Big 12 Tournament and the NCAA Tournament. The 6-foot-7 center was involved in a physical altercation with a woman she previously dated and both women filed police reports claiming they were assaulted. Prince's lawyer, A. Boone Almanza, acknowledged the Jan. 18 incident but said no charges were filed. Prince was also accused of sexual assault and domestic violence by another former girlfriend, which led to a petition to have her removed from the team. The player denied all the allegations against her and said she never "abused anyone in her life, whether mentally, emotionally or physically." "Unfortunately, others have decided to use Sedona as a launch point for their careers," Almanza said at the time. Prince played through the NCAA Tournament as the Horned Frogs made it to the Elite Eight. She averaged 17.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3 blocks per game. Still, no team in the draft took a chance on her. Prince rose to prominence in 2021 when her TikTok videos showcased the disparity between the men's and women's March Madness tournaments. It helped lead the NCAA to revamping the women's tournament. She was then the lead plaintiff in the so-called multibillion-dollar House settlement. It's unclear if any WNBA team will sign her as a free agent. She may opt to play overseas. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Hailey Van Lith turns heads on WNBA Draft red carpet

Hailey Van Lith turned heads on the basketball court in college, and before the WNBA Draft started on Monday night, she was doing the same on the orange carpet. The former TCU Horned Frogs star was glistening in a black dress. Paige Bueckers, Kiki Iriafen, Sonia Citron, Georgia Amoore, Aneesah Morrow, Aziaha James and Saniya Rivers joined Van Lith on the carpet ahead of the draft. It was Van Lith who got social media talking. "It's a funeral, babe. It's a college funeral," she said of her outfit. Van Lith entered the draft following her final collegiate season at TCU. She helped lead the Horned Frogs to a Big 12 Championship before losing in the Elite Eight. It was the first time the program had ever made it that far in the NCAA Women's Tournament. She averaged 15.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 172 career games. She was an All-American for the first time last season. Van Lith went viral before the season was over when she spoke at length about her mental health. "The way that I got exposed to the media and social media at such a young age, I really struggled with mental health things," she said, via Sports Illustrated. "When I was younger and in college, I was suicidal, I was heavily medicated, and I felt trapped. "You would never know because I was having a ton of success on the court, but internally, and in life in general, I was ready to be done. That's what I mean when I speak on suffering and pain. It's like I didn't even want to live. "So, to come from that to this is incredible. I've been praying all year like, 'God, I know you've given me this testimony to share it with the world and shed your light,' and I think this is the year and this is the moment that he wants people to know my story and how he has taken me literally from the depths of wanting to die to this moment of loving life. Even if basketball went away today, I truly would want to be here and love these people." Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
