Wu administration steps up pressure for Revs stadium mitigation
'While these meetings have been cordial,' Shen wrote, referencing the negotiations, 'the information you have shared remains conceptual with none of the technical detail and analysis needed as a baseline to properly assess the impact of your proposal or negotiate a fair agreement for the City of Boston.' Shen emphasized to Bilello in the letter that addressing 'community mitigation is not optional, nor to be taken lightly.' Advertisement A spokesperson for the Kraft Group issued a statement saying that the company was surprised by the letter and that it is inconsistent with the positive tone and numerous productive discussions both sides have had since they started meeting in February. The Wu-Kraft discussions are happening amid a political backdrop: Wu is running for reelection this year, and her principal challenger is Josh Kraft, a former nonprofit executive whose father, Robert Kraft, is lead executive and owner of the Kraft Group and its two pro sports teams. Two of Josh Kraft's brothers are also top executives there. Josh Kraft had said he would recuse himself from any stadium discussions if elected. Advertisement The As part of The May 1 deadline came and went without an outside mediator participating. But now, judging from Shen's letter, that phase is imminent. In an attachment to the letter, the Wu administration outlines a series of concerns it would like to see addressed, or at least analyzed. They include: MBTA connections and capacity for those attending games and concerts, off-site parking options, the effects on water quality in the Mystic and Boston Harbor, flood resilience, noise impacts, and estimates of the number of construction and permanent jobs. Advertisement City officials also want a forecast of the impact that the nearly 25,000-seat stadium would have on rival concert venues in Boston — TD Garden, Fenway Park, and the Leader Bank Pavilion. (That's one of the issues that came up during the State House negotiations over the legislation.) Shen, in his letter, again draws a parallel between a mitigation agreement valued at $68 million Several of the questions that Shen raises presumably will be tackled by an outside consultant, Watertown-based VHB, that the Kraft Group has asked to address transportation and other related issues around the stadium, its construction, and future impact. 'Throughout this process the Kraft Group has operated in good faith and has supplied Boston with every piece of information the city has requested,' said Kraft Group spokesperson Anisha Chakrabarti. 'During our many meetings and conversations, representatives from Boston have not expressed these concerns with our process or with our efforts.' Chakrabarti added that Kraft Group executives are 'deeply disappointed that politics and grandstanding seem to have taken place over thoughtful analysis and collaboration. This simply impedes progress and economic development for the City of Everett, the City of Boston, and the Commonwealth.' Advertisement Jon Chesto can be reached at

Caitlin Clark Reveals Honest Opinion on Boston Celtics: 'You Could Hate Them...'
Caitlin Clark Reveals Honest Opinion on Boston Celtics: 'You Could Hate Them...' originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Caitlin Clark marked another career milestone on Tuesday in the Indiana Fever's road game against the Connecticut Sun. This comes in the form of her first-ever game in Boston after the Sun decided to move the venue of Tuesday's highly anticipated contest from their usual home stadium at Mohegan Sun Arena to the famed TD Garden. Advertisement WNBA teams have been constantly relocating venues when Clark and the Fever visit, in order to accommodate larger crowds. For Clark, however, this is her first opportunity to play in the same home court that the Boston Celtics call home. Before the game, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year shared her thoughts on Tuesday's milestone. Clark also revealed her honest opinion on the Celtics. 'Yeah, I mean, this is really, honestly, my first time to Boston. Obviously, if you're a basketball fan, you grow up a fan, you love the Celtics. Well, maybe I guess you could hate them," Clark said, which drew laughs from all around the room. 'But I think for myself, the Celtics is one of the premier organizations of the NBA. Like, you always grow up knowing what the Celtics are about, and obviously having won a championship two years ago now, it's kind of cool to just be in this building and kind of surround yourself with the greatness that is played in this arena over the course of however many years.' Advertisement As Clark said, Jayson Tatum and the Celtics are just two years removed from winning a championship, which represents an NBA record 18 titles for the franchise. The Fever star is well aware of the history of this organization and this building, which is why she's cherishing her first opportunity to play at TD Garden. Clark then went on to discuss the support from the Boston faithful, despite the fact that the city does not have a WNBA team. 'I think it's a great opportunity for people in this city or fans around the area to come and support a W team here,' she continued. 'I know their game last year had great attendance and great energy, so I'm expecting the same tonight. Advertisement 'But for myself, you don't take these opportunities for granted. It's always fun to go to a new arena in a new place and enjoy it, and I expect the same here tonight.' At the end of the day, though, it's still all about the win for Clark and the Fever. They blew out the Sun in their last meeting at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 17, 88-71, and they will be looking for a similar result on Tuesday. Bruins going ‘Back to the Future' with new jerseys for 2025-26 season
The Bruins will have a fresh look for the 2025-26 season. Boston revealed its new jerseys on Wednesday morning — two days after the Bruins released their new logo — with a 'Back to the Future' themed video that featured Michael J. Fox and Charlie McAvoy — from the future. Advertisement The sweater is similar to the one the Bruins wore in the 1980s and early 1990s with the gold piping encasing the elbow area. The jersey also features the logo that was released on Monday. The home logo, which will be worn on the black jersey, features eight black spokes that connect to an outer circle with a gold, black-outlined 'B' in the center. The away features the opposite color scheme with a gold-outlined 'B' and eight gold spokes. There is also a bear patch on the shoulder with '100″ on it. Last season, the Bruins unveiled a new statue outside of TD Garden that features a Bruin bear as part of the year-long centennial celebration held. The Bruins have never been shy about switching up their look. They donned their centennial jersey for the 2023-24 season to celebrate 100 years as a team, and have introduced several third jerseys over the years, including two in the last decade — a black jersey with a gold 'B' that paid homage to the 1940s and 1950s team in 2019, and the reverse retro 'Pooh Bear' sweaters the team wore in the late 1990s in 2022. Advertisement The logo and jersey change come during a time in which the Bruins are re-tooling their roster this offseason after they traded Charlie Coyle, Brandon Carlo and captain Brad Marchand. They also have a new coach in Marco Sturm, who was officially introduced earlier this month. They will also have the new threads for the NHL Entry Draft which begins on Friday night. The Bruins have the No. 7 pick. More Bruins content Read the original article on MassLive.
