TGSRTC withdraws order for 40 electric buses issued to Megha entity

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has withdrawn an order for 40 electric buses issued to MEIL subsidiary, EVEY Trans. The 40 electric buses were part of the order for 50 such for inter-city operations the State Transport Corporation had placed with EVEY in April 2023. The TGSRTC has reduced the order to 10 buses which have already been delivered. In respect of the balance 40, the order has been withdrawn, another MEIL entity Olectra Greentech informed stock exchanges on Saturday. As per the tender conditions, EVEY was executing the contract with TGSRTC through a special purpose vehicle company EVEY Trans in which electric bus maker Olectra had 26% stake and EVEY the remaining 74%. Under the contractual terms, the buses were required to be procured from Olectra and who additionally was responsible for their maintenance. The order for supply of 50 electric buses was to be on gross cost contract (GCC) / OPEX model basis for the contract period of 10 years. Olectra did not specify reasons for which the order for the remaining 40 buses was withdrawn by the State Transport Corporation. The TGSRTC had in April 2023 also placed order for 500 electric buses for intra-city operations, along with the 50 buses for intercity operations, it said. Except for reduction in existing order book by 40 buses, there is no material adverse impact since it is having huge order book for electric buses, Olectra said in the filing.

HYDERABAD: The staff of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) have demonstrated honesty and integrity in the course of their duties by returning bags containing valuables worth Rs 19 lakh that were left behind by passengers on different buses. On May 25, a woman passenger travelling on the Suryapet-Hyderabad route accidentally left her bag on the bus. Upon reaching the Suryapet bus station, conductor K Anjaiah and driver Yakub Pasha discovered the bag. It contained gold jewellery worth Rs 6 lakh and a mobile phone. Without delay, they handed over the bag to the Suryapet depot authorities. The belongings were later returned to the passenger in the presence of RTC officials. On the same day, a male passenger forgot his bag on an airport bus near Shilparamam. The bag contained Rs 3.5 lakh in cash, two gold bangles, a laptop and valuables estimated at Rs 5 lakh in total. Driver Ramesh identified the bag and ensured its safe return to the passenger in the presence of officials. In another incident on May 15, a woman passenger left behind a bag containing gold ornaments worth Rs 8 lakh on a Pushpak airport bus travelling from the Hyderabad airport to Lingampally. The bag was found near Allwyn Cross Road by driver Mubeen, who promptly handed it over to the Miyapur-2 depot officials. TGSRTC MD Sajjanar lauded the sincerity of the staff , K Anjaiah, drivers Yakub Pasha, Mubeen and Ramesh, who belong to the Suryapet and Miyapur-2 depots. They were felicitated by senior officials for their commendable service at Hyderabad Bus Bhavan.

Hyderabad: In an act of honesty, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) staff demonstrated their commitment to honesty while fulfilling their responsibilities. They showed remarkable compassion by returning bags filled with goods valued at Rs 19 lakh, which had been left behind on the buses, to the rightful passengers. According to TGSRTC, on May 25, a female passenger forgot her bag in a bus going on the Suryapet – Hyderabad route. As soon as the bus reached the Suryapet bus station, the bag was found by conductor K Anjaiah and driver Yakub Pasha. It contained gold ornaments worth Rs six lakh and a mobile phone. They immediately handed over the bag to the Suryapet depot. The bag was handed over to the passenger in the presence of RTC officials. In another incident, a passenger forgot a bag containing gold ornaments worth Rs eight lakh in a Hyderabad Airport Pushpak bus. On May 15, the bus was coming from the airport to Lingapally when the driver Mubeen found the bag at Alvin Cross Road. It was handed over to the Miyapur-2 depot officials. In another incident, a passenger on May 25 forgot the bag at Shilparamam in a Maroka Airport bus. It contained Rs 3.50 lakh in cash, two gold bangles, and a laptop a total of Rs five lakh. Driver Ramesh identified it and handed it over to the passenger in the presence of the authorities. TGSRTC MD Sajjanar congratulated the staff of Suryapet and Miyapur-2 depots K Anjaiah, drivers Yakub Pasha, Mubeen and Ramesh for their integrity in fulfilling the responsibilities, as they returned the bags to three passengers. He highlighted the growing appreciation for RTC staff that consistently goes above and beyond in their roles, earning them special recognition in the community. He said that the RTC staff's honesty in handing over bags worth Rs 19 lakh, which were lost by passengers in three separate incidents.

God has blessed the people's government by bringing rains to the State early, said Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The apparent early onset of monsoon is a harbinger of a bountiful harvest, he said while addressing a gathering at Edavalli village in Mudigonda mandal of Khammam district on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, Mr. Vikramarka laid the foundation stone for development works worth ₹4.75 crore at Sri Yogananda Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Edavalli in Madhira Assembly constituency. The temple development works are related to Rajagopuram, Muka Mandapam and a guest house. He was accorded a warm welcome by the villagers on his arrival in Edavalli. Mr. Vikramarka along with his wife Nandini and son Mallu Surya Vikramaditya performed a homam at the temple. Speaking on the occasion, he said the Congress government is making concerted efforts to create wealth and distribute it among people through a plethora of landmark welfare schemes. These include the Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma housing scheme, free travel for women in the TGSRTC buses, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam — a scheme for the self-employment of youth, and the Indira Solar Giri Water Development Scheme for tribal farmers, to name a few, he noted. Wyra MLA Maloth Ramdas Nayak and others were present.

TGSRTC MD affirms commitment to solve workers' problems

While the State government has approved filling up 3,036 full-time posts, this process is facing delays on account of technical issues, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation Vice Chairman and Managing Director V.C. Sajjanar said. Mr. Sajjanar was speaking at a meeting of the TGSRTC's Employee Welfare Board meeting on Tuesday where he affirmed his commitment to resolve issues of its 42,000 employees. The meeting comes amid strained relations between the TGSRTC's management and unions. Speaking to workers, he said the TGSRTC management, with State government support, would solve workers' issues in a phased manner. Touching upon recruitments, he said that the kin of as many as 2,350 workers who had passed away were given employment in the corporation. Touching upon criticism over staff being strained on account of the implementation of the Mahalakshmi Scheme, he said the management is cognisant of the workload issue for which drivers and conductors will be recruited on a temporary basis. He also accused the TGSRTC management's critics of spreading false propaganda.
