LOREN Goes Independent With AYLA Label For New Album, 'FYN' Single

LØREN Courtesy of AYLA After LØREN established his name on the pop-culture scene by releasing a string of alt-rock singles and EP with 88rising, performing at festivals like Coachella and SXSW, modeling for Yves Saint Laurent, and writing songs for the likes of G-Dragon and BLACKPINK, the mysterious multidisciplinary's next chapter sees him starting anew and, as a result, refreshed and inspired. Forbes can share exclusive details of LØREN's singing with AYLA as the Los Angeles-based independent label prepares to deliver not only LØREN's radical new rock-pop crossover single 'FYN' and upcoming album but also to make a larger impact on all aspects of culture. After almost a decade working closely with Korean company THEBLACKLABEL, the 30-year-old likens his transition to moving out of a childhood home all while needing to embrace the challenges of change. 'It definitely was not an easy decision,' LØREN shares. 'I don't think I had one specific reason; there was a lot going on at the time. It was a pretty huge change for me, and I felt like I was moving out for the first time. The bottom line, though, was the thirst for independence and, consequently, more control over my life. Though I wasn't signed anywhere in my teens, THEBLACKLABEL was a strong boundary that I could take comfort in, but I guess I realized comfort won't teach me to stand on my own two feet. With that, I thought if I was going to learn, it may as well start right now.' THEBLACKLABEL is the Korean management company and label led by Teddy (the super-producer behind K-pop classics for PSY, BIGBANG, Sunmi, BLACKPINK, and many more) where LØREN cut his teeth as a producer and his own artist releasing music in collaboration with his Fire Exit Records and different partners like AWAL and 88rising. Now, with AYLA, which positions itself as a 'platform for creative individuals,' the indie label is taking a multidimensional approach to fully bring LØREN to the mainstream. 'When introducing LØREN to the mainstream and U.S. market, we believed that understanding the culture his music stems from and is inspired by was the most crucial factor,' says Darahgianna Park, the Chief Executive Officer at AYLA. 'At AYLA, we emphasize personalized, curated roadmaps for our artists, taking a hands-on approach to their career development. Our goal is to guide talent in understanding who they are as artists and how they wish to express themselves within the ever-evolving industry while connecting with their audience on a large scale.' AYLA says utilizing LØREN's established base in rock music made it easy to connect him with top collaborators like Brian Lee (the producer whose credits span from Blink-182 and Post Malone to Lil Peep and Rosé of BLACKPINK), John Feldmann (frontman of legendary ska/punk band Goldfinger) and Noah Dillon (one half of the quickly rising electro-rock duo The Hellp). The results will be seen in the new single 'FYN,' dropping on April 4, and an upcoming album. 'AYLA felt like a place where I could freely grow independence, literally,' LØREN adds, sharing that the moves inspired him to jump into action in other parts of life including songwriting, building a studio, organizing his band, and planning future concerts. The timing, the vision — everything came together just right, so the decision to work together was easy.' Get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the concept artwork for 'FYN' and read more with LOREN and AYLA's Darahgianna Park below. LØREN behind the scenes of "FYN" Courtesy of AYLA How did LØREN's signing to AYLA happen? Darahgianna Park: LØREN has been an artist of interest to us for quite some time. We recognized the strong vision in his musical talent and aesthetics. When the timing was right and he decided to take the next step in his career, we were ready to welcome him on board. What unique qualities does AYLA have that are important to someone like LØREN? DGP: For an all-around artist like LØREN—who produces, writes, and is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist—this approach is especially important, and we are dedicated to supporting his journey. When introducing LØREN to the mainstream and U.S. market, we believed that understanding the culture his music stems from and is inspired by was the most crucial factor. Fortunately, LØREN already has a strong grasp of rock culture and a clear vision for himself. With that in mind, AYLA arranged for him to collaborate with legendary producers such as John Feldmann of Goldfinger and Brian Lee. If LØREN had a strong personal sound in his music before, AYLA felt that working with these renowned producers—who have already achieved great success in the mainstream market — was essential in shaping his fresh sound for his growing audience and new fans in this upcoming chapter. Additionally, in shaping LØREN's image, we incorporated the vision of Noah Dillon from The Hellp for a new project. For the FYN project, we captured the right aesthetic with Los Angeles-based designer Greg Ross. AYLA places great importance on culture. Culture isn't just about music; it represents fashion, film, traditions, values, and more. AYLA's goal is to shape LØREN's identity by integrating these elements in a meaningful way, helping him discover himself and define the direction he wants to take. How has this new move been inspiring your music, LØREN? LØREN: I love that AYLA's position in Los Angeles allows me to meet and collaborate with other talented musicians — many of which I grew up listening to. After writing my music in solitude for years, this experience gave me a whole new drive to create. Leaving my comfort zone and taking on new opportunities has given me new inspiration and I can't wait for what's to come with it. What can you tell us about your upcoming project and working with collaborators like Brian Lee? LØREN: What can I say — Brian is a genius, and I say that with zero exaggeration. We've known each other for a while now, but finally, getting to work with him was both exciting and humbling. The amount of energy that he brings into the studio is indescribable, and writing with him was one of the most fun times I had creating. As for the song — it's f-cking great and I can't wait for everyone to hear it. LØREN, behind the scenes of "FYN" Courtesy of AYLA What is your relationship with Teddy and THEBLACKLABEL today? LØREN: Teddy and all the others at THEBLACKLABEL have been nothing but supportive of my new chapter. I've spent almost a decade with them and I honestly feel like they're family. Although I'm no longer a part of it, the bond and the love that I have towards THEBLACKLABEL will never change. What else can we expect from LØREN and AYLA in 2025? LØREN: 'This is a difficult one. I'd say I'm more eager than ever to release more songs. I'm not very easy on myself or my music so the amount of confidence I have in my unreleased music is crazy to me. Apart from that, I'm always dying to play more shows — so, more music and more shows I guess. Easy.' DPG: Our focus is on creating an experience that goes beyond just music—something that connects us all through sound. We are building a creative space where our artists and team can explore new ventures and push creative boundaries together. There are still many ongoing collaborations and new projects that AYLA can't reveal yet, but we are very excited about them. Anything else you want your fans to know? LØREN: Not going to lie — there are so many things I want to talk about, I don't even know where to start. I've finally wrapped up my album, with one of my tracks featuring a video from the very talented Noah Dillon of The Hellp. It was a blast to see his take on the song come to life and I'm dying to see how it turns out. In my recent trip to Los Angeles, I also had a chance to work with John Feldmann of Goldfinger — which is absolutely insane — he's an absolute living legend and it was an honor to get to meet and write something together in his very own studio. All in all, I guess I want to share the excitement I have for the upcoming months and show my gratitude to those who have been patiently waiting for me. Also, thank you Forbes for taking the time to speak with me! LØREN's 'FYN' drops on Friday, April 4, 2025. FYN covera rt Courtesy of AYLA
