Olympic star Sha'Carri Richardson arrested for alleged domestic assault on boyfriend Christian Coleman, but he refuses to press charges

Olympic sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson is making headlines again, but not for her speed on the track. The 25-year-old was arrested on Sunday, July 27, at Seattle, Tacoma International Airport after a public altercation with boyfriend and fellow track star Christian Coleman allegedly turned physical. From track to trouble at the terminal According to multiple reports, Richardson and Coleman got into a heated verbal spat as they exited TSA security. A police officer at the scene claimed to have witnessed Richardson repeatedly push Coleman until he fell into a nearby column. Airport surveillance footage allegedly supports this account, showing Coleman trying to walk away while Richardson continued to bump into him, and at one point, threw a pair of headphones in his direction. Coleman refuses to press charges Despite the scene that unfolded, Coleman reportedly declined to press charges and stated he did not want to be considered a victim. However, that did not stop authorities from detaining Richardson, who was booked at the South Correctional Entity in Des Moines, Washington, that same day. Jail records confirm she was released on Monday, July 28. USA Track and Field (USATF) acknowledged the reports but chose to remain silent on the matter, offering no official comment. Just days after the arrest, Richardson was back on the track for the USATF Outdoor Championships. She competed in the 100-meter preliminary round on Thursday, July 31, where she impressively finished second in her heat with a time of 11.07 seconds, earning her a spot in the semi-finals. But the drama off-track seemed to linger. On Friday, August 1, Richardson withdrew from the semi-finals and also pulled out of the 200-meter race. Still, she holds an automatic bid for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo as the reigning world champion in the 100 meters. From Olympic glory to legal woes Just weeks ago, Richardson was riding high, taking home silver in the 100 meters and gold in the women's 4×100-meter relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The arrest casts a shadow on her rising legacy, sparking questions about how personal turbulence may affect her professional future.

US-bound Japanese flight makes emergency landing in Seattle after man tried opening door

A US-bound Japanese flight which was heading to Houston, Texas from Tokyo had to be diverted to Seattle and made an emergency landing after a passenger tried to open one of its doors during the flight. According to reports, All Nippon Airways (ANA) Flight 114 was diverted to Tacoma International Airport in Seattle where it made an emergency landing, hours after taking off on Saturday 'due to an unruly passenger', the airline said. According to Port of Seattle police, they had been informed about a man who 'attempted to open exit doors during the flight'. Police added that the man, who has not been identified by the officials, was 'having a medical crisis' and had to be restrained by other passengers and flight crew. Police took the man to a hospital, however, it wasn't clear if any charges were being framed against him. All Nippon Airways, in a statement said, 'The safety of our passengers and crew are our top priority and we applaud the efforts of local law enforcement for their support.' The authorities further added that after the plane landed in Seattle and waited on the tarmac, another passenger was removed from the airplane for 'unruly behaviour'. According to the flight data, the plane made it to its destination George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston on Saturday at around 12:40pm (local time), late by approximately four hours than its scheduled time of arrival.
