Savitha hails CM for prioritising education
Bukkapatnam: BC and Handloom Welfare Minister S Savitha emphasised that disciplined education was vital for everyone. She participated as the chief guest at the inauguration of the Government BC Girls Hostel at Bukkapatnam, along with Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy, on Tuesday. Minister Savitha criticised the previous YSRCP government, stating that the education system was completely neglected over the past five years. She appreciated Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for prioritising education and added that Minister for Education Nara Lokesh was taking proactive steps to improve government schools and hostels by enhancing basic infrastructure. She said the current government has allocated a significant budget for the welfare of backward communities and was supporting them economically. Urging students to make the most of improved facilities, she called on them to compete and excel in academics. Education, she said, brings respect and opportunities in society. MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy noted that Andhra Pradesh leads among all Indian States in student welfare. She highlighted that the 'Talli Ki Vandanam' scheme under which the government has deposited nearly Rs 8,700 crore directly into mothers' accounts for their children's future. Calling for gender equality, the MLA encouraged girl students to excel in all fields and compete on par with boys. She assured that she would work towards making Puttaparthi constituency a model in development. MLA Sindhura also appealed to the Minister to sanction a government BC hostel and complete the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule hostel construction in Bukkapatnam. In response, Minister Savitha assured that the government would take steps to establish a new BC girls' hostel and release funds for the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Residential School. She also promised to resolve all the issues raised by MLA Sindhura Reddy in the Puttaparthi constituency. On the occasion, Minister Savitha and MLA Sindhura Reddy, through the APUWJ Journalist Welfare Fund, handed over Rs 30,000 financial aid cheque to ailing journalist Rajagopal from Hindupur, in the presence of association representative Pullayya Babu. The event was attended by district BC welfare officer Rajendra Reddy, mandal BC Hostel warden Lalitha, TDP mandal convenor Malli Reddy, district TDP vice-president Samakoti Adinarayana, senior TDP leaders from Bukkapatnam Lakshminarayana, Subramanyam, Gangadhar, Balu, Yashoda Rayudu, Manjunath, Sai Kumar, party workers and local supporters.

Lorry owners felicitate Andhra Min Dola for reduction of Green Tax
ONGOLE: Members of the Singarayakonda Lorry Owners Association on Sunday felicitated Social Welfare Minister Dr Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy at his camp office in Turpu Naidupalem, expressing gratitude for the reduction of Green Tax on transport vehicles. Dola said the TDP-led NDA coalition government, under Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, is committed to the welfare of all sectors, including transport. He said the previous government had burdened transporters with taxes ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000, pushing the sector into a financial crisis, which was worsened by rising fuel prices. Recalling Naidu's promise to reduce the Green Tax during his opposition tenure, Dola said the coalition government is implementing promises in a phased manner. He listed fulfilled pledges such as enhanced NTR Bharosa pensions, reopening of Anna Canteens, free gas cylinders, and Talli Ki Vandanam. Dola said free bus travel for women will start on August 15, and the Anna Data Sukhibhava scheme will follow soon. AP Lorry Owners Association Vice President and Singarayakonda Association President Chigurupati Seshagiri, Secretary Patel, Subba Rao, and others attended the event.

MLA assures CC roads, drainage system in SC Colony
Anantapur: As part of the 'First Step in Good Governance' programme marking one year of the coalition government, Kalyandurg MLA Amilineni Surendra Babu visited households in Gareeb Nagar and the SC Colony (22nd & 23rd wards) to assess public issues and ensure the delivery of welfare schemes. Speaking to the media, the MLA stated that the State government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, initiated this door-to-door outreach to verify whether key welfare schemes such as 'Talli Ki Vandanam' and pensions are reaching beneficiaries and to identify unresolved grievances. He pointed out that the previous government had failed to provide basic amenities in these wards, leaving residents without proper roads, drainage, or drinking water. To address this, he announced that Rs 2.30 crore has been sanctioned under the SC Sub-Plan for the construction of CC roads and drainage systems in the SC Colony, with work expected to commence shortly. During the visit, the MLA highlighted immediate steps taken to address local needs: A borewell has been installed to ease drinking water shortages and Rs 10,000 in financial assistance was personally handed over to a woman named Bhavani suffering from paralysis. Support was arranged for students pursuing nursing education by coordinating with colleges. The visit drew a warm response from local residents. Accompanied by municipal and ward leaders, the MLA assured that all wards would be visited to understand issues first-hand and take corrective action.

Coalition govt's objective is inclusive devpt, says MLA
Thuggali (Kurnool district): Pathikonda MLA K E Shyam Kumar asserted that the primary objective of the coalition government was public welfare and inclusive development. Speaking on the third day of the 'Good Governance – First Step' initiative held at Marella village in Tuggali mandal on Monday, he emphasised the government's dedication to delivering transparent administration and welfare schemes at the grassroots level. As part of the programme, the MLA went door-to-door to personally explain the various welfare and development schemes being implemented by the coalition government. He enquired about the problems faced by each household and registered their grievances directly in the 'My TDP' app for swift resolution. He directed the concerned officials to address the complaints without delay. Addressing the public, MLA Shyam Kumar said the coalition government was committed to eradicating poverty and uplifting the underprivileged through enhanced support prices for crops, comprehensive crop insurance, free sand distribution, increased pensions, improved services under Aarogyasri, modernised PHCs, and initiatives like 'Talli Ki Vandanam' for students' mothers. He also highlighted reforms in school infrastructure, empowerment of women through DWCRA, free ration supply, enhanced women's safety, youth skill development, employment generation, drinking water projects, rural road development, and the creation of smart villages. He reiterated the coalition government's determination to accelerate the State's development over the next five years. The event saw active participation from TDP leaders, local cadres, and residents, reflecting the public's positive response to the initiative.

Govt committed to strengthening public education system, says Minister Bharath
Kurnool: Education shapes the future, and the Andhra Pradesh government is committed to strengthening the public education system to match the standards of corporate schools, said TG Bharath, Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing. The Minister was speaking at the Mega Parent-Teacher Interaction 2.0 event held at the Town Model High School and Government Junior College in Kurnool on Thursday, where he attended as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bharath emphasised the importance of education in shaping students' future and urged parents to support their children in pursuing subjects they are genuinely interested in, rather than imposing their own choices. He encouraged parents to use such interactions to understand their children's academic and behavioral progress through teachers and offer necessary support. He highlighted initiatives like filling vacant teacher posts, supplying fortified rice, and distributing quality uniforms, books, bags, and shoes to students. Under the 'Talli Ki Vandanam' scheme, he noted that funds were successfully deposited into 97% of mothers' accounts, with the remaining 3% facing minor technical issues, which will be resolved soon. Minister Bharath shared that the number of students at the school has increased from 920 last year to around 1,150 this year, attributing the rise to the government's reforms. He affirmed the government's commitment to developing public schools to a level where they can effectively compete with private institutions. Recalling his father's contributions as the then Minister for Minor Irrigation, he mentioned the construction of 22 classrooms, a mineral water plant, and an auditorium at the same school. The event also featured cultural performances by students, and the Minister honoured students who had excelled in taekwondo competitions. Saplings were distributed to promote environmental responsibility among students. Later, Minister Bharath also participated in the Parent-Teacher Mega Interaction 2.0 event at the Government Junior College, led by Principal Padmavati. Speaking on the occasion, he reflected on completing his Intermediate studies at the same college along with his sister. He underscored the revolutionary changes in education under the NDA government, including the integration of Artificial Intelligence and job-oriented training programmes. Advising students to pursue additional skill development beyond academics, he cautioned against bad influences and substance abuse, encouraging them to maintain a healthy lifestyle with proper nutrition and regular exercise. During the event, students requested the establishment of a mineral water plant and levelling of the playground. The Minister assured that these issues would be addressed, stating that an estimate of Rs 7 crore had been made for infrastructure development across Kurnool schools. He also felicitated Pavani, who topped the MPC stream in Andhra Pradesh with 986 marks, and other students recognised as 'Shining Stars' and Taekwondo medal winners. The event began with a floral tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar's statue on the college premises and was attended by faculty, parents and students.
