5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho reacts to Oregon Ducks' commitment from Tank Jones
Earlier this summer, the Oregon Ducks made a big splash in the recruiting world when they added 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho to the fold, bringing him in as the third 5-star member of the 2026 class, alongside safety Jett Washington and TE Kendre Harrison. It didn't take long for Iheanacho to get the fans riled up, posting on July 13 that the Ducks "got another one" and that a top-5 ranked recruiting class was incoming. That sort of tease got fans talking pretty quickly. Who was Iheanacho referring to, and how quickly would the news come out? Well, it took a few weeks, but on Thursday, the announcement finally came that 5-star EDGE Anthony 'Tank' Jones was committing to the Ducks, choosing Oregon over the Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas A&M Aggies. Jones is rated as the No. 18 player in the class, and the No. 4 EDGE, pushing the Ducks up to No. 8 in the recruiting rankings, per 247Sports, and No. 6 according to On3/Rivals. While it may not technically be a top-5 class just yet, Iheanacho was fired up about the announcement at long last. Iheanacho posted a video on his Instagram story, celebrating in the weight room and saying that he was "lit" after his lift upon hearing the news about Tank. "You already know, Tank's going to the Ducks," Iheanacho said. "Sco Ducks!" This excitement was felt by the Oregon fanbase, many of whom took to social media to celebrate boisterously following the addition of their fourth 5-star player in the class, which now ties Alabama for the most in the nation this cycle. The celebration isn't expected to end soon, either. On Saturday, both 4-star CB Davon Benjamin and 4-star DL Deuce Geralds are also scheduled to announce their commitments, with both expected to pick the Ducks in the end. We will see what Iheanacho has planned for those announcements down the road. US singer Tank withdraws from Ndala Mall opening as the event gets postponed
Just as fans were getting excited about American singer Tank coming to South Africa next month, he has announced that he's not coming due to unforeseen circumstances and business deals 'falling apart'. The event was pencilled to take place this weekend on August 1 and 2 at the Ndlala Arena in Tshwane. In a video posted on his Instagram account, the Grammy-nominated star said it was due to 'business' that he couldn't come to fulfil his obligation. 'As much as I was looking forward to performing for you guys, it's been over ten years. I was super excited. Some things have fallen apart business-wise. Firstly, I want to apologise to you, my fans and all the people who were making plans to pull up and enjoy the R&B music. Due to the business falling apart, I won't be able to fulfil my obligation to you. I sincerely apologise,' he said. ' Hopefully, things can be resolved and I can be there.' The heartthrob was going to headline the opening of Ndlala Mall in the capital city. However, he did hint that he could soon be making his way to Mzansi, saying, 'I love going out there and performing R&B music for people, it's what I do.' It remains to be seen whether he'll make a U-turn on his decision at a later stage. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Dr. Durrell 'Tank' Babbs Sr. (@therealtank) The opening of the mall has been altogether moved to August 23. Media personality Lerato Kganyago's husband, Thami Ndala, who is the CEO of the mall, had previously expressed to Drum that he was excited about the mall's opening, emphasising that he was happy because the opening would mark an 'era' for the Tshwane community. However, he has postponed the opening ceremony to a later date. He maintains that the event will indeed take place, featuring a lineup of artists, with the headlining act to be announced soon. Publicity Manager of the event, Priscilla Malinga, has insisted to Drum that there's nothing sinister about Tank not being able to come to the event and the postponement of the opening of the mall. She promised that soon a new line-up would be made known. 'A new line-up of artists and a headlining act will be announced next week,' she told Drum.

Interior restyled, visually tweaked GWM Tank 500 revealed
Revised version of the Tank brand's flagship luxury off-roader has, so far, yet to be approved for South Africa. Visual updates to the Tank 500 require a keen eye to spot. Image: GWM China The joined oldest model in its global line-up along with the 300, Great Wall Motors (GWM)-owned Tank has given the 500 its first mid-life update since debuting in its home market four years ago. LiDAR takes prominence Unveiled over the weekend in China, the 500's visual upgrades are minor by consisting of a lightly restyled grille, removal of the GWM Tank logo on the spare wheel cover and a new colour called Dunhuang Green. ALSO READ: Burly GWM Tank 500 enters big SUV war with a clear mandate Taking prominence is GWM's LiDAR system recessed in the centre of the roof similar to the Volvo EX90. Working in tandem with the surround-view camera system, the inclusion of LiDAR has seen a reported improvement in safety and driver assistance systems, though no actual details were divulged. Interior significantly renewed Inside, the updates are more prevalent as the centre console has been redesigned to incorporate less physical switchgear. Interior changes are significantly more prominent than the exterior. Image: No longer a floating setup as before, some of the previous traditional buttons and toggle switches remain, however, now located between a pair of 50-watt wireless smartphone charging pads and two cupholders. In addition, the aircraft-style gear lever disappears in favour of a steering column-mounted selector, while the previous chunky buttons below the central air vents remain. While both the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 14.6-inch infotainment display prevail, Tank has included a new drop-down screen similar to the BMW 7 Series, but in 3K and measuring 17.3-inches. Tank 500 now features a drop-down display similar to the BMW 7 Series. Image: GWM China via A refrigerated centre console storage area, standard Nappa leather upholstered seats, and heating, ventilated and massaging functions for the first and second rows complete the interior. Plug-in punch Up front, the Chinese market Tank 500 makes do with two plug-in hybrid powertrains modelled around GWM's 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Unchanged from the pre-facelift model, the line-up opening Hi4-T combines the petrol with a 37.1-kWh lithium battery pack powering a single electric motor. Combined, the Hi4-T develops 300kW/750Nm delivered to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The claimed range, based on China's CLTC measurements, is 110 km. Revealed last year, and said to be coming to South Africa, the Hi4-Z not only adds a second electric motor, but also a bigger 59-kWh battery pack. The result is a total output of 654kW/1 195Nm and a CLTC range of 201 km. Replacing the nine-speed 'box is a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). Global engine options Outside China, the Tank 500 is likely to continue with the self-charging 2.0-litre HEV producing 255kW/648Nm, and the conventional 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 outputting 265kW/500Nm. Limited to Thailand is the 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine shared with the Tank 300 and GWM P300 that develops 135kW/480Nm, mated to nine-speed automatic 'box. Already approved for the 500, but only due to arrive in 2027, is the under-development V6 oil-burner reported to be a 3.0-litre unit. Not for us… yet On-sale in the People's Republic from next month, with pricing to be announced then, the facelift GWM Tank 500 has, so far, not been mentioned for South Africa. However, don't be surprised if more details about its arrival does emerge either towards the end of the year or in 2026. Texans WR Tank Dell makes an appearance at training camp
Tank Dell might not be back in 2025 as he recovers from a devastating knee injury, but that doesn't mean the third-year Houston Texans receiver isn't helping the team in other ways off the field. Texans owner and CEO Cal McNair praised Dell for being an essential part of the team from the sidelines and supporting his teammates during training camp on the sidelines. The former third-round pick was seen at practice in front of fans on Saturday, interacting with the Houston faithful while signing autographs. 'He's got an unbreakable spirit,' Cal McNair said. 'It's showing up in his rehab and we can't wait to get him back here as soon as we can get him.' Dell, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL, LCL and MCL, along with a dislocated knee, will start the year on the PUP list. According to KPRC2 Sports' Aaron Wilson, the speedy receiver isn't expected to be cleared for contact before the end of the regular season. While he's not expected to be clear, Texans general manager Nick Caserio hasn't ruled him out for the season, though he also didn't put a timetable on when he'll be cleared for drills. "Tank's had a good attitude," Caserio said. "Been in the building essentially every day. He is working really hard." DeMeco Ryans mentioned that Dell has been "crushing" the rehab process and has been in a great "headspace," but also wouldn't put a timeline on a recovery timeline. "Whenever Tank is ready to go back, he'll be back.," Ryans said. "I'm concerned about Tank as a young man, just getting back healthy, physically and mentally. When that time is set, he'll be back for us.' Dell, who underwent his latest surgery in March, was seen walking around without any noticeable limp. He's yet to speak to the media, signs are pointing toward his role maybe expanding closer toward the season's end. The Texans return to training camp on Monday.
