RPF restores lost bag with valuables to passenger
Mysuru: In a commendable display of honesty and efficiency, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of South Western Railway, Mysuru division, recovered and returned a vanity bag containing valuables worth Rs 1,49,465 to a female passenger under its ongoing initiative, Operation Amanat. Teja, a resident of Kadur, inadvertently left behind her vanity bag while alighting from train No. 16589 at Kadur railway station on May 21. Upon receiving a complaint via the RailMadad. the grievance redressal portal, the RPF escort team sprang into action, conducting a prompt onboard search. The bag was successfully located and secured by the team, and handed over to the RPF post at Davanagere. Following thorough verification, the bag — containing approximately 15 grams of gold jewellery and two iPhone chargers — was returned to the rightful owner on May 22. Senior divisional commissioner of RPF, Mysuru, Sam Prasanth JR., lauded the team's swift action and commitment to duty. He highlighted that during the financial year 2024–25, the RPF successfully returned lost belongings on 197 occasions, with recovered items valued at Rs 52.6 lakh. Operation Amanat is a dedicated drive by the RPF to trace and return misplaced or lost passenger belongings, reinforcing the force's role not just in security, but also in public service. The passenger extended heartfelt thanks to the RPF personnel for their integrity and prompt response.

RPF Mysuru returns lost baggage worth ₹52.62 lakh to passengers in 2024-25
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Mysuru Division has recovered lost baggage of passengers and returned to their rightful owners 197 times in 2024-25, and the authorities have pegged the value of these items at ₹52.62 lakh. The recovery of lost baggage and returning them to the passengers takes place under Operation Amanat across the country. In the Mysuru Division, the RFP personnel have traced the lost baggage 197 times, the latest being on May 21 when the RPF recovered and returned a vanity bag containing gold ornaments and electronic items worth ₹1,49,465 to a lady passenger. A release stated that on May 21, 2025, Teja, a resident of Kadur, left her bag on Train No. 16589 while deboarding at the Kadur Railway Station. On realising that she had left behind her bag, Ms. Teja filed a complaint and the RPF escort team immediately launched an onboard search and located the bag. It was handed over to the RPF Post at Davangere. After due verification, the belongings, including 15 gram of gold jewellery and two iPhone chargers, were returned to the rightful owner the next day. Senior Divisional Commissioner, RPF Mysuru, J.R. Sam Prasanth, praised the team's efforts in retrieving the lost bag and returning it to the rightful owner. Ms. Teja expressed her gratitude to the RPF for its swift response.

Greater Chennai Corporation painting icons of North Chennai across Vyasarpadi flyover pillars
In order to give Vyasarpadi a facelift, the Greater Chennai Corporation plans to display murals of famous North Chennai personalities in public spaces. Currently, walls and pavements in the area are strewn with political posters and banners of private events. This beautification initiative is being carried out as a part of North Chennai Improvement project. Regional Deputy Commissioner (RDC) (North) Katta Ravi Teja said that this was being done to promote motivation among people who feel they lack guidance or encouragement, to pursue education and discipline through art. 'Since the icons being painted are from North Chennai itself, the viewers might find their stories relatable,' he added. Across nine of the 20 pillars of the Vyasarpadi flyover, which connects Basin Bridge Road with neighbouring arterial stretches, painting is underway. The flyover serves as a key transit corridor in North Chennai, and spans 680 meters in length and 15 meters in width. Thousands of commuters pass through this route daily, making these murals highly noticeable, Mr. Teja said. High achievers The portraits include those of ₹5-doctor V. Thiruvengadam, who passed away in 2020; V. Dilli Babu, a defence scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), known for his work in defence technology and resource utilisation; and S. Nandakumar, the only player from Tamil Nadu to represent India at the 2023 Intercontinental Cup. The murals also depict Khazima M. Basha, an 18-year-old carrom player from Kasimedu, who became the youngest world champion by winning the 6th Carrom World Cup in San Francisco in November 2024, and V. Nandakumar, an officer in the Indian Revenue Service (IRS).

However, he clarified that he does not intend to initiate any conflict with the production house. Teja's 'Dude' revolves around football and is being made in three South Indian languages Teja further explained that his version of 'Dude' is a sports-centric film with football at its core. He is directing and producing the film in Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, aiming to appeal to a broad audience across South India.
