Tejashwi Yadav Slams Nitish Kumar Over Muzaffarpur Rape Case

Patna: Bihar Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his government on Monday over the Muzaffarpur rape case and medical negligence at PMCH that led to the death of a 10-year-old Dalit girl. Speaking to the media, Tejashwi Yadav said, "Whether it's law and order, healthcare, education, or employment, this double-engine government has failed completely. The Chief Minister has never expressed regret on any such issue. I doubt if he even knows about this brutal rape case." Tejashwi Yadav strongly criticised the Chief Minister and his two deputies for allegedly being preoccupied with political events and election preparations, saying they were ignoring public grievances and justice. "Criminals are dominant in Bihar. Bullets are being fired near the Secretariat and even outside the Chief Minister's residence. There is no law and order left in Bihar," Yadav added, pointing to recent violent crimes across the state. On the victim's death, Yadav claimed the child was left in an ambulance for over four hours without treatment at PMCH, which he described as an inexcusable administrative failure. "No one from the government met the victim's family. This shows the insensitivity of the ruling alliance," he said. When asked about his brother Tej Pratap Yadav's controversy and comments involving the term "Jaichand," Tejashwi said the matter has been handled by RJD national president Lalu Prasad Yadav, and he would not comment on personal issues. On Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's statement criticising the NDA's focus on optics over substance, Yadav said, "He has only spoken the truth. Airports are being inaugurated, PM Modi did the road show, but martyr families are being ignored. Crimes against children are happening, yet no one in the government speaks out about it." 'Worse than Taliban': Tejashwi Yadav shares disturbing video, says doctor treating rape victim's mother brutally beaten by accused in Bihar

NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday posted a disturbing video on X, claiming that a doctor who went to treat the mother of a rape victim in Bihar's Gaya district was tied to a tree and mercilessly beaten by the accused. 'The situation in Bihar is worse than Taliban,' Yadav wrote in his post. 'In Gaya district, the doctor who went to treat the mother of a rape victim was tied to a tree and beaten to a bloody pulp by the accused.' In a sharp attack on the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Tejashwi said that law and order in the state has completely collapsed under its two-decade rule. 'In the 20 years of the corrupt NDA government, the police and administration have remained incapable of preventing crime, catching criminals, getting them punished and justice,' he wrote. He further added, 'That is why people are taking the law into their own hands as and when they want. There is a chaotic situation in Bihar. The chief minister is unconscious, the government is drunk. Officers and ministers are busy looting the treasury and the administration is in disarray.'

Muzaffarpur rape case:

Patna (Bihar) [India], June 4 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Jaiswal on Wednesday slammed RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for raising questions on the NDA-led Bihar government over the alleged negligence in the treatment of minor girl who was allegedly raped and murdered in Muzaffarpur. Jaiswal said that efforts were made to save the girl, and actions have been taken against the individuals who made her wait in the ambulance for hours outside the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). Lambasting at Bihar LoP Yadav, the BJP leader counter-questioned him over the administration system and law and order maintenance during the reign of former Chief Minister and his father, Lalu Yadav. 'All efforts were made to save her. The delay which occurred in PMCH was sad. Actions have been taken against the accused. The government itself is not present everywhere; the system of government is there. Action was taken on the shortcomings found in the system. Can't Tejashwi see that the accused of the incident was nabbed within 12 hours of the incident. In his father's time, what happened with Shilpi Jain and Champa Vishwas, will Tejashwi apologise for that?... ' Jaiswal told ANI. Earlier on June 2, lashing out at the 'double-engine' government in Bihar over the alleged rape and murder of a minor girl in Muzaffarpur, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged 'administrative anarchy' in the state as law and order has 'collapsed'. 'The double-engine government has failed in Bihar. The CM never discussed this; I am unsure if he is even aware of the incidents. Law and order have collapsed. There is administrative anarchy in the whole of Bihar. No action is being taken... No one has time to meet the victim or the victim's family. The CM and both the Deputy CMs are busy in political programmes,' Tejashwi Yadav said. This comes after a 10-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped and attacked on May 26 in Muzaffarpur, succumbed to her injuries at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on June 1. Her relatives alleged that the child was left waiting in an ambulance for several hours before she was admitted to the hospital. On Monday, Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey condemned the alleged rape and brutal assault of a minor girl in Muzaffarpur as 'extremely sad and painful,' assuring that immediate action has been taken and justice would be delivered through a speedy trial. His remark comes amid mounting public anger and political outrage after the victim, attacked on May 26, succumbed to her injuries at a Patna hospital on June 1. 'Soon after the incident, the accused was arrested. The Muzaffarpur SSP has assured that a chargesheet will be filed promptly and a speedy trial will follow to ensure justice,' Pandey said. The accused had been arrested and sent to judicial custody, said Muzaffarpur SSP Sushil Kumar on Monday. 'This incident occurred on May accused lived in a neighbouring village and knew them. He used to come there often. He was a fish seller. He lured the girl and raped her. Taking swift action, the Police arrested the accused. He has been sent to judicial custody. The FSL team had gone there, and the spot was examined. All samples have been collected, including samples from clothes too,' Kumar said. 'We have sent all of this to FSL for examination. Besides this, we will file a chargesheet within 15 days. This will be brought under a speedy trial, so that we can take whatever further action is required,' he added. Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports detailing the tragic death of the victim on June 1 at PMCH, and has sought a detailed report from the state authorities. Bihar has been carrying failure of NDA govt for many years: RJD's Tejashwi Yadav

Patna (Bihar) [India], June 4 (ANI): Former Bihar Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday took a dig at the NDA government in the state, saying that the state has been suffering from the Bihar government's failure for many years. In a post on X, Yadav shared a caricature and said, 'Bihar has been carrying the failure of the Bihar government for many years!' Earlier on June 2, Lashing out at the 'double-engine' government in Bihar over the alleged rape and murder of a minor girl in Muzaffarpur, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged 'administrative anarchy' in the state as law and order has 'collapsed'. Speaking to the media, Yadav said that no one from the government has time to visit the victim's family, as 'the CM and his Deputy CMs are busy with political programmes.' 'The double-engine government has failed in Bihar. This comes after a 10-year-old girl died at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on Sunday. The minor girl's uncle, Virendra Paswan, has, however, alleged negligence on the part of the hospital administration and doctors, stating that she was kept waiting for two hours inside the ambulance before getting admission to the hospital. On Sunday, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, lashed out at the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, led by Nitish Kumar, over the 'brutality against a minor Dalit girl', alleging negligence in her treatment at the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). In a post on X, LoP Gandhi alleged that the 'double-engine' government's negligence led to the Dalit girl's death. 'The brutality against a minor Dalit girl in Muzaffarpur and the subsequent negligence in her treatment are extremely shameful. If she had received timely treatment, her life could have been saved. But the double-engine government was negligent not only in providing security but also in saving his life,' he said. The Congress leader further demanded strict action against the accused. 'We will not sit quietly until the victim's family gets justice. Strict action should be taken against the culprits and negligent officers,' the post read. Notably, the Bihar assembly election is due this year. (ANI)

Bihar twist: Owaisi, dubbed BJP's 'B team' by RJD, Congress, wants to join INDIA

Often dubbed as the BJP's 'B team', Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM has expressed interest in joining hands with the RJD and Congress in Mahagathbandhan for the forthcoming assembly elections in Bihar. The development was confirmed to India Today on Tuesday by Akhtarul Iman, president of AIMIM's Bihar unit. He said that they have contacted RJD's Tejashwi Yadav with the proposal, but a response is yet to as prospects of a mega-alliance linger, questions are being raised about whether Owaisi's intent is indeed to become a part of the Mahagathbandhan to fiercely take on the NDA, or a casual move devoid of any seriousness to shrug off BJP's 'B team' SENDS FEELERS TO TEJASHWI YADAVThe Bihar unit of AIMIM recently got in touch with a few MLAs of the RJD and Congress to send feelers to the top brass of both parties regarding Owaisi's interest to being a part of the Mahagathbandhan. However, a response is yet to come from the decision makers. Akhtarul Iman told India Today that the AIMIM contacted Tejashwi Yadav through a few RJD legislators close to him with a proposal of both parties forging an alliance, especially in the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region of are against the BJP and therefore have reached out to Tejashwi Yadav with a proposal to be part of the Mahagathbandhan through their MLAs. Now the ball is in his court to take a decision in this regard. His MLAs have informed me that my proposal was under consideration and has not been rejected so far," Iman further said that Owaisi has given a green signal to the state unit of AIMIM to move ahead with the proposal to be part of the Mahagathbandhan."We have spoken to Asaduddin Owaisi regarding the state unit of AIMIM keen on being part of Mahagathbandhan, and he has given us full freedom to initiate talks with the RJD and Congress leaders," Iman told India TO BRUSH OFF B TEAM TAG?Akhtarul Iman, however, firmly said that if the AIMIM's proposal to join Mahagathbandhan does not happen, the party should not be blamed for damaging the RJD in the upcoming elections, as has been alleged by Tejashwi Yadav, who called Owaisi the "B team" of the BJP."We want to be part of the Mahagathbandhan with full honesty, but I will also try to send a message that if tomorrow the RJD faces electoral damage, they should not blame us", Akhtarul Iman comments make the proposal look more like a political strategy to send a message to the Muslim voters of the eastern state that the AIMIM wanted an alliance but was pushed his last visit to Bihar's Kishanganj, Owaisi said his party was ready to contest at least 100 seats and would target winning at least 24 of them. This served as a firm message to Tejashwi Yadav of the AIMIM's calibre to cause CHALLENGES TEJASHWI YADAVIn 2020, the AIMIM contested 20 seats and won five in the Bihar assembly elections. The party pulled 5,23,279 votes (1.24%). However, after a few months, as many as four MLAs of the party rebelled and joined the party's performance in the 2020 polls was, perhaps, one of the vital reasons why the RJD fell short of forming a government in the state. The AIMIM caused severe damage to Tejashwi Yadav's side, especially in the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal Reel IN THIS STORY#Asaduddin Owaisi#Tejashwi Yadav#Rahul Gandhi#Bihar#Bihar Assembly Elections
