Tahsildar, surveyor of Amangal mandal in ACB net
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a tahsildar and a mandal surveyor in Rangareddy district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 each to facilitate land-related work. The accused officials were identified as Chintakindi Lalitha, tahsildar of Amangal mandal, and Kota Ravi, mandal surveyor, who were trapped by the ACB's City Range-2 unit after they demanded ₹50,000 each from a complainant. The bribe was sought to complete a land registration process and for making typographical corrections in land records relating to the complainant's grandmother. Investigators stated that Lalitha had already accepted ₹50,000 from the complainant to initiate the process. Both the accused were arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is underway. The ACB urged the public to report instances of bribery by contacting the ACB through its toll-free number 1064 or via WhatsApp, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter). The Bureau assured that identity of complainants will be kept confidential.

Jagtial District Transport Officer, driver in Telangana ACB net
Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested the district transport officer (DTO) and his personal driver in Jagtial district for demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant in exchange for an official favour. The accused officer, identified as Banoth Bhadru Naik, posted as the DTO in Jagtial, allegedly received a bribe of ₹22,000 through his personal driver, Banoth Aravind. The bribe was demanded to avoid booking a case against the complainant, to prevent the imposition of a fine on his earth mover, and to ensure the release of the complainant's mobile phones. According to ACB officials, the tainted amount of ₹22,000 was recovered from the possession of the driver, Aravind. Investigation revealed that the officer had initially demanded a bribe of ₹40,000, later reducing it to ₹35,000. Out of this, ₹13,000 had already been paid on August 4 as an initial instalment. The remaining ₹22,000 was handed over on August 6 through the private driver, leading to the case. Both the officer and the driver have been arrested and produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Karimnagar. Further investigation is underway. ACB warns against fraudsters posing as officials to extort money
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has issued a public alert after reports surfaced of individuals making fake calls in the name of ACB officials and attempting to extort money from public servants. The callers have been threatening government employees with false cases unless bribes are paid. In one such incident reported on August 5, a complaint was lodged at the Abids police station in Hyderabad, prompting the ACB to release an official clarification. The Director General of the ACB stated that no official from the Bureau would ever call public servants demanding money to avoid registration of cases. Citizens and government employees have been warned against such fraudulent calls or making any payments. Victims are encouraged to contact the ACB's toll-free helpline 1064 or inform their local police station. The ACB also advised that it can be reached via social media platforms such as WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), and X at @TelanganaACB. Authorities have assured that the identity and details of complainants will be kept confidential.

Two government officials in ACB net
In two separate incidents reported on Thursday, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) booked two government officials for allegedly demanding and accepting bribes in return for official favours. The accused include a Deputy Tahsildar from Siddipet district and an Assistant Labour Officer from Mancherial. In the first case, Yelagandula Bhavani, a 42-year-old Deputy Tahsildar posted at the Tahsildar Office in Mulugu mandal, Siddipet district, was booked for demanding ₹2 lakh from a complainant. The bribe was allegedly demanded on April 24, 2025 in exchange for processing the Pattadar passbook of the complainant's relative. The case is currently under investigation. In the second incident, Katam Ram Mohan, an Assistant Labour Officer from Mancherial and Sirpur Kagaznagar, was arrested at his residence while accepting ₹50,000 from a complainant. The amount was allegedly demanded for processing and forwarding an accidental death claim and funeral charges related to the death of the complainant's brother, a registered building construction labourer. The tainted cash was recovered, and the accused officer was produced before the special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar. Further investigation is underway. ACB raids in Sub-Registrar Offices across Telangana reveals irregularities
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out raids at three Sub-Registrar Offices (SRO) across the State on Thursday, July 17. The checks were conducted at Bibi Nagar in Nalgonda district, Sadashivapet in Medak district, and Jadcherla in Mahabubnagar district, leading to the seizure of nearly ₹98,000 and revealing a host of irregularities. At the Sub-Registrar Office in Bibi Nagar, officials seized unaccounted cash amounting to ₹61,430. Authorities also found 12 unauthorised private agents and document writers operating within the premises. During the inspection, 93 registered documents that were meant to be dispatched were discovered in the possession of SRO staff. The closed-circuit cameras installed on site were found to be non-functional, and multiple government registers had not been properly maintained. In Jadcherla, Mahabubnagar district, the ACB team seized ₹30,900 in unaccounted cash and found 11 unauthorised agents working inside the office. A total of 20 registered documents were found inappropriately retained by staff, and several official records were not properly maintained. The Sadashivapet office in Medak district saw the seizure of ₹5,550 in unaccounted money. Nine unauthorised private agents were present inside the office, and 39 registered documents that should have been dispatched were instead held by SRO staff. As in Bibi Nagar, the CCTV cameras were not operational and several government registers had not been updated. ACB officials also reported inconsistencies in the personal cash held by SRO staff and their personal cash registers. Additional irregularities were noted during the inspection. The ACB has stated that detailed reports from all three locations will be submitted to the government for further action.
