‘Thalliki Vandanam' Scheme: How To Get Rs 15,000 Aid – Step-by-Step Guide For Mothers
Last Updated: Thalliki Vandanam Scheme: Andhra government will deposit Rs 15,000 directly into the accounts of students' mothers. Certain key conditions must be fulfilled to receive this benefit The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a key update on the 'Thalliki Vandanam' scheme. As part of the newly formed coalition government's 'Super Six' promises made during the elections, the scheme is set to be implemented this June. With schools reopening on June 12 after the summer break, the government is taking steps to ensure financial assistance reaches the mothers of school-going children on time. Under the 'Thalliki Vandanam' scheme, the state government will deposit Rs 15,000 directly into the bank accounts of students' mothers. The amount is intended as a token of respect for the efforts and dedication of mothers towards their children's education. However, to receive this benefit, certain important conditions must be fulfilled. To be eligible for the payment, the mother's bank account must be linked to both: Her Aadhaar number, and The NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) system. Officials have clearly stated that if either of these linkages is missing, the payment will not be processed. According to recent government orders, the Aadhaar and NPCI linking process must be completed by June 5. To facilitate this, postal department staff, village/ward secretariats, and bank officials will assist beneficiaries in completing the necessary procedures. Authorities have urged all eligible mothers to check whether their bank accounts are linked with Aadhaar and NPCI. If not, the linking must be completed urgently through the nearest Mee Seva centre, post office, or bank branch. NPCI linking is essential for enabling direct benefit transfers (DBT) under government schemes. Without it, even if the money is released, it won't be credited to the beneficiary's account. To avoid inconvenience, the government has directed all departments to provide special support. Linking centres are also being set up in rural areas to make the process easier for beneficiaries. The government emphasises that this is not just a financial aid programme, but a gesture to recognise and honour the pivotal role played by mothers. It also marks the beginning of fulfilling the 'Super Six' promises, aimed at increasing public trust and welfare. First Published: June 02, 2025, 10:55 IST

Andhra Pradesh government mulls introducing direct benefit transfer for public distribution system beneficiaries
Vijayawada: Taking a serious view of the misuse of the public distribution system (PDS) rice, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that the state govt is considering implementing direct benefit transfer (DBT) instead of providing rice through the public distribution system (PDS). Naidu stated that the 'ration mafia' has deeply infiltrated the system and is attempting to influence him, warning that strong action will be taken against them. Under the proposed DBT system, money will be directly deposited into the accounts of beneficiaries, allowing them to purchase essentials at their convenience. The chief minister also outlined plans for doorstep delivery of rations for people above 65 years and differently-abled individuals, while others can collect their rations from nearby shops with the flexibility to choose their preferred outlet. Naidu expressed concerns over the increasing incidence of diabetes in the Konaseema region, attributing it to high rice consumption. During a monthly pension program at Cheyyeru village in Dr B R Ambedkar Konaseema district, Naidu interacted with women NREGS workers and extended financial assistance to two families who lost earning members due to diabetes-related complications. He also promised to provide employment to their daughters. The chief minister highlighted the govt's focus on creating 20 lakh job opportunities for youth and noted that the state is on track to achieve this goal, with ₹8.5 lakh crore investments already secured in the first year. Naidu also outlined various welfare schemes launched by the NDA government, including pension enhancements, free gas cylinders, financial assistance to fishermen, and power subsidies in the first year and assured to implement poll promises like Thalliki Vandanam, Annadata Sukhibhava and free bus for women by August 15. Naidu expressed concerns over the declining population and urged people to have at least two children. He said that despite having financial troubles, AP is ahead of all states in giving the highest pension to the poor. The previous govt destroyed every system, and AP was blacklisted by the Union govt. However, we restored 94 centrally sponsored schemes and cleared more than Rs 7,500 crore pending PF arrears to employees. Referring to the controversy over Pastor Praveen Pagadala's death, Naidu said that propaganda machines are trying hard to defame the govt. Similar attempts were made in TTD as if something happened. Naidu warned of stringent action against those making false allegations.

Botcha accuses NDA government of deceiving women by not implementing ‘Aadabidda Nidhi' scheme
Leader of the Opposition in the A.P. Legislative Council Botcha Satyanarayana on Monday alleged that the TDP-led NDA government reneged on its election promise of providing ₹1,500 a month to women in the age of 18-59 under the 'Aada bidda' scheme. Addressing a media conference here on Monday, Mr. Satyanarayana said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had said in at a recent meeting that he had included the funds under the scheme to the P4 programme. This indicates that the TDP has no intention of implementing the scheme. He wondered what was the connection between P4 and 'Aada bidda' scheme, under which ₹18,000 a year was promised to each beneficiary. He sought to know as to when the estimated one crore beneficiaries under the scheme would be given the money. The YSRCP MLC recalled that Mr. Naidu and leaders of the NDA parties had promised to implement 'Super Six' promises before the elections. During the rule of an earlier TDP government, he had promised to waive the DWCRA loans but conveniently forgot it after assuming power. The 'Thalliki Vandanam' scheme was not implemented last year, he added. Mr. Satyanarayana alleged that the differences among the alliance partners came to the fore during the election of the Deputy Mayor in Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) on Monday. The alliance corporators did not attend the election in adequate numbers due to their differences on the choice of candidate for the post of Deputy Mayor, which led to the postponement of the election due to lack of quorum.
