Grammy winner Taylor Swift is no stranger to making her songs and lyrics have special meaning with several "easter eggs," as some call them, popping up in her songs. With Swift in a relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, many are subtly waiting for Taylor's next album to feature the future Hall of Famer. Swift has done this quite regularly, and her friend, singer and songwriter Lucy Dacus, is now speaking out about when she found out she was going to be used in one of Taylor's songs. Taylor Swift's 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, featured a girl named Lucy in a song called "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart," with the lyrics referencing Lucy. In speaking with PEOPLE, Dacus revealed that Swift did ask her for permission to use her name in the song, but also said that listening to it for the first time was definitely an experience. "Well, I pushed play on the album just like, 'Oh, this is so crazy,'" Dacus said. "This is the first Taylor record to come out since meeting her, and listening to a friend's record feels so much different than a stranger's record. So I was like, 'This is really weird. This voice that I've heard basically what feels like my whole waking life saying my name.'" With Swift developing a knack for putting extra meaning into her lyrics and referencing people who have been a part of her life, we wonder who the next person will be that gets a mention. ... Well, along with Kelce, of course, who is allegedly the inspiration for at least tracks from her recent album The Tortured Poets Department. The first song that jumps Swifties cite in that regard is The Alchemy, the 15th track on the album. Another is the 22nd track, where she makes a football reference and described how love feels 'So High School.''The rumors and the odds are that Kelce will see his name somehow weaved into a song on Taylor's next album, and we all wait with excitement to finally hear how it fits in. And like Dacus, we imagine that when Travis first hears it, it will be a little odd, but we think he will end up enjoying it regardless.

Taylor Swift's Friend Reveals 'Really Weird' Experience Involving Ex-Boyfriend Matt Healy
It is believed that at least two of Taylor Swift's songs on her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," are about her boyfriend, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs. The All-Pro tight end is supposedly referenced in the songs "The Alchemy" and "So High School," as Swift continues to share her life experiences to her fans through her lyrics. At the same time, another track on the album is widely considered to be about her ex-boyfriend Matt Healy, who is the frontman of the band The 1975. Swift and Healy had a brief fling in 2023 that reportedly lasted for just one month. Nevertheless, the whirlwind romance still had such an impact on the "Karma" singer that she supposedly wrote a song about him. In the hit "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart," Swift sings: "Sometimes, I wonder if you're gonna screw this up with me / But you told Lucy you'd kill yourself if I ever leave / And I had said that to Jack about you, so I felt seen / Everyone we know understands why it's meant to be / 'Cause we're crazy." As it turns out, the Lucy who was referenced in the lyrics is singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus, who also happens to be a friend of both Swift and Healy. In a recent interview with People, Dacus revealed that Swift even reached out to her before name-dropping her in the song. "I think it's fair game to say 'yes,'" Dacus told People. "She actually texted me and asked for my approval." According to Dacus, who is also part of the Grammy Award-winning supergroup Boygenius, the experience of listening to the song for the first time was "really weird."
