Popular reality TV show exposed as fake in shocking behind-the-scenes video... and fans aren't happy
Fans have expressed outrage after behind-the-scenes footage of The Amazing Race Australia was shared online, showing contestants 'staging' a challenge. In the clip, a female contestant and her male companion can be seen reading instructions three times before heading off to their next destination. A crew member can be seen telling the pair to 'go again' as the couple race away from the camera. The pair can then be seen returning to their original position and redoing their exit. The footage, which was first posted in 2022, was shared by TikTokker ' Kickforwards ' with the caption, 'If anyone says reality TV is real show them this.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. It appears that the revealing behind-the-scenes moment was captured during the filming of the sixth season of the popular show and reposted. In the clip the contestants are heading for the South Mole Lighthouse in Fremantle, Western Australia. The stunning footage has attracted 674 comments from fans on TikTok, with many expressing outrage. 'As a lifelong fan of The Amazing Race I am appalled,' said one disappointed viewer. 'Wow this makes the show not so much an Amazing Race at all. Just shows that they aren't really racing at all,' added another fan. 'I did not need to know this,' wrote another TikTokker. Still, a number of users on the platform showed support for The Amazing Race production team, and suggested that the show was a fair 'race' for all contestants. 'I worked one challenge on the third Amazing Race,' said one TikTokker. They continued, 'It was nothing like this. If we missed the shot, that was it, we missed the shot.' 'They came to my workplace. Everything I saw was very real and not scripted,' explained another user. 'They are still racing, though,' explained another viewer. 'Think of these reshoots as hurdles in a race. Everyone has to do them. Reality TV shows are a hybrid or 'real' and 'production'.' 'It's not scripted with a set there has to be structure in production to air a polished tv show.' The 2022 season was won by Toni Hilland and her husband, Heath Curry, with the couple walking away with $250,000 in prize money. In 2023, the pair welcomed their first child, a baby girl, Amelia Hope Curry. Toni has been living life to the fullest ever since she was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer and brain tumours. She and Heath announced the incredible news back in February 2023 that they were expecting a child via surrogate. The 41-year-old said her close friend Dea offered to be a surrogate mother for the couple after they were forced to give up their IVF journey due to Hilland's illness. 'The BEST is yet to come - we are PREGNANT! Baby girl Curry is due on the 9th of April! 2022 was a big, huge, AMAZING year for us, but we know 2023 is going to be the best yet!' Hilland said online. Meanwhile, Beau Ryan is set to host the new season of The Amazing Race Australia which will screen on Channel Ten later this year.

Julie Chen addresses ‘Big Brother' retirement plans
Julie Chen Moonves will always be the head of the 'Big Brother' household. The television personality, 55, has hosted the long-running CBS reality show since 2000. And in honor of the competition series' 25th anniversary, Chen Moonves revealed if she sees retirement in her future. 'You know what?' she told Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday. 'This is a game of chicken. As long as Probst and Keoghan are there, so am I.' Advertisement 10 Julie Chen Moonves hosts 'Big Brother.' I can give the Energizer Bunny a run for its money.' 10 The CBS series 'Big Brother.' CBS via Getty Images When it comes to her fellow hosts, Chen Moonves stated, 'I don't want to see someone else host 'Survivor' or 'Amazing Race' either. I really don't.' The former talk show host has a great deal of affection for 'Big Brother,' which enters its 27th season on Thursday. Advertisement 'It goes two ways,' Chen Moonves noted about the series. 'I can't imagine my life without 'Big Brother' every summer, and I can't imagine 'Big Brother' without me. It's kind of like we go hand in hand. I'm part of the show from season 1 and part of building it up.' 10 'Big Brother' Season 9. Can you imagine someone else delivering 'But first…' or 'Love one another' or 'Expect the unexpected' or 'The power is up for grabs'? I don't think so,' Chen Moonves said. 'There are mixed emotions internally and externally about bringing back past players because they get a little bit jaded and they're more sophisticated, and some of them you don't want to bring back because they were difficult the first time around.' On Sunday, Chen Moonves celebrated the 25th anniversary with a sweet Instagram tribute. 'Twenty-five years ago, a new show arrived on our screens,' she penned. 'It was a social experiment like never before. We rooted for our favorites, watched epic blindsides, watched showmances blossom, were locked in for the live evictions, and so much more. So, thank you for these amazing 25 years of Big Brother. We wouldn't be here without all of you.' 10 Julie Chen Moonves during evictions on 'Big Brother.' After the scandal, the celeb began going by 'Julie Chen Moonves' instead of just 'Julie Chen' while hosting 'Big Brother.' Oilers faithful Superfan Magoo hits TV screens on The Amazing Race Canada
When Blair Gladue and his wife Skylene 'Nipîy' Gladue were asked to join this season's cast of The Amazing Race he had one big worry. 'I looked at the schedule and I was like, 'oh, no, you know what? If we do this, I'm going to miss the first two rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs,'' says Gladue, known best in Oiler fandom and Edmonton at large as Superfan Magoo. 'Then, if we lost any of those first two rounds, it's going to be on me.' Thankfully the Oilers made it past those two playoff encounters for Gladue, who runs Magoo Crew Entertainment when he isn't leading chants and beating on a drum at Rogers Place games. Gladue and his five associates host youth workshops across the country, focusing on hoop and traditional dancing, rapping and break dancing as they dispense their message about suicide awareness and anti-bullying. Gladue's wife Skylene is also an entertainer; she's unavailable for the interview due to prior commitments as part of the touring cast of Bear Grease, which is currently enjoying an Off-Broadway run at the Theater at St. Luke's in Manhattan. With no way to check in on McDavid and crew from mid-April to mid-May, Gladue was forced to stay in the moment as he competed against 11 teams representing cities from across Canada. This year, five contestants were drawn from Alberta: Jesse Harink of Sherwood Park (teamed with Ontario's Jonathan Braun) plus Calgary brothers Osas and Esosa Igbinosun battling with the Gladues for provincial glory. Gladue, who says that he's watched a number of seasons in the past, admits that he wasn't quite prepared for what he and his wife went through. 'It was insane, amazing, and crazy,' says Gladue, 'Emotions were running wild, adrenaline was flowing. It's nothing like when you're watching it on TV. It's, in fact, 10 times harder than what you see on TV. This was a life-changing experience for sure.' The reality show, which features teams in competition with each other across the country, kicks off Tuesday (July 8) at 9 p.m. MT on CTV, and the CTV app, with streaming available the next day on Crave. Episodes after that run every Tuesday until the still-to-be-announced final entry. Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton was the starting point, but the competition sees the teams moving through Red Deer, Prince George, the Northwest Territories and beyond. The pace is hectic, the physical toll punishing. That being said, Gladue insists that if anyone gets the opportunity to do it, they should snap it up immediately. 'But make sure, before you do it, that you do a lot of running and a lot of walking,' he cautions. 'Work out and eat well, because you're going to need all of that; it's not easy. I'm a high-energy guy, always moving, and my wife is the one who works out every morning, goes to the gym. But after the show, I'm like, 'You know what? Man, I need this.' I need to work out more, so I stretch and work out every morning, seven days a week.' Gladue and his wife can't speak to anything that happened during their month-long competition, but Blair does speak fondly of the friends he made. We'll just have to keep up with episodes as they roll in to see who wins season 11, with its attendant prizes of two 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS, a trip around the world, and a $250,000 cash prize. If the Gladues win it all, they promise to use some of that cash money for good, just as they promised at the very beginning to represent Indigenous people and the youth. 'Except that on our clothing, it said 'fer the youth,' not 'for the youth,'' he explains. 'That's youth slang. We're getting the message out there, representing our people, our community, you know, but also representing our Oiler fans!'
