Ditch denim shorts for Kate Middleton's go-to this summer – you can grab a pair in Asda for £14
WITH summer upon us, ditching trousers in favour of shorts is often the most tempting option. However, if restrictive denim shorts don't seem appealing, there is a refined alternative - one that has earned the approval of none other than the Princess of Wales herself. 3 Princess Kate, 43, doesn't often wear shorts, but when she does she is unsurprisingly the picture of elegance. One of her favourite types are chino shorts, which are both comfortable as well as stylish. We saw the future Queen wear a dusty green pair in The Bahamas during her and Prince William's Caribbean Tour, as they took part in a sailing regatta. The shorts were clearly perfect for the practical activity, being lightweight and breathable, but also looked chic with their streamlined shape and high-waist. Kate also demonstrated how they can look smart, by dressing them up with a sleek belt. Thankfully the royal-approved chino shorts trend doesn't have to break the bank. Asda currently has a pair in a khaki colour similar to Kate's, and they cost just £14. The chino shorts come in sizes eight to 24, and currently have five-star reviews. The shorts have two side pockets, with two mock back pockets behind. They also have a turned up hem, and loops, should you wish to take style notes from Kate and add a belt. Princess Kate bounces into the Royal Box on Centre Court to cheering crowds as she watches the Wimbledon women's final We previously saw Kate showcasing her sea legs in a pair of navy blue shorts as she went head to head with Prince William at the King's Cup event. Appearing on the royal documentary Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story, royal journalist Ashley Pearson revealed that Kate Middleton can be restricted in what she wears. Commenting on Kate's unique position in the Royal Family (and how this plays into her fashion choices), Ashley said: "Kate Middleton has a whole other set of rules and restrictions because she's going to be Queen. "She and Meghan are not on the same page. Kate Middleton has to wear her skirts a certain length." 3 Kate Middleton's down-to-earth school run look Whilst we have previously seen stunning images of Kate dropping the children off at Lambrook School, it turns out, on a day-to-day basis, things are much less glossy than you may imagine. A friend told the Daily Record: "There are no blow-dries - it's always hair up in a ponytail. "She's either in her gym clothes, or a dress and sneakers, very little makeup, apologising as she's late for the school run before dashing off. 'It's the life of a working mum with three young children - just a different sort of day job to most." In fact, when George and Charlotte attended their previous school of St Thomas' in South London, it was reported that parents barely gave Kate a second glance during drop off and pick ups. One parent told the Daily Mail: "No one really gives Kate a second glance when she does the school drop-off. "We have a Victoria's Secret model doing the school run, too, and the dads are far more interested in her."

Captain Sandy shares the travel moment that changed her life, why boating is an escape
Captain Sandy Yawn is best known for leading crews on Bravo's "Below Deck Mediterranean," but her maritime career began with a visit to The Bahamas. Yawn, who has traveled the world as a superyacht captain, initially started out by answering an ad in the newspaper for a job washing boats in 1990. 'I washed the boat so well the owner offered me a full-time job,' she told USA TODAY. Her first trip on the vessel took her to the Caribbean island country. As she crossed The Bahamas Banks, she could see the ocean floor through crystal clear water. 'It was beautiful and I thought, Oh my gosh, I'm getting paid for this,' she said. 'What a great job.' Yawn, who also recently became an ambassador for marine marketplace Boatmart, spoke to USA TODAY about her first visit to the Mediterranean, her perfect day on vacation and why boating can be good therapy. This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity. My first time to the Mediterranean was to Spain, and when I went to Spain for the first time, it was in Palma, Mallorca (in 2000). I had never been and I was like, 'Oh my gosh.' Little did I know that an island would have such large mountains. … And it was history, oh my goodness: The age of the buildings, the landscape, the architects, the artists. And then from there, we went to Barcelona, which was epic. And I remember we arrived at 6 a.m., and the nightclubs were still going. I thought, "This is a cool city." … And I went to the (Dalí Theatre-Museum) in Figueres, Spain, which was incredible. We (went to Gaudí's Park Güell). So, for me, walking through the history of Spain and the artists was epic. And from there, I was based in Barcelona (working on a motor yacht), and then we would drive to Andorra. … And we would ski in the Pyrenees. So, we adventured. And I would always drive the crew three hours, three-and-a-half hours. If it was raining in Barcelona, I'm like, "Let's go ski," because we spent winters there. Boats. I don't like flying. The older I get, the less I like to fly, especially everything that you're reading lately. … Boat is my transport of choice, because you can always find a place to anchor if the weather is bad, and you can't do that in the sky. You start hitting turbulence, where are you going? … A boat, you could go around the corner and just drop your hook. Train – I wish we had a train system in the U.S. like they do in Europe, because my first train ride in Europe was – wow. I was like, 'This is cool.' We were in Civitavecchia, which is a marina outside of Rome. We were going to go see a concert, and we all booked the first-class seats, and we just had the best time riding the train. I even called my sister one day; I went, 'Let's buy a train car to hook on the back of Amtrak.' … If you Google train cars for sale, you'll find one. … So I thought, "Oh, let's do that." And she goes, 'You know there are more train crashes than there are planes?' And I go, 'Great, you just ruined that for me.' I'm an aisle seat. Now, on the long-haul flights, I like to try to get that one solo seat if you have it, because I'm always on my own. But no matter what, I want to be on an aisle because if there is an emergency, I don't want to be tripping over someone to get to the door. I love boating, so I like to charter a boat when I go on vacation. And I also love to do the spas. I love going out boating for the cocktail cruising hour. I don't want to do it in the sun, you know? I'm past that age. So, spa, boating, cocktail cruise, sundown, home, great dinner with your friends – and that's a perfect day for me. I love games. So when we travel, if it's just (my wife) Leah and I, we play cards. I love to gamble. I don't have a gambling problem, but we play games. From the time we're on the plane, we're playing something. (I bring) a book to read, and that's it. When I go somewhere, the destination for me is the entertainment. Getting to the destination is what I want to occupy me if I'm not sleeping. So, playing a game, reading a book or watching a great series. Security, right? So, getting to the plane, TSA – sometimes those people need to chill out. I get it: Look at everything, check the luggage, but don't be rude. The pet peeve for me is when they speak to people rudely. You can charter small boats. There are boat clubs. You can buy a boat off of They sell personal watercraft, they sell kayaks, they sell big boats, whatever fits your budget. Go boating, because when you touch the water, it is incredible. When you're floating on top of it, it changes everything. You could have the most angry people in the world; you get them on a boat, they just transform. … Water transforms people and their personalities, and I think boating is good therapy. Call The Midwife star Helen George in tears as she admits to phobia
Helen George confessed that her experience of swimming with sharks brought her to tears, revealing her fear of water. In SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters, seven stars trade the glitz and glamour of red carpets for the open waters of The Bahamas. However, there won't be much time for sunbathing - it's all about survival. Guided by three top shark experts, the stars come face-to-face with one of nature's most misunderstood creatures: the shark. From the striking Hammerhead to the formidable Bull shark, each dive takes them deeper into shark territory. READ MORE: ITV This Morning halted for 'really sad' breaking news just minutes into show READ MORE: Strictly Come Dancing 2025 line-up rumours includes X Factor icon and Olympic legend It's heart-pounding, myth-busting and, at times, downright terrifying. But as they discover, the real nightmare isn't sharks - it's a sea without them. Fifty years after JAWS ignited worldwide shark mania, this series turns the tables, showing us just how crucial these apex predators truly are to marine life everywhere. With legends like Sir Lenny Henry, McFly's Dougie Poynter and beloved presenters and actors on board, SHARK! Celebrity Infested Waters delivers thrills, truth and a wake-up call from beyond the waves. As Trixie in Call The Midwife, Helen George is accustomed to high-stakes drama - but diving with sharks was next-level. "I am quite scared of swimming," she admits. "I have a real deep rooted fear of putting my head under water, and hadn't realised how bad it was until it was day one and we were doing scuba training." The challenges were relentless for Helen, who shared: "I then found out our challenge was a cage dive with Bull sharks. I cried some more." Despite the tough times, she found comfort in the camaraderie among her fellow contestants. Helen recalled one particularly gruelling task: "There was a challenge that we had to do when we were sent out at sea and told that we had to hold onto this raft. It was really treacherous weather that day, really stormy and the sea was really rough and choppy. Ross Noble managed to sneak out a bag of snacks strapped to his leg with gaffer tape." Ross, the ever-entertaining comic, brought humour even under the sea, though he admitted being spellbound by the sharks: "I was in a hypnotic state," he confessed. "You're in the water and these things are moving around, your brain can't comprehend it. I was so taken with how incredible it was." Meanwhile, Sir Lenny Henry joined the adventure while still recovering from an injury, but found unexpected healing in the waters: "I had a dodgy knee when I arrived, and my experience in the water and the exercise just made it go away. It was amazing," he revealed. He added, "I would just get in the water and I'm not the best of swimmers, but I really worked hard on it and it paid off. I think it means, don't give up, don't mind about how old you are, just get in there and have a go."

Canada have completed an undefeated run on their road to booking their ticket for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. The Nicholas Kirton-led side became the 13th team to ensure their place in the World Cup that will be held in the Indian sub-continent between February and March next year. The hosts of the Americas Regional Final confirmed their place at the tournament on Saturday, beating The Bahamas and watching Bermuda lose to the Cayman Islands, putting them in an unassailable lead. The side then closed out with a win over Bermuda on Sunday, finishing three wins clear of their nearest rival for tournament tickets. Having featured at last year's Men's T20 World Cup in the USA and the Caribbean, Canada arrived into the Qualifiers as one of the favourites to progress through. Canada had opened their campaign with a comprehensive win against Bermuda by 110 runs. The result was followed by a 59-run win against Cayman Islands and a 10-wicket trumping of Bahamas in the first round of games between the teams. Canada joined co-hosts India, Sri Lanka as the latest entrants to the next edition of the World Cup, behind Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, United States, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand and Pakistan. Seven more teams – two from the Europe Qualifier (to be played from 5–11 July 2025), two from the Africa Qualifier (to be played from 19 September – 4 October 2025) and three from the Asia–EAP Qualifier (to be played from 1–17 October 2025) – will join the Men's T20 World Cup.
