So, I hope you have plenty of snacks and some good company, because you are in for a long, long, longgggg night. Presenters Tonight, we'll be guided by a new line-up of hosts, and a few familiar faces. Article continues below Our ears will be graced by the national treasure and commentator extraordinaire Graham Norton who will be leading us through the night. Inevitably he will be making witty jokes about the contestants, and raising a toast to former Eurovision presenter, the late Terry Wogan. As Switzerland are hosting the competition this year, the main hosts of the show will be Hazel Brugger, Sandra Studer and Michelle Hunziker live from Basel. Hazel is an award-winning stand-up comedian and presenter, who was originally born in the USA, but grew up near Zurich. Our second host Sandra is already fairly acquainted with the Eurovision Song Contest and knows how stressful it can be for the contestants, because in 1991 she even competed herself. She finished in fifth place whilst performing and since then, she has made her name as an actress, singer and presenter, which includes many various Eurovision cameos in a full circle moment. The final host, Michelle, grew up in Ostermundigen near Bern and is one of Switzerland's best-known international personalities as she is one of Europe's most beloved entertainers. She is best known for numerous shows on German and Italian television which many Eurovision fans may already be familiar with. . Voting Following last year's changes to voting, at the Grand Final the vote will now open just before the first song begins. It will remain open throughout the evening and then up to 40 minutes after the final song is performed. You can vote for your favourite performance via the app, which is available for iOS, Android or Windows devices. By voting on the app, you may also receive a special little message from your favourite act. You can also vote by phone and SMS, and the details will be available on screen during the contest or online through the Eurovision website. Out of fairness, you can't vote for your own country. This means you can't vote for the UK's entry, Remember Monday, even if you're enjoying their song, What the Hell Just Happened? Read more about our entry here. 50% of the total vote is made up by the public's vote, and the other half is then determined by the professional jury in each participating country. First, the jury vote will be announced by spokespeople from each country. This will then be followed by the audience vote, which can change everything. Eurovision semi-final 2: Will Emmy make it? Here's all the action from the second semi-final
LIVE | Switzerland gears up to deliver an epic Eurovision Song Contest, after Nemo took home the trophy in 2024 with their song The CodeIreland's act Emmy takes to the stage tonightStay up-to-date on all the live action, news and views from Basel here on our live blog: 5 minutes ago And the UK entry probably owe Billy Joel a few bob for ripping off My Life at one point. You're welcome. Now we have the mandatory tribal offering a third of the way through proceedings courtesy of Greece. 5 minutes ago 6 minutes ago 7 minutes ago "What the hell just happened?", indeed. If that's what they were going for with the mismatched songs and set design, then job done. Even the Union Jack-wielding fans in the crowd look confused. 9 minutes ago Our in-house Eurovision expert Indo Daily podcast producer Garrett Mulhall has added his hot take to the mix - "Austria... one of the favourites, just not mine" 11 minutes ago Did you enjoy a break from all the warbling? We only have another VERY MANY songs to go. Next up, we have one of The Big Five in the form of the UK doing a dress rehearsal for Saturday's finale. 14 minutes ago 15 minutes ago I'm still not sure what Austria was exactly, but it was certainly something different, which was very much welcomed at this juncture of proceedings. 15 minutes ago 16 minutes ago Austria is next, and I wonder will performer JJ be as cheesy as his VT (apologies). One thing's certain: Tuesday's singer from Azerbaijan could have done with JJ's otherworldly falsetto. Wowzers. And if you were hoping it would turn into a banger at the end, wish granted.... 17 minutes ago 21 minutes ago Hello to PARG, who's part oil slick. He's singing to Survivor, but Beyonce and co. can rest easy. He's doing an ode to an OK GO! video (the one with the treadmills, obvs), but it's not as impactful given he's all alone in his patent cargo pants. Again, lads, we might be in with a chance here... 21 minutes ago This song was written by Irish-Czech singer-songwriter Joshua Curran who said it was an "incredible experience" and admits it's "really cool" to say he's the first Irishman to write a song for Armenia. 22 minutes ago And TAILS, no less. Honestly, if we don't get through, it'll be a travesty given what we've been subjected to thus far. Armenia is due up next once they manage to clear the stage of barnacles, algae, and sea cucumbers. 25 minutes ago The Latvian contingent is making up for the lack of female performers on display on Tuesday night. There's no less than six female what appear to be water nymphs onstage, clad in plastic, gills, and strategically placed tendrils. 28 minutes ago
