Sean Brady makes Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena prediction for UFC 315

Sean Brady makes Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena prediction for UFC 315 Sean Brady isn't completely ruling out Jack Della Maddalena winning at UFC 315. Welterweight champion Belal Muhammad (24-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC) makes his first title defense against Della Maddalena (17-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) in Saturday's headliner (pay-per-view, ESPN, ESPN+) at Bell Centre in Montreal. Brady (18-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC), who submitted former champion Leon Edwards in a dominant win at UFC Fight Night 255, is on the cusp of title contention. With his lone career loss coming to Muhammad at UFC 280, a title-fight rematch is the best-case scenario for Brady. "For me, I want Belal to win," Brady said on his "The BradyBagz Show." "Of course, it is better for me if Belal wins. He's the only person who's beat me in my career. The better he does, the better it looks for me, and I could possibly get a title shot next. The UFC has given me no contacts on this, but I'm going to be there. Me and Belal have fought, I'm a guest fighter for the week, so I'm going to be out there. Obviously they want me there. Shavkat (Rakhmonov) is still hurt. I'm hearing he's not fighting until October or December, and I'm hearing they might be going to Chicago in August, and that's where Belal's from." While Brady predicts a Muhammad win, he can see Della Maddalena pulling off the upset. "A lot of things have to line up, but with that being said, Jack's a f*cking very tough fight, and I wouldn't be surprised if Jack wins this fight," Brady continued. "Jack can knock people out, that's usually how he wins fights. Belal's been knocked out by Luque back in the day. He hasn't been knocked out since, but he's been dropped by Geoff Neal, got hurt by Leon, and Jack knocks guys out. He's hard to take down and hold down. So, it's going to be a very, very interesting fight. I'm picking Belal, but I would not be surprised if Jack wins this fight."

Sean Brady laughs at Ian Machado Garry's UFC title shot claim: 'You don't deserve anything'

Sean Brady thinks Ian Machado Garry has no business calling for a title shot after UFC on ESPN 66. Machado Garry (16-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) mapped out a three-fight plan after defeating Carlos Prates by unanimous decision in Saturday's headliner at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Mo. The 27-year-old will weigh in as the official backup for the welterweight title fight between champion Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena on May 10 at UFC 315 in Montreal. Brady (18-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC), who solidified himself as a top contender with a dominant submission of former champ Leon Edwards in the UFC Fight Night 255 headliner, was far from impressed with Machado Garry's win over Prates. "I'm going to keep this short and sweet: Ian did what Ian does," Brady said on his "The BradyBagz Show." "He f*cking touches you and runs for three rounds, then he got beat up for two rounds, then said he's getting a title shot. My man was on his hands and knees. I don't know how Prates didn't finish him in that last sequence on the ground. He had him, bro. He was done. To say after a performance like that, you deserve a title shot. He can go weigh in and be the backup fighter all he wants: That doesn't mean f*cking d*ck. You just beat No. 13. You don't deserve anything. "If you went out there and finished him, (but) he almost got finished! I think if he (Prates) put his foot on the gas the way he did in the fourth and the fifth (rounds), he probably would have gotten Ian out of there. He started finally walking him down, had some confidence, and he won the last two rounds off of that. Ian just keeps talking about him taking short-notice fights. Cool, bro. You did two: Lost one and almost got finished in the other. That doesn't mean you deserve a title shot. Just because you're going to weigh in, you think you deserve it? No, not how it works." Machado Garry was asked if he'd consider fighting Brady in a No. 1 contender fight, but Machado Garry dismissed the idea. "Not in my mind, that guy needs to do a little bit more, too," Machado Garry said of Brady on "The Ariel Helwani Show." "I think you could see many, many different scenarios for Sean, but in my mind, I don't think he's in my path right now. I think it's the winner of this fight (Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena). Obviously in my mind, I believe I'll win the fight, therefore Islam (Makhachev), the fact that he wants to move up to 170, so if he wants to come up, I'd more than welcome that. Then I want the rematch with Shavkat (Rakhmonov)."

Sean Brady slams Colby Covington for calling him an easy matchup: 'I would f*cking kill him'

Sean Brady thinks Colby Covington wouldn't even be worth his time. Covington (17-5 MMA, 12-5 UFC) was asked about Brady's dominant submission win over Leon Edwards less than two weeks ago in the UFC Fight Night 255 headliner and called him a good matchup. Brady (18-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) was also called out by Kamaru Usman (20-4 MMA, 15-3 UFC), but the now No. 1-ranked UFC welterweight dismissed both fighters. 'I was trying to get the Usman fight for months,' Brady said on his 'The BradyBagz Show.' 'DM'd him, hit him up, now he's like, 'Me and Brady should fight for the No. 1 contender.' Oh, should we? I just beat the guy who beat you twice! Either I'm fighting for the belt next, I could fight the winner or loser, or really me vs. Shavkat for No. 1 contender.' As for Covington calling him an easy matchup, Brady went off on the former interim champion, who's currently on a two-fight losing skid. 'Same thing with him (Covington): I was asking for that fight for so long. The UFC pretty much told me, 'This guy sucks,'' Brady said. 'The best thing, I watched him, my brother sent me this clip where he said, 'Sean Brady f*cking sucks. I never watched one of his fights. Blah blah blah. I remember watching him get beat up by Belal.' Brother, you just said you never watched one of my fights, but then you watched me get beat up by Belal, so what are you talking about? 'He's this high-level wrestler. I'm like, 'Bro, Leon took you down multiple times, beat the sh*t out of you. Do you see what I just did to Leon? What would I do to you? I would f*cking kill him. He's not even getting anyone in the top 15. Dude, he might not even have a f*cking job. When is the last time that dude won a fight? He f*cking sucks. Colby, you're a p*ssy. How do you get punched on by (Jorge) Masvidal in public and go sue him? You're not a pro fighter. You're a p*ssy.'

Sean Brady reflects on UFC 280 loss to Belal Muhammad, addresses online trolls

UFC welterweight contender Sean Brady admits the stage was too big when he fought now-champion Belal Muhammad. It was October 2022 when a then-undefeated and slightly favored Brady (17-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) stepped into the cage at UFC 280 to face Muhammad (24-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC). The feature preliminary bout was a big one for both fighters who were knocking on the door of title contention. Muhammad won the fight by second round TKO, ending Brady's undefeated run. The result was a reality check of sorts for the Philadelphia-born fighter. 'Back in 2022 when I lost to Belal, I wasn't ready for these big fights and these big moments,' Brady said on 'The BradyBagz Show.' 'The old Sean Brady had to die. I became a new version of myself, and then since becoming a dad, I feel like that's became a different level of who I am.' While Brady says he has evolved as a fighter and as a person away from fighting, one thing he can't seem to escape is the trolls online in comment sections who love to bring up the only loss of his professional career. It's something that Brady laughs at now since he's moved on and learned from the moment. In fact, Brady is confident that when he meets Muhammad inside the cage again, the result will be much different than their first fight. 'Didn't get dropped, completely fine afterwards – like, brother, he is the UFC champion,' Brady said. 'If me and Belal fight 10 times, I'm winning nine of them. I lost the one. It's OK, and I don't talk like that because I know I'm going to get my get back. Y'all can be in the comments and say that. I am No. 5 in the UFC. Y'all are out here writing in the comments of my show, of my sh*t.' Brady has rebounded nicely with wins over a pair of former UFC title challengers in Kelvin Gastelum (interim middleweight) and Gilbert Burns. On March 22, Brady will get another chance to firmly put his name in title contention when he takes on former champion Leon Edwards at UFC Fight Night 255 in London. It's a road game for Brady, but a big main event that could likely earn a title shot. 'Three weeks out, I feel amazing,' Brady said. 'Team, my body feel – everything's amazing. We're training hard as sh*t. We're ready to f*cking go.'
