The 8 best patterned sheets of 2025, from dainty florals to modern geometrics

If there's one thing I hate, it's boring colors and designs. I grow tired of the same solid white, gray, and taupe, especially in bedding. While plain white sheets are classic, sometimes you want to make your bed a statement piece. To me, the best sheets have fun patterns and designs that bring me joy every time I crawl into bed and reflect my personal style. With solid, muted colors feeling like the norm when it comes to bedding, I was on a quest to find the best patterned sheets that would add dimension and character to my bedroom. Not only was I looking for a diverse selection of prints and patterns, but I also considered feel, fit, and quality. Our top picks combine style and comfort for cozy sheet sets that you can pair with colorful blankets and quilts for a look that's truly your own. The Company Store makes the best patterned sheets with a wide array of colorful prints, ranging from classic florals and stripes to adorable animals in crisp percale or soft sateen in its Company Cotton collection. For a third of the price, Target's Threshold Printed Performance Sheets are currently available in over 20 patterns for under $60; they're a great budget pick that is far from the scratchy or thin feel that can plague cheap bedding. Our top picks for best patterned sheets Best overall: The Company Store Patterned Sheets - See at The Company Store Best budget: Target Threshold Printed Performance Sheet Set - See at Target Best overall The Company Store Patterned Sheets The Company Store has a pattern for everyone, from checked plaids to pink flamingos. We loved the feel of both the percale and sateen sheets. Check price at The Company Store It's hard to find a set of sheets that blends a unique pattern with unparalleled comfort, but somehow, The Company Store has done it. Out of all the sheet sets I tested, I was most impressed with The Company Store and their balance of quality, style, and variety. We tested percale and sateen patterned sheets from The Company Store Company Cotton collection, and both sheets were excellent. The percale is made with a 200-thread count; the sateen is 300-thread count. Both are Oeko-Tex-certified and can fit mattresses up to 18 inches deep. The percale sheets were crisp and slept cool, while the sateen sheets were silky soft and smooth. They also fit on the bed well, with little shifting throughout the night, which is impressive, since I have a bad habit of thrashing in my sheets. I loved the percale sheets and was sad to switch them out at the end of my seven-night testing period. In terms of the designs, there are a few that stand out, including a special collaboration with Rifle Paper Co., featuring the stationery brand's iconic prints reimagined on bedding. I tested the Rifle Paper Co. Strawberry Fields Percale Set, and I was absolutely obsessed with how it looked. The flowers on the sheets are so colorful, with vibrant pops of red from the strawberries on the vines. Our senior home editor, Jaclyn Turner, tested the Peacock Sateen Sheets. It's a beautiful design of elegant peacocks, green leaves, and flowers on a cream, ivory, or evergreen background. Other highlights include Sunshine & Blooms Percale Sheet Set in Plaid Coral Orange with a lovely ruffle on the edge. The Company Store frequently has sitewide sales, but its special collaborations with Rifle Paper Co., for instance, are typically excluded from promotions. In addition to sets, each piece of bedding is sold individually. This makes it easy to replace individual pieces without buying the entire collection. Or, if you hate a top sheet, you can forgo it by purchasing the pieces of bedding individually. Many patterns have matching duvet covers, comforters, and shams, too, if you want a fully cohesive look. I'd also love to mix and match my sheets and duvets with different patterns. Best budget The Threshold Performance Sheet Set is the budget pick in our best sheets guide — and for good reason. For under $60, the sheets are soft and durable, holding up well to washing and drying. They're also available in more than 20 prints — the most common being floral designs and geometric prints — making them a no-brainer to be our favorite budget patterned sheets. The Tulip Toss print is super cute, with a mini-print of tiny pink tulips on a solid cream background. It's a subtle design that would look adorable in any bedroom. The Pink Plaid pattern is another standout, with simple double-lined plaid on a coral pink sheet. These printed sheets also come in Twin XL, making them an excellent choice for college students living in dorms. The patterns are easy to match with a solid-colored duvet cover or quilt, and you won't have to skimp on comfort in favor of affordability. Our tester did notice that the sheets have a slight smell out of their packaging, so we recommend washing before adding them to your bed. The sateen weave can trap oils. That said, the sheets don't pill or shrink after washing, so you won't have to worry about them deteriorating after your wash day. Just be sure to remove them from the dryer quickly since they're prone to wrinkling. Best floral Anthropologie's patterned sheets are the real deal. The Organic Cotton Sateen Printed Sheet Set stays on my bed when I'm not testing another set of sheets, which is the highest honor I can bestow upon any piece of bedding. The prints rotate seasonally, giving a limited-time element as new designs are released. Though where Anthro really shines is with its floral designs. The Nalini Cool pattern, which I tested, has an impressionist flair that reminds me of Monet's waterlilies; it's covered in white and purple flowers and greenery on a light blue background. I'm also a fan of the Plum sheet set, a beautiful, deep burgundy design covered in natural-looking wildflowers and branches. There are plenty of designs outside of florals, too, like mini-print bows and leopard print while the Looped Organic Percale Sheet Set has embroidery on the edges of the flat sheet and pillow for an elegant upgrade to a classic solid sheet set. Even though I usually spring for percale sheets, since I prefer that cool-to-the-touch feel, I tried something different, opting for the sateen printed sheets. I typically avoid sateen sheets out of overheating at night, but these Anthropologie sheets completely changed my perception of sateen. The sheets are ridiculously soft and cuddly, but they still stay cool throughout the night. If you're a percale lover, don't fret: there are plenty of designs available in Anthropologie's Percale Sheet Set. The sheets fit snugly on the bed, even after tossing and turning. The fitted sheet has tags that label the top and bottom for easy bed-making. The top sheet is a perfect length, too — it's not too long or short. Best trendy Urban Outfitters is your go-to bedding destination if you're the type to keep up with the latest trends. With every pattern you can think of (and a few you can't), Urban Outfitters' bedding selection keeps your bedroom looking fresh and inspired. It's easy to match each pattern to your aesthetic. Are you going for a frilly, coquette vibe? You might enjoy the Painted Bows Sheet Set, which features long, flowy bows on a simple background. Feeling more vintage Western to thrill your inner horse girl? The Vicki Collage Sheet Set features cute mini-prints of horses, cacti, and cowboy boots. I'm a lover of all things bright and maximalist, so I tried out the Mariana Tile Sheet Set. The tile-inspired design includes vibrant squares with flora, fauna, and cocktails. I'm also in love with the Frog Toile Sheet Set, which looks like a traditional toile design until you look closer to see a frog enjoying a glass of wine in front of a rustic cottage. Besides the cute prints, these sheets are affordable, too. Most sets are only $89 for a queen. They're not the softest sheets we've ever tried — they can feel a little scratchy at first — but they soften up after a few washes. The sheets are thin, so they're not the most durable option. I could easily see them succumbing to pet claws or being snagged on something in the wash. The thinness does mean that they're lightweight and breathable, though, so they're a good option for hot sleepers. Overall, Urban Outfitters is a great place to buy sheets with a unique pattern that won't necessarily last a lifetime. Best vintage-inspired When embracing the vintage look for your bedroom, you'll want to search for sheets with timeless designs like subdued florals, simple stripes, and polka dots. With an excellent range of classic patterns, Garnet Hill is our pick for best vintage-inspired patterned sheets. Garnet Hill sells patterned sheets in cotton, linen, and flannel. I tried both the cotton and linen sheets. I loved the Micro-Print Organic Cotton Percale Sheet Set: they were crisp and comfortable, everything a percale sheet should be. I got the Sage Ditsy Floral design, which features tiny burnt orange and yellow flowers with green accents. My favorite part of these sheets is the embroidery detail in the pillowcase and the top sheet. It's a simple design element, but it elevates the entire sheet set into something special and unique. I'm not a huge fan of linen sheets — they tend to be too loose for me and the fitted sheet comes off the bed — but it's rare to find linen sheets with patterns besides stripes and gingham. The Chelsea Garden Relaxed Linen Sheets stand out, with a light blue or green background adorned with realistic designs of flowers, birds, and fruit. While I didn't test the flannel sheets, I'm impressed with the pattern range. The Winterberry Flannel Sheet Set features designs of rambling vines topped with vibrant berries, which makes excellent bedding for winter and the holiday season. These sheets, especially the linen, are expensive. That said, I was impressed with their thick feel and durable design, so they'll last for years. Plus, you can buy bedding individually, so you can replace separate pillowcases or sheets without replacing the entire set. Best modern We've been a fan of Brooklinen's sateen and percale sheets for years, but they also offer their best-selling sheets in simple, geometric designs that bring a modern look to your bedroom. Brooklinen is always coming out with new patterns and designs, which is a double-edged sword. For one, there's always a new print to consider. At the same time, though, the new patterns are in high demand and sell out fast. You can sometimes find discontinued patterns at a discount, though sizing is usually limited. I tried both the Classic Percale Sheet Set and the Luxe Sateen Sheet Set. In percale, I got the now-discontinued open windowpane in meadow, which is a green-and-white plaid pattern on a tea-green background. The design is simple but elevated. In sateen, I tried the also discontinued Ikat sky and arctic blue, an abstract, icy blue design with navy accents. The most classic Brooklinen design is the Oyster print, a collection of swooping lines that form an abstract pattern. The Tandem Stripe pattern is also popular. As the name suggests, it's a simple design of dual lines that create stripes down the sheet. Brooklinen is currently collaborating with fabric designer Caroline Z. Hurley on modern floral patterns. Brooklinen's sheets are of the utmost quality. They're a little expensive, but they're a great investment that will last for years. Plus, with a 365-night trial, you can always return them if they don't work for you (which, candidly, is unlikely). Best flannel Especially in the fall and winter, there's nothing more cozy and inviting than a soft set of flannel sheets. Choosing patterned flannel sheets can add an extra festive flair to your bedroom, reminiscent of warm, fireplace-lit cabins and holiday mornings. is known for its flannel products, and the Ultrasoft Comfort Flannel Sheet Set is one of the best. We love its softness, and it takes the top spot in our best flannel sheets guide. It's available in three patterns: botanical floral and stripes or check print in neutral gray or blue. also sells other flannel sheet sets in different patterns. The Heritage Chamois Sheet Set, for example, comes in a classic lumberjack red and black plaid. We love these sheets: they're ridiculously comfortable and durable, without being too heavy. The sheets do shed lint after a while, which is common for flannel. That said, they are unmatched in cozy comfort. Softest When shopping for patterned sheets, you sometimes have to sacrifice softness. All the picks on our list are soft and comfortable, but the Cuddledown Patterned Sheets are the softest. Cuddledown's sateen sheets have a luxurious, almost velvety feel. I'm looking forward to using these sheets in the winter because I know they'll be a warm and cozy respite from the cold. The thick fabric also holds up well to care, with no pilling or torn threads evident after washing and drying. I tried the Meridian Sateen Sheet Set in honey, a lovely warm mustard yellow. The design is made of interlocking geometric circles that create a unique design. I also love the piping on the border of the sheet. It's a beautiful design element, but it also helps me differentiate the top and the bottom when making the bed. They slept a little hot for me, but I did test in the late spring and tend to overheat at night. Otherwise, the range of Signature Sateen Prints includes a variety of adorable mini-prints. The Dragonfly design comes in eight different colors, so you can easily match the color of the dragonfly with a duvet cover for a stylish, cohesive look. These sheets also include the piped border that I loved from the Meridian set. Cat and dog lovers can rejoice, with both Dog and Cat prints. As you shop on Cuddledown, keep in mind that not all sheets are sold as sets. You'll likely need to purchase a fitted sheet, top sheet, and pillowcases individually, but they are all listed in the product page. What to look for When shopping for patterned sheets, keep an eye out for the following: Comfort: Comfort means different things to different people. If you're a hot sleeper and need cool sheets, consider percale or linen. If you're looking for maximum coziness, sateen or flannel might be up your alley. Fit: When shopping for patterned sheets, pay attention to pocket depth and sheet dimensions. If you have a deeper mattress, you'll want fitted sheet pockets of at least 16 inches. For thinner mattresses, avoid long pocket depths, since that can cause your fitted sheet to bunch up on the bed. Print: Find a design that's appealing to you and your personal aesthetic. Here is a breakdown of common printed sheet patterns: Florals: Flowers, leaves, and branches, oh my! Floral patterns bring nature-inspired calmness to your bed. Stripes: Thin stripes look classic, while thicker stripes can be a standout design in your bedroom. Polka dots: Polka dots are the most fun, and you can easily pair these sheets with a solid duvet cover or quilt. Mini or micro prints: You can find mini-prints and micro-prints of just about anything, from flowers and seashells to animals or food. Animal: Animal prints, like zebra and leopard, are sexy and bold. Plaid: Plaid is versatile, adding a modern or ultra-cozy look to your basic set of sheets. Abstract and geometric: Abstract and geometric shapes are perfect if you gravitate toward a modern style. Value: Value doesn't only include the price, but look out for good return policies, trial period, and warranties. How we tested To test patterned sheets, I slept with each sheet set for at least seven nights. I also washed each set and noted any pilling, torn threads, or shrinkage. Comfort. During the seven-night period, I noted each sheet set's comfort, paying particular attention to aspects such as softness, breathability, and cooling. Fit. I toss and turn in my sleep, so I tested each fitted sheet to determine if it stayed put on the bed. I also considered whether the top sheet fit the dimensions of my bed and if it was prone to bunching up. Design. I chose sheet sets with a variety of designs for every personal style and aesthetic. I looked for fun, bold prints and subtle patterns. Value. I considered the price of every sheet set, plus the return, trial, and warranty policies. Snuggle Up With The 6 Best Down Comforters, Tested By Editors

There's something about a fluffy, plush down comforter that feels ultra luxurious. Down offers a soft and lightweight feel and great insulation abilities, which is why it's a popular bedding material. The best down comforters keep you warm through the night (without causing you to overheat), are made of premium materials and are backed by eco-friendly certifications. After testing a haul of different comforters from the internet's favorite brands, our seasoned editors named the The Company Store Goose Down Comforter the best overall choice. It has a high fill power, multiple weight options and an upscale look and feel. Down comforters can shine all year long, whether in the heat of summer or below zero temperatures. While it's also good at retaining heat, the material is also incredibly breathable, and the comforters listed below come in multiple weight levels so you can customize the fill to your liking. Also consider the best down pillows for even more fluffy comfort while you sleep. Our score: 9.8 | Cover material: 430 thread count cotton | Fill power: 700 to 750 | Certification: Responsible Down Standard (RDS) | Weight: Light, medium, extra or ultra Pros: Cons: The Company Store's Legends Luxury Luxe Royal Down Comforter claims our top choice with a 5-star hotel-quality down comforter that's thick, plush and cozy, offering four weight options to suit almost any sleeper. The cotton comforter is filled with responsibly sourced Hungarian white goose down, a premium material that offers maximum warmth. With a baffle-box construction and inner loops, this pick doesn't slide around inside a duvet cover (if you decide to put it in one). It's also slightly oversized, so it drapes nicely over the edge of your bed and helps minimize blanket hogging. Our tester, Bridget Chapman, senior mattress and sleep editor at Forbes Vetted, tested the lightest-weight option and found she slept great in the summer heat with it. According to Chapman, it feels more lightweight than most comforters we've tested besides one from Brooklinen. 'At first I wondered if it'd be substantial enough for a comforter, but it surprised me with how much comfort it provides," she says. At the same time, she notes it has a very fluffy, luxurious look and feel that immediately makes you want to jump into bed. With that said, her husband felt it slept warmer than the Saatva Comforter (even though it's thinner than that one), likely because of its extra-warm Hungarian down filling. Our score: 7 | Cover material: 233 thread count cotton | Fill power: 600 | Certification: Oeko-Tex Standard 100 | Weight: Medium warmth Pros: Cons: The Puredown All-Season Duvet offers the soft feel of down without the high price tag. The trick is in the materials; it's not entirely filled with down—it's 90% goose feathers and 10% goose down. While this might be a downside to some, it's not a deal-breaker for those looking for a lower-priced option that also values more sustainable designs. Plus, goose down is known for its ultra fluffy feel and insulation powers, so you get a similar feel without all the heat retention. The shell is 100% cotton and, like others on our list, has a baffle-box construction for even fill distribution. In a nutshell, it's a true steal for anyone looking for something that feels high quality that is still affordable. During testing, our team found that it's a solid and comfortable choice, but we wouldn't call it a fluffy, luxe pick compared to the others. 'It's overall a nice comforter and keeps you warm and cozy," says our tester. "However, I did find that it lies a bit flat compared to the Bavarian comforter,' she says. With that in mind, we do think this is a solid option for a guest bed or someone on a budget. The comforter is fairly lightweight, so consider a heavier comforter if you want a fluffy, warm pick. Our score: 9 | Cover material: 400 thread count organic Cambric cotton | Fill power: 700-plus | Certification: RDS, Oeko-Tex Standard 100 | Weight: Summer, light, medium or Arctic Pros: Cons: If you're searching for a comforter with a cloudlike feel, Feathered Friends Bavarian 700 Down Comforter is a luxurious option. Our tester, who slept with the comforter for 20 nights, says, 'It's so soft and fluffy. It reminded me of the cloudlike comforters I spotted and used in hotels all over Japan. I tried hunting for a similar comforter during our trip to take back home, but had little luck (until now).' Its cotton shell is filled with 100% European goose down (an ultra premium material), and it comes in four different weights—summer, light, medium and Arctic—to accommodate hot sleepers, cold sleepers and everyone in-between. Our tester says she tried the medium weight and doesn't recommend it for peak summertime. 'But it works really well for mildly cool weather. And though it keeps you cozy, I didn't find it to be overbearingly hot or heavy,' she says. Feathered Friends' down is also Responsible Down Standard certified, plus you get a tracker tag with your purchase, so you can see exactly where the down came from and its full composition. If you're a hot sleeper or looking for a lightweight comforter, consider the summer model. Our score: 9.2 | Cover material: 200-thread-count organic cotton | Fill power: Not listed | Certification: None | Weight: Lightweight, all-year and heavyweight Pros: Cons: Saatva is an online mattress and bedding brand that offers luxury-premium products with competitive price tags, which is why they're referred to as affordable luxury. The All-Year Down Alternative Comforter has a 200 thread count cotton shell with a percale weave that gives it a more breathable feel than comforters with a higher thread count and sateen weave. After testing this comforter for a month, Chapman says the fabric felt high-quality, and the fill is box-stitched in well, so it doesn't clump. 'It also has a substantial, plush feel to it without being too heavy,' says Chapman. The filling is made with a light and airy blend of down-alternative fibers and natural lyocell. At 340 GSM, it offers a comfortable balance between soft and fluffy, while remaining breathable and cool. And its puffy baffle-box construction gives it an extra-plush look and feel that resembles the beds on the covers of home style magazines. Our testers recommend that you go with a lighter option (like the Saatva Lightweight Down Alternative Comforter) if you live in an area that tends to see hotter temperatures more often than not. Our score: 8.8 | Cover material: Organic cotton | Fill power: 750 | Certification: International Down Standard (IDS), Oeko-Tex Standard 100 | Weight: Lightweight, midweight or ultraweight Pros: Cons: Boll & Branch is synonymous with luxury, which is what you can expect from the comfy, eco-friendly Boll & Branch Down Duvet Insert. Available in three fill weights, the lightweight option is a soft and airy choice that's relatively plush with the perfect amount of heft, according to our tester. We tested the lightweight option for a week and found it had a lovely, gentle plushness to it that felt comfortable—even in the dead of summer. The soft down-proof shell that keeps feathers from poking out is made with organic cotton, while the inside is stuffed with IDS-certified responsibly sourced down—a combination we found to be incredibly cozy during testing. Cleaning is made easy, as it's machine washable (on cold through a gentle cycle). To connect to a duvet cover, simply tie the cover's ends to the insert's corner loops and stuff the insert inside. While some reviewers have complained about it being crinkly or loud, we don't share these gripes after trying it. One downside we experienced when testing this comforter is its off-gassing smell. Our tester claims that when she removed the comforter from its packaging, it almost smelled like standing water. However, the odor disappeared after a week and a half. Our score: 8.5 | Cover material: 100% cotton | Fill power: 650 | Certifications: RDS, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Downmark and more | Weight: Lightweight or all-season Pros: Cons: The Avocado Down Duvet Insert doubles as a comforter and as an insert, as most of the picks on our list do. And aside from its soft and pillowy comfort, it also has a stack of green certifications behind it that speak to its environmentally friendly construction. The most notable is its Responsible Down Standard certification, which promises that the down was ethically sourced from a third party-certified farm that treats its animals humanely. It's made with a sateen weave 100% cotton cover with a 400-thread count, while the inside (of the all-season choice) has a 650-fill power and cozy 24-ounce fill weight. I tested the all-season model for over a month in the spring and found it was perfectly warm and cozy. I was wary, though, that I would sleep a little hot during summer, as my husband and I tend to do when temperatures rise. I handed the comforter off to my sister who was in need of a nice duvet insert, and she has been sleeping comfortably with it ever since. For sleepers who are prone to hot-sleeping during the night, opt for the lightweight version, which is a noticeable four ounces lighter. For more details on my month-long testing experience, see my full Avocado Down Duvet Insert review. We've published over 100 mattress and bedding stories over the years that include thoroughly researched and tested products from brands we know and love. When picking the best down comforters, we included a wide variety of options to accommodate different comfort preferences and budgets. Down is one of the most popular materials for bedding. According to Parima Ijaz, textile expert and founder of Pure Parima, 'Comforters, duvets and pillows that are filled with down feathers are excellent at providing insulation which results in a warm, toasty bed. They also offer light, medium and heavyweight options depending on your preference and can accommodate any and every season.' Their versatility, comfort and plush fluffiness make them appealing to everyone from hot sleepers to those in frigid temperatures. From weight to warmth to certifications, these are the most important factors to consider when shopping for a down comforter. Or for more animal- and allergy-friendly options, check out our recommendations for the best down-alternative comforters instead. Most comforters come in standard mattress sizes, including twin, full, queen, king and California king. However, some comforters, like our top choice from The Company Store, come slightly oversized for a more luxurious, draping look. To avoid wrestling for blanket real estate during the night, some people prefer to size up their comforter—for example, putting a king-size comforter on a queen-size bed. This refers to the number of fibers used to create a single square inch of fabric. The higher the thread count, the denser, smoother and more durable the fabric is. Some brands list the thread count of their comforter shells, which gives you a better idea of its surface texture. Note that a higher thread count doesn't always necessarily mean better, as lower thread count bedding is often more breathable. 'The fill power determines the heaviness and warmth, which is important to consider when choosing a comfortable duvet,' says Ijaz. 'We recommend looking for a fill power of 600-plus for a decent amount of warmth and comfort.' If you often wake up hot, live in a warm climate or simply want something lightweight and breathable, look for a fill power of 400 or lower. If you're in the market for an all-season comforter that's slightly more insulating, aim for a fill power between 400 and 600. To accommodate different seasons, comforters come in all different weights, from lightweight to heavy. 'Down is measured by the fill power or weight, which determines how lofty and fluffy it is,' says Ijaz. 'Fill weight measures how much down is used inside the comforter which is measured in grams or ounces. This is important in determining how warm the comforter will be.' All-season models are the most optimal for year-round use, but hot sleepers should consider lightweight models while those who live in regularly cold temperatures could go for heavyweight options. Check the care tag for instructions on how to properly wash and care for your comforter or duvet insert. Improperly washing it (especially if it isn't machine washable) can lead to irreperable damage. If you're dealing with a comforter that isn't machine washable, consider using a duvet cover to help with its longevity. According to Ijaz, 'High-quality down is determined by the size of the clusters, durability and fill power.' She says European White Goose Down is among the most luxurious, as it 'contains large clusters of down feathers and typically a higher fill power which results in a fluffy, warm, long-lasting duvet or comforter.' Goose down is known as a more luxurious material, because it's more lightweight, better at heat insulation and feels much softer. Feathers are still soft and warm, but they aren't as dense or voluminous as down clusters, which result in a heavier or bulkier feel. An expensive down comforter is worth the money if you're looking to invest in your rest and it's able to address a sleep concern of yours. A comforter made from down can be particularly beneficial for people in cold regions who need to stay bundled up during the fall and winter, but lightweight down comforters are ideal for hot sleepers who still want a soft and fluffy comforter to finish their mattress.
