Lady Gaga's Debut Album Reaches A New Chart Peak 16 Years After It Dropped

Lady Gaga's The Fame reaches a new streaming peak in the U.K., climbing to No. 31 on the Official ... More Albums Streaming chart 256 weeks into its run. INDIO, CALIFORNIA - APRIL 11: (FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY) (EXCLUSIVE ACCESS) Lady Gaga performs at the Coachella Stage during the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at Empire Polo Club on April 11, 2025 in Indio, California. (Photo byfor Coachella) Lady Gaga's focus at the moment is still on her album Mayhem. The singer dropped the dark electronic dance project earlier in 2024, and after heavy promotion, the set became another huge winner for her on charts all around the world. It continues to perform well, thanks largely to singles like "Abracadabra" and especially "Die With a Smile" with Bruno Mars. While millions of people continue to buy and stream the most recent full-length in Gaga's arsenal, the set that started it all for the pop superstar is not only still popular — it actually manages to rise to a new peak on one major chart this week. The Fame, Gaga's debut full-length, lives on multiple charts in the United Kingdom this frame. It's a top 40 win on both tallies where it can be found, as people just can't get enough of the decade-plus-old project. The Fame returns to the top 40 on the Official Albums chart, jumping from No. 48 to No. 37. At the same time, it climbs nine spaces to No. 31 on the Official Albums Streaming tally. On that latter list, which ranks the most successful collections on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and other competitors, The Fame reaches a new all-time peak. It does so 256 weeks into its time on the roster. Impressively, The Fame is only a few spots behind Mayhem on the Official Albums Streaming chart. Gaga's newer release dips from No. 20 to No. 28 in its ninth frame. Mayhem is also present inside the top 40 on almost every tally on which it appears, slipping just beneath that tier on the Official Album Downloads roster — but otherwise, the title is still performing exceptionally well. The Fame remains a constant source of commercial success for Gaga even to this day. Released in 2008, the project produced career-defining smashes like "Just Dance," "Poker Face," and "Paparazzi." The music featured on the full-length has come back into focus recently thanks to Gaga's Coachella headlining sets and her historic performance in Rio de Janeiro — all of which reminded the world to begin streaming the project once more.
