Fortnite OG Season 5 release date - here's when the next season comes out

Epic Games just launched the collab for The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, with movie-inspired skins available as rewards as part of a new Tournament. In terms of the OG mode, there's set to be a live event on Saturday (July 26) centered around a rocket launch. Until then, there's the new Thermal Rifle to try out, as well as a whole new OG Battle Pass to work through. Fortnite OG wowed players when it first returned, offering up retooled versions of various classic seasons, which changed each week. It proved to be a massive hit, with player counts absolutely skyrocketing in the month or so Fortnite OG was live. It's no surprise then, that it's now come back as a permanent fixture, continuing into 2025, and Epic has confirmed that the next season of Fortnite OG will begin in August. Thankfully, the ongoing battle royale title receives regular updates from its developers teasing what's coming, and we do now know that Fortnite OG is going to cycle through seasons. Now that the new season of Fortnite battle royale has launched, the runway is clear for OG to take the spotlight. Here's everything you need to know about when Fortnite OG Season 5 launches. We'll cover everything officially revealed by Epic Games, some info on what to expect, as well as a round-up of how things played out last time. As news comes out, this page will be updated. Fortnite OG Season 5 release date Fortnite OG Season 5 will launch on August 8, 2025. This is according to the in-game Battle Pass screen. Recently, Epic Games has started to detail a live event that'll arrive on July 26. We'll have to wait and see where it lands this time around. Fortnite OG is now a dedicated mode moving forward, cycling through Chapter 1 seasons in a similar way to how things worked at the end of 2023, though slightly elongated. Chapter 1 Season 2 ended on March 25, 2025, with Season 3 came to a close on June 8, 2025. This recreates the pattern of the original run, adding loot pool changes and feature introductions. The best place to keep up on specific updates closer to the launch of the new season of Fortnite OG is the Fortnite Status X / Twitter account. We'll be sure to keep this page up to date as well. What is Fortnite OG? Fortnite OG launched in November 2023 and switched the game all the way back to the 2018 map. Specifically, it started in Season 5, with the return of Tilted Towers, a throwback weapon loot pool, and several OG skins to buy in the store. Each week, Epic Games moved the clock forward to the next season, rotating through Season 6, Season 7/8, and then Season 9/10. The map went back to a more classic style, visually and in terms of level design. Iconic locations like Frosty Flights came back, as did old-school vehicles like the X-4 Stormwing. This lasted until December 2, 2023, when the game switched over to a new season. Fortnite OG returned on December 6, 2024 and is now a permanent mode, with its own seasons cycle. Ziplines and ascenders have been added in Zero Build to aid movement. As the seasons change, we'll likely see the map change with it, as well. Hop Rocks (live now!) - Prepare for lift-off! These meteor fragments grant you the power to perform gravity-defying leaps. It won't last forever though, so use those hops carefully! Mushrooms - There's no funny business here, these fungi's provide 5 Shield and can be the difference between a slim victory or swift elimination… Bouncer - Spring into action! Whether you're looking for a bouncy escape or setting up an aerial ambush, the Bouncer Trap is a friend. Drum Gun - Rapid fire your way to dominance like someone's supporting you with a drum roll Dual Pistols - This pair of pistols packs a punch if you're willing to get up close and personal. Jetpack - Take to the sky and get an aerial advantage over your opponents. Be warned though — it's a long way to the ground when you're all out of fuel Stink Bomb - Clear the way with a gaseous grenade that creates a lingering cloud of noxious fumes. Who said winning had to smell good? Note that while these weapons and items are planned on being added this season, they're not all available at launch. Items like the Drum Gun will be added as the season progresses. In excellent news for fans, Fortnite OG is a permanent game mode for the online battle royale game. It'll stay live in perpetuity, and follow its own seasonal cycle, which means it'll evolve regularly like other Fortnite modes. Will Fortnite OG rotate seasons? As well as Fortnite OG being a permanent game mode, it will absolutely have its own seasonal content that will help keep things fresh. Expect the seasonal cycle to change things up regularly. How much does the Fortnite OG Pass cost? The Fortnite OG Pass costs 1,000 V-Bucks. This gives you the chance to earn three skins, as well as a host of other items. Superman vs The Fantastic Four: Which film had the bigger opening weekend at the box office?
David Corenswet's Superman and Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby-led The Fantastic Four: The First Steps are the two big movies this summer. Both films arrived with good previews and opened big, both in the US and worldwide. But which film had an edge over the other and emerged as the winner? The box office results are in, and we might have a close winner. The two films were released just two weeks apart in theatres. Superman box office figures Let's begin with James Gunn's Superman, which saw David Corenswet step into the beloved role of the Man of Steel. As per Box Office Mojo, the DC release collected $125 million at the North American box office during its opening weekend. At the worldwide box office opening weekend, the film crossed $95 million, taking its global debut at $220 million. After two weeks, the film has now crossed the $500 million mark in North America, reaching $289.5 million locally and $213.2 million internationally. Superman stars David Corenswet in the titular role, along with Rachel Brosnahan as Louis Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The Fantastic Four opening figures Meanwhile, The Fantastic Four, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, arrived two weeks later on July 25. The Marvel release collected $118 million domestically. Globally, the film was released in 52 markets, earning $100 million overseas. The gross overall collection now stands at $218 million. It's also the 37th MCU film to top the box office, contributing to Disney becoming the first studio to hit $3 billion in global ticket sales in 2025. By comparing these two figures, it is clear that Superman edged past Fantastic Four by a small margin. It will be interesting to see how Fantastic Four holds up in the upcoming weeks, as the performance of this film will also affect the future of its franchise.

Vanessa Kirby says playing Sue Storm in 'Fantastic Four' prepared her for motherhood before first baby
Vanessa Kirby has shared how playing Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four: The First Steps prepared her for motherhood as she expects her first baby. Speaking with People, Kirby reflected on her character, saying, 'Sue was never sat down. She was never huffing and puffing about it.' She noted that the character is expecting a baby in the new Marvel Studios film while facing the threat of Galactus. 'It didn't define who she was,' Kirby said. 'She was absolutely a mother, and of course, in the comics, that's so definitively her. But she's also been a team member that defends, that goes up against great threats.' Kirby added, 'I literally had the lived experience of somebody who was doing this incredibly sacred thing and fulfilling what she needed to do at the same time as a woman and a team member, and that changed me.' Set in retro-futuristic 1960s, the film features Kirby alongside Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. The team faces the Silver Surfer, played by Julia Garner, and the planet-eating Galactus. Kirby announced her pregnancy in May. She is currently in a relationship with retired lacrosse player Paul Rabil. The Fantastic Four: The First Steps is scheduled for release on July 24.

Joseph Quinn says Beatles role is beyond his ‘wildest dreams'
Speaking at the London premiere for the Marvel film, Quinn told the PA news agency he felt 'inspired' by his Beatles co-stars. 'I'm definitely inspired by the three men that I'm working with, and Sam, who's directing it. 'We've been doing a few weeks of rehearsals that I've really been enjoying. 'It's beyond my wildest dreams. I can't believe I'm able to participate in a film and a project like this.' Directed by British filmmaker Sir Sam Mendes, the collection of four films will showcase one of the members of The Fab Four with an expected release date of April 2028. Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison (John Russo/Sony Pictures/PA) The Beatles biopic project marks the first time Apple Corps Ltd and The Beatles – Sir Paul, Sir Ringo, and the families of Lennon and Harrison – have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film. Previous films about the Beatles include Nowhere Boy, about Lennon growing up in Liverpool, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Quinn is best known for playing Dungeons & Dragons enthusiast Eddie Munson in the sci-fi Netflix series and starred in the alien invasion movie, A Quiet Place: Day One – a prequel to the films A Quiet Place (2018) and A Quiet Place Part II (2020). He also appeared in hit HBO series Game Of Thrones, along with historical Sky drama Catherine The Great with Dame Helen Mirren. Quinn recently starred alongside Mescal in Gladiator II, where he portrayed the less-mad Geta, one of the two feuding Roman emperors and brothers opposite Fred Hechinger as the unstable Caracalla. He now plays Johnny – The Human Torch in the new Marvel movie alongside Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Superman and The Fantastic Four: The First Steps are comic book movies opening in July. SINGAPORE – When DC Studios' rebooted Superman movie opens in Singapore on July 10, tech consultant Gaurav Patel will be one of the DC Comics superhero's many loyal fans heading to the nearest cinema. 'I do trust (American) director James Gunn, and (American actor) David Corenswet looks perfect as Clark Kent. But I'm waiting for the movie to see their full take on Superman,' says the 43-year-old Indian citizen who has been living in Singapore since 2009. He has been an avid fan of the Man of Steel since he was around five years old.
