Watch: Virat Kohli Catches Throw While Batting, Kuldeep Yadav's 'Obstruction' Appeal Wins Internet

Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets in their IPL 2025 match on Sunday at the Arun Jaitely Stadium. Opting to bowl first, RCB restricted DC at 162/8 with Bhuvneshwar Kumar scalping three wickets. Later, the visitors went across the line in just 18.3 overs after Krunal Pandya and Virat Kohli scored 74* and 51 runs respectively. However, there was a moment in the match which could have altered the result of the game in favour of DC. During the seventh over of RCB's run chase, Kohli played a shot on Vipraj Nigam 's delivery, which went towards the mid-wicket. Kuldeep Yadav got the ball and threw it towards the striker's end after Kohli denied a single to Krunal. Before the ball reached wicketkeeper KL Rahul, Kohli caught it mid-way and handed it over to Vipraj on the bowler's end. Then, Kuldeep jokingly appealed for obstruction in field and the game continued. — The Game Changer (@TheGame_26) April 28, 2025 If DC would have raised this issue with the umpire, then Kohli might have been declared out. This could have been a big game changer for DC. "It was a top win, especially looking at the surface. This wicket played very differently to the other games. Whenever there is a chase on I keep checking with the dugout if we are on course, what is my role etc. Krunal.. today was his day. We were waiting for him to come into the tournament with the bat. Who are the bowlers to target. I try and ensure I don't stop my singles and doubles and combine with the occasional boundary," said Kohli during the post-match presentation. "This year you can't just come out and hit, you have to assess, understand the conditions and then plan accordingly. We have communicated beautifully as a team in the batting and that's the reason we have 7 wins out of 10. It's looking good for us. We have Romario (Shepherd) after Tim (David) as well for extra added power. That firepower at the back end definitely helps," he added.

WATCH: Yashasvi Jaiswal furious at Josh Hazlewood after fiery send-off during RCB vs RR IPL 2025 game in Bengaluru

WATCH: Yashasvi Jaiswal furious at Josh Hazlewood after fiery send-off during RCB vs RR IPL 2025 game in Bengaluru New Delhi: The clash between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Josh Hazlewood was one of the highlights of the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals in Bengaluru on Thursday. The battle began in the fourth over — Hazlewood's first — as RCB looked to defend a total of 205. Hazlewood started strong, delivering three dot balls to Jaiswal, including a sharp short ball that left the batter momentarily stunned. However, Jaiswal responded in style, bouncing back with three consecutive boundaries to shift the momentum. In the final over of the Powerplay, Jaiswal continued his aggressive approach, smashing two fours and a six in the first four deliveries. However, his onslaught came to an end when he mistimed a slower ball from Hazlewood, sending a simple catch to mid-wicket. Jaiswal was dismissed for 49 — just one short of a half-century. As he walked off, Hazlewood gave him a fiery send-off, prompting a sharp verbal exchange from the Indian star in response. Josh Hazlewood delivered a superb spell of fast bowling, claiming four wickets to lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru to an 11-run victory over Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2025 clash on Thursday. Chasing a target of 206, RR could only manage 194 for 9 in their 20 overs, slumping to their fifth consecutive defeat of the season. Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored for Rajasthan Royals with a quickfire 49, while Dhruv Jurel contributed a valuable 47. Despite their efforts, RR fell short in their chase of 206. For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Josh Hazlewood was the standout bowler with impressive figures of 4 for 33. He was well supported by Krunal Pandya (2/31), Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/50), and Yash Dayal (1/33), who chipped in with key wickets. Earlier, RCB posted a strong total of 205 for 5 after being put in to bat. Virat Kohli led the charge with a fluent 70 off 42 balls, while Devdutt Padikkal added 50 off 27. Their 95-run partnership for the second wicket was the cornerstone of the innings. — The Game Changer (@TheGame_26) April 24, 2025 Towards the end of the innings, Tim David (23) and Jitesh Sharma (19 not out)* played impactful cameos to help RCB cross the 200-run mark, finishing strongly. Brief Scores: Royal Challengers Bengaluru: 205/5 in 20 overs (Virat Kohli 70, Devdutt Padikkal 50; Sandeep Sharma 2/45) Rajasthan Royals: 194/9 in 20 overs (Yashasvi Jaiswal 49, Dhruv Jurel 47; Josh Hazlewood 4/33, Krunal Pandya 2/31)

Banco BPM Raises Takeover Offer for Asset Manager Anima

(Bloomberg) -- Banco BPM SpA raised its bid for asset manager Anima Holding SpA, indicating that the Italy's third-largest bank is determined to win over investors as it seeks to defend from the takeover attempt of UniCredit SpA. Saudi Arabia's Neom Signs $5 Billion Deal for AI Data Center Why American Mobility Ground to a Halt The Forgotten French Architect Who Rebuilt Marseille In New Orleans, an Aging Dome Tries to Stay Super The Italian lender boosted its offer to €7 from €6.20 per share, according to a statement on Wednesday. The bank said it also received commitments to the offer from Poste Italiane SpA and FSI for a combined holding of 21% of the firm, adding to the 22% owned by Banco BPM. Anima closed at €6.98 in the last trading session, giving the firm a market value of €2.23 billion. In November, Banco BPM offered to buy the investment firm in an effort to strengthen its life insurance and asset management operations. The combined entity would have about €220 billion of assets under management and would lead to a 10% increase in Banco BPM earnings per share. However, Banco BPM simultaneously faces an acquisition offer from UniCredit SpA, which launched the unsolicited bid a few weeks later. Banco BPM CEO Giuseppe Castagna has rebuffed to offer as too low. UniCredit's hostile move on Banco BPM has triggered a wave of takeover activity across the Italian banking sector. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA last month launched an offer for competitor Mediobanca SpA, while last week BPER Banca SpA launched an all-stock takeover bid for Banca Popolare di Sondrio SpA. Banco BPM Strategy The UniCredit move has made it more difficult for Banco BPM to pursue Anima. Italian takeover laws impose sweeping restrictions on the strategic decisions that targets of a takeover approach can make. In an effort to defend itself against the hostile bid by UniCredit, Banco BPM has separately announced an update of its business plan envisaging a shareholder distribution of more than €6 billion through 2027 and a cumulative net income of more than €7.7 billion over the period. The bank also reported net income for the fourth quarter that beat the average analyst estimate. The strategy revamp that Banco BPM is exploring would still assume that the Anima takeover takes place, people familiar with the matter have said. Banco BPM called a shareholder meeting to approve the bid increase and the possible waiver of some conditions originally stated, including the application of benefits from a favorable regulatory treatment for the purchase of asset managers by insurance companies owned by banks, known as the Danish Compromise.
